Jihadists torch ski resort hotel

"The area is not under our control, it's under the militants' control and no one can go there."

And another peace accord bites the dust. Hudaibiyya, anyone?

"Militants torch Pakistani ski resort hotel: police," by Junaid Khan for Reuters, June 26 (thanks to all who sent this in):

MINGORA, Pakistan (Reuters) - Islamist militants burned down a hotel at Pakistan's only ski resort on Thursday as security in a northwestern tourist valley deteriorated despite a month-old peace pact, police said.

The Swat valley, several hours drive on mountain roads from the capital, Islamabad, was until last year a prime tourist destination with ancient Buddhist ruins, a golf course, trout streams and the ski resort.

"Half of the hotel has been burned down," said Swat's police chief, Waqif Khan, referring to the only hotel at the Malam Jabba ski resort. The hotel is owned by the state tourism authority.

Khan said authorities had not been able to get to the resort to tackle the blaze or inspect the damage.

"The area is not under our control, it's under the militants' control and no one can go there," he said.

Militants infiltrated the valley from the Afghan border last year to support a radical cleric based there. The army began battling the militants in November after the militants resorted to violence in their campaign to impose Taliban-style rule.

The hotel shut down last August as tension in the valley increased. It later dismissed its staff as visitors stopped coming....

Militants have attacked security posts, and police and army patrols and they blew up several girls' schools. Fifteen people have been killed in recent days.

But a militant spokesman denied setting the hotel on fire.

"Our target is the security forces, we have nothing to do with the hotel," said the spokesman, Muslim Khan....

There's no fun in Islam.

You can't have people off skiing when they could be joining the jihad.

A prime tourist destination? In Pakistan? You gotta be kidding.

I would never ever go to any UMMAH countries as a tourist. Time and again you have seen non Muslims who go there, either as volunteer teachers or tourists, end up in a hell of a lot of trouble. Whats there to see but chaos and violence. Persecution of non Muslims, destruction of the natural beauty that is there. I mean F$#%K Islam creates hell and misery.

"An Islamic regime must be serious in every field. There are no jokes in Islam. There is no humour in Islam. There is no fun in Islam."

--Ayotollah Khomeini

More grimness and destruction emanating from the Islamic world. Nothing new. Same old same old.

I think the true-blue Believers all over the world deserve to know about the sky-high decadence now on view, behind closed doors and sometimes in public, in much of the Arabian Peninsula. Take a look, for example, at glossy, Las-Vegas-like Dubai. Shouldn't Muslims who are straying be brought back to their senses by a well-placed bomb or two in a Dubai skyscraper? What about bringing down a whole building in Dubai, just to let the straying Muslims who are now pouring their money into the place that they'd better get on the straight-and-narrow, and pronto?

And think what could be done by Western intelligence services with videos posted on the web of how members of the Al-Saud and their courtiers behave just as soon as they get on those planes - especially pictures of those women who pull off their stifling clothing, and what the men do when they hit southern Spain, or Monte Carlo, or London, or New York or Los Angeles -- well, if you have to ask, you can't afford it either.

Start making those tapes, of the Western girls, and sometimes boys, being rowed out to the yachts waiting off the coast of Spain, around Malaga and Torremolinos, where waiting for them, and waiting for their favorite form of recreation. And then start putting those tapes up on the Internet, or somehow make sure they come to the attention of the True-Blue Believers, so they can get sufficiently angry with the Al-Saud to start blowing things up.

Of course, if the Al-Saud would prefer that their fellow Muslims not have quite such graphic, easily transmitted evidence of their non-stop debauchery, then perhaps we can come to a little deal. Shall we say, twenty billion the first year, service included of course, with discussions about the right amount to be charged for allowing the ruling regime to stay in power so as to skim off the top a trillion or two.

Call it "protection money." Tell the Al-Saud, the As-Sabah of Kuwait, the Al-Thani of Qatar, the Al-Maktoum of Dubai, the Al-Nahayan of Abu Dhabi, and so many others, that they can consider such payments "protection money." And they, you see, will all be the "protected peoples." They'll understand. The phrase, for them, has a familiar ring.

Last Sunday AMC showed Hitchcock's remake of "The Man Who Knew Too Much" with Jimmy Stewart,Doris Day.

Viewers in the know had to appreciate that opening scene when Stewart's son stumbles while walking down the aisle of the bus and accidentally removes a women's veil. After all the hoopla had calmed down,Day exclaims: "But it was just an accident",to which she is replied: "I'm afraid in the Muslim religion there are no accidents." Hollywood no longer let's anyone get away with stating reality.

I don't think that there is anything in the Qur'an about skiing being haram.

Still, it's safer here in America, nobody has blown up a ski resort - yet.

And people say that the Muslims are never the first at anything. What about those suicide belts? What about being the first to blow up a ski resort?

Under the Shah ski resorts were built in and around the mountains to the north of Teheran. The golden youth is not quite as golden, but I think skiing still goes on, though mullahs make everything as unpleasant as they can.

I'd shut them all down, Shemshak, Dizin, all the rest. The Cinema Rex in Abadan was burned down by Shi'a militants, admirers and followers of Khomeini (who was inspiriing them from his French exile with speeches recorded on audiocassettes, then copied and distributed all over Iran) to make sure everyone would stay on the straight and narrow -- well, everyone but the 430 moviegowers burned alive inside, who were not given a chance to reform. So shut down those ski resorts. No fun for anyone under Islam. That's just one of the things that makes Islam so great.

If the prophet himself didn't ski, then it must be haram.

"A prime tourist destination? In Pakistan? You gotta be kidding."

It's all relative.

Pakistan has the Karakoram mountains, K2 and 7 other peaks over 8000 meters, it is beautiful. Of course, only the most courageous climbers go now, but before all this crap started (pre 2001) it was a busy place for climbers and the adventurous. I would have absolutely loved to have gone back then, but not now. I can remember reading in 1998/9 where an American climber and his girlfriend were attacked in their tent at the side of the road by ISlamofacists. HE was shot and she escaped somehow. She had to put shoepolish on her skin, wear a burka and sneak out with the help of some locals.

Burning down a ski lodge? Only destruction reigns as usual.

There is no fun in hell. And life under Sharia is Hell.

U-Tubing the Whoring and Boozing of the High And Pious. A most excellent Idea. Real home entertainment. A fortune awaits who ever creates a never ending series of "Muslims Gone Wild".

"The area is not under our control, it's under the militants' control and no one can go there," he said.

It's no less than the Pakistanis deserve.
A POLICE CHIEF says no one can go there?
Their policy of supporting "militants" is biting them in the fanny pack.

There is no recreation, fun, holidaying, or joking in Islam. There is however a huge demand for funeral directors.

Do the funeral directors ever get jealous?
Don't they ever wish they were the ones on their way to heaven that day?

/sarc off (I think)

"Jihadists torch ski resort hotel"

I guess we should be shocked and sorry for the death and destruction at this resort, but if the same thing occured at a Swiss resort, I wonder How much shock and sorrow you would find in Pakistan.

Islamic societies nurture this kind of sickness in their children, and hope to Allah that others will suffer from it, but when these monsters wreck havoc on them, they just can't seem to realize that they brought it down on their own heads. The fact that Islam is the problem never seems to dawn on them.

Somehow I see a new cartoon with Muhammad on skis in the near future.

"...was until last year a prime tourist destination with ancient Buddhist ruins, a golf course, trout streams and the ski resort.""

Since the Muslims have taken over, the ancient Buddist ruins are blown up, the golf course has been turned in to a firing range for the taliban, the trout streams are now polluted and the ski resort is torched and most likely never attact skiing tourists again...

see what happens when Muslims take over...Ban Muslim Immigration...yep.

"The area is not under our control, it's under the militants' control and no one can go there," he said.

Does this mean that we are free to go after the militants in that area? After all, Pakistan isn't claiming it; it is the country of "Militantland".

What a shame. Now all the millions of skiers who seek out Pakistan for their vacations will have no place to go.

...and where will the Pakistani Olympic skiers train?..

Muhammad didn't do any skiing either. Why should the believers be confused with such un-islamic activities?

But where else could Moslem skiers go for their sport? Everyone knows how nasty the dirty kaffirs are to Moslems in places like St Moritz and Chamonix, and Banff and Aspen.

A prime tourist destination? In Pakistan? You gotta be kidding.

Not at all. Stuff like this destination is very popular with the Wallpaper/WWD/Haute Living crowd.

They're starved for local color.

And Pakistan, as we all know, has plenty of it.

Warning Snowboarders will have opisit hands and feet cut off, then your eyes gouged out.

The article mentioned "ancient Buddhist ruins".

HOW ancient, I wonder? When exactly was the Swat valley Islamified, and by what means?

After all, 'Nuristan' in Afghanistan was 'Kafiristan' (i.e. 'country of the kafir, non-Muslims') until the late 19th century, when the Amir of Kabul attacked it and Islamified it by the usual method: invasion, occupation, mass murder, mass rape, mass enslavement, and 'conversion' of the terrified survivors, after which - with Orwellian irony - a plundered and desolated valley full of corpses, ruins, curses and angry ghosts was re-named 'Nuristan', 'Land of Light'.

Let's just allow ourselves to imagine, for a moment, what Swat might be like, if its indigenous Buddhists and animists had not been assailed and devoured by Islam.

Update on the Cairns Mosque: Residents Gutted!

http://sheikyermami.com/2008/06/27/cairns-imam-gets-his-mosque/

DUNN St residents are gutted and angry after an appeal to stop a mosque being built in their street was thrown out of court.

The proposed mosque had been the target of intensive opposition from residents and from an anti-Islamic website that was investigated by Australian Federal Police after it called on supporters nationwide to oppose the mosque.

Maybe Lake Placid? As a gesture of friendship to our good allies, the Pakistanis, President Bush will welcome the skiers to the Adirondacks. Incoming President Obama will continue the tradition. Anything to "improve America's reputation around the world".

sheik yer'mami: Thanks for the link. Too bad about the mosque go-ahead. I consider every new mosque that rises in any Western country as demonstrative of a most vicious spiritual cancer spreading into the body politic of a civilization that immensely eclipsed Islamic society but which is now in full suicidal mode. Most responsible here for this travesty is a very unholy trinity, which consists of politicians, academics and media types. Not good. The only phenomenon that can reverse this is a revolt by the people at large in Western countries. Once again, the best and the brightest are anything but.

This is all very upsetting to be sure (esp for the Ummah of skiers?), but given this sort of insanity, I don’t understand why we don’t do more, as JW-ers to counter the Islam-Jihad apologists in the MSM.
I have posted information about a recent article by Jonathan Power which needed rebuff, I thought (1), and recently sent to JW info about an article by Roger Cohen (2) in the International Herald Tribune (IHT), but so far no posting of it. Both of these articles effectively downplay the role that Jihad theology and ideology play in the modern world: which role JW is dedicated to bringing to public attention.
Should we not be doing more to counter the views of the Islamic-Jihad apologists in the MSM? Am I missing something here; am I wrong? Hugh once asked “what am I, a potted plant?” (3), presumably bemoaning the fact that his views had not been reflected in the MSM article in question.
By “rebuff”, I mean counter articles sent to the Op-ed pages by the likes of Robert, Hugh or Raymond, and JW-ers direct responses to the apolo-journalists. Surely it is in our interests and of free speech more broadly, of bringing attention to the theology and ideology of Jihad to wider public attention, to have our views more broadly reflected in the MSM. (I know, I know.… Robert, Hugh and Raymond have published widely – and I have read all of Robert’s books; but why not in the *international* journal of opinion, the IHT? I’ve just searched IHT.com and the only “Robert Spencer” was the chief prosecutor in the Zacarias Moussaoui case (!), but I guess that’s not “our” Robert….)

Muslims are building one of these fake ski resorts right on the Las Vegas strip. Dubai put billions into MGM also. They are buying up the strip.

"Pakistan has the Karakoram mountains, K2 and 7 other peaks over 8000 meters, it is beautiful. Of course, only the most courageous climbers go now, but before all this crap started (pre 2001)..." posted by Gymgal.

Y'know, this area referred to by Gymgal has an interesting history from the jihad point of view. This was a part of the territory of the Hindu Maharaja of Kashmir prior to 1947. When the British left, the Maharaja dithered whether he should cede to India or remain independent as he didn't trust Indian Prime Min ister Nehru, a man of marxist leanings. Pakistan solved the problem for him by invading his kingdom. He ceded to India but not before the Paki army and jihadis were at Srinagar's gates.

The Indian army got the invaders on the run but the Pakis called for a truce (Hudbeiya?) and Nehru referred the matter to the Useless Nations. The lines froze at the place of the cease fire (and remains petrified there as the Line of Control). This area is now more or less permanently lost to the jihadis.

A few small pockets of kafirs still exist (or existed) in some isolated valleys but are on the fast track to extinction, helped not a little by the local maulvi, his Friday congregations and the kalashnikov. Abducting kafir women is acceptable too as it advances the cause of the Great Jihad.

Some old timers in areas of Gilgit, Skardu etc still persist in optimism and try to keep alive the old traditions, as evidenced by a few forlorn books on sale in the Bhoti (Tibetan) script, as they stubbornly refuse to accept the Urdu-Farsi script.

So what else is new? What else is new?

"US report on Pakistan 'incorrect' "
By M Ilyas Khan
BBC News, Karachi

Pakistani military sources have rejected a US report which says the country may have misused more than $2bn given to it for the "war on terror".

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/south_asia/7473859.stm

Every day in Dar al Islam there are literally multiple incidents of ideologically-driven murder (jihad) that if they occurred in civilized countries would be remembered for decades. Think about the three little girls murdered by the Klan in the South in the early sixties that is routinely remembered in news features. In Dar al Islam, three such girls murdered by jihadists would barely get a notice--especially because they were girls.
