"Sometime you have to do violence to bring peace." What do you think he means by "peace"?
"Suspect said he was 'just chilling, reading the Koran,'" by Melissa Leong in the National Post, June 20 (thanks to Twostellas):
A young suspected terrorist told a police officer hours after he was arrested that violence was sometimes justified to bring peace. But during the police interrogation the youth seemed confused by allegations that his associates were making bombs to kill innocent people and claimed that a so-called terrorist training camp was a really a religious getaway to get in shape.
"The intent of the camp was wrong ... and you know that," RCMP Sergeant John Tost said.
The youth disagreed, saying that the campers were "just chilling, reading the Koran" and exercising because "some guys are lazy you know, they're gaining weight.
"For two weeks we just kind of worked out," he said of the December, 2005, trip....
The officer asked the youth -- who had recently converted from Hinduism to Islam -- whether he felt it was justified to use violence to spread a religious message.
"Sometime you have to do violence to bring peace," he answered.
"For example, let's say that the Americans, when they fought against the Russians right? If they were to sit down, say ... we got to do it peacefully, peacefully, peacefully, America would have been gone a long time [ago].
"Peace talks won't work. We have to put the physical effort. We have to plan 'B' to action."
But he admitted that he also thought deeply about the merits of discussion versus "the sword."
"I feel in my heart that it would be nice if you know we could ... just talk to people, sit down with them humbly, instead of, you know, because look at this ... I'm basically in like a prison right now."
Sgt. Tost told him his faith had been corrupted. He called the youth, who was barefoot and in jeans and a T-shirt, "respectful" and "well-raised."...
Sgt. Tost is, like so many Western non-Muslim judges and law enforcement officials, apparently an expert on Islam. He knows that it doesn't really teach warfare against unbelievers. Everyone, in fact, knows that -- except the Muslims who read the Qur'an carefully and take it seriously with an eye toward following its commands.
Sergeant Tost should resign, he should not be involved in counterterrorism work.
Perhaps writing parking tickets in the Yukon is more his cup o' tea.
"... with an eye towards following its commands..."
... in order that they may avoid Hellfire at the time of accounting when their meritorious works are judged, hoping for Mercy from Allah, to forgive their natural weaknesses.
trouble is, Allah can't be depended upon to be forgiving.
"For example, let's say that the Americans, when they fought against the Russians right?"
This war with the Russians must have happened while I was asleep. While the US did arm itself against the Russians, it didn't fight the Russians. It's primary 'weapon' against Soviet Russia was economic. After WWII it helped to build up the European economies and that of Japan. The US created alliances with both allies and former enemies and surrounded a drab Eastern bloc with a ring of prosperous countries.
Now just imagine if the Muslim world worked on developing its own society instead of trying to destablize others.
Sgt. Tost is, like so many Western non-Muslim judges and law enforcement officials, apparently an expert on Islam.
... from the article above.
Here's one: http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2001/09/20010917-11.html
This man has no business interrogating suspects with this kind of coaching and leading. Truly pathetic.
Toth reminds me of the many Democrats who say they'd have no problem voting for a devout Muslim as president.

See the "moderates" comment who are more concerned about Shaikh being an informant against Muslims then whether any of the accused are actually guilty, or as it appears to them, that they aren't.
Keeping the Truth hidden from us all is a Muslims full-time job. Mohammad taught his followers the Art-of-Lying well. Good going, Mo. You old coot!
"Suspect said he was 'just chilling, reading the Koran,'"
Well, the Koran does make pretty chilling reading, rather like reading about the "killing fields" in Cambodia, or the death camp at Auschwitz.
"Sometime you have to do violence to bring peace," he answered.
Reminds me of "Let us do evil so that some good may come"
I thought, "Just chilling, reading the Koran," was an admission by some Infidel (or secular Muslim) of their natural, rational reaction to discovering the will of Allah.
"Sometime you have to do violence to bring peace," he answered.
........................
Ah, yes, the "peace" of Islam--where anyone who would question that "peace" is either six feet under, or too terrified to speak up. Well, at least until the next declaration of takfir, anyway. Then you have to do more violence.
from above:
"I feel in my heart that it would be nice if you know we could ... just talk to people, sit down with them humbly, instead of, you know, because look at this ... I'm basically in like a prison right now."
....................
What a jibroni. The media always makes much of jihadis questioning the "way of the sword" and violent jihad--*while they're in prison*. This is no different than a common criminal regretting his crimes--right after he screws up and gets caught.
The idea that this sort of thing indicates a true change of heart is terribly ignorant of basic human nature. While arrest really does cause contemplation and reform on the part of a few criminals, many are right back to their old ways as soon as they are released.
Also, many criminals--and many jihadists--tell police and jail officials exactly what they want to hear: that they have learned the error of their ways.
Hah! Ebonystone, you beat me to it. I was going to note that there is more than one way to read, ". . . 'just chilling, reading the Koran'"
"Just chilling, reading the Koran"
Well, I would agree with that.
It was chilling, reading the Koran.
Sgt. Toast, indeed.
Mohammad, the false prophet, liked to chill, too. He was high on opium chillin' in his cave when he WROTE the Koran.
Just chilling ... reading the koran ... having a Bud.
Chillin like a villian
...like Mat Dillon on penicillin
Somehow, I just can't chill when I read the Qur'an. Maybe it's all that kill the infidel business in the Wholy (full of) Qur'an.
" Sometimes you have to do violence to bring peace"
chillin'muslim
I couldn't have said it better myself.
peace according to a muslim, for us infidels, is only one of these three options: death, conversion to islam, or subjugation to them (dhimmitude, basically like bullies in charge collecting bribes so they won't torture and/or kill you and/or your family!)
I am compiling a list of alternate definitions that muslims use to trick us. Their definitions aid them in their deception to us, and especially our children, as to what islam is all about.
muslim definitions for words:
peace - death, conversion or subjugation (dhimmitude, basically like bullies in charge collecting bribes so they won't torture and/or kill you and/or your family!) for infidels
peace treaty (hudna)- can only last for 10 years and is to be broken at anytime when the muslims are rearmed/regrouped
aggressor - only infidels are aggressors. Any actions (violent) by muslims is their right per the koran
oppressor - only infidels are oppressors if they do not allow themselves to be subjugated by muslims/sharia law
(modern day) Crusader - Christians who figured out what islam is all about and are telling others the facts of islam
honor - following the koran's teaching on this - and if it includes beating, raping, stoning, hanging, enslavement, - that is ok - it is what the koran says to do and it is considered honor for women to endure these actions.
Innocent - only muslims are innocent. No infidel is considered to be innocent.
If you have any new words that can be added to my list - just let me know.

Exactly what I thought when I first read the headline to the article. It's "chilling" as in hair-raising and horrifying, nothing else.
More information on the Said girls' murder. --posted above.
The proper term is Islamic honor-killing, also known as daughter-slaughter.
If I hear that idiotic line "your Muslim faith has been corrupted by extremists" one more time from some ignorant westerner...
I think I'll commit a violent act of prayer asking the Father in Jesus' name to give them insight to see Islam for what it is :)
"A young suspected terrorist told a police officer hours after he was arrested that violence was sometimes justified to bring peace."
Excellent example of the Muslim mentality. It turns the would upside down.
Violence brings peace.
Oppression of women brings equality.
Killing the innocent brings justice.
Suppression of non-Muslim is virtue
Good is evil
Evil is good
How can we ever deal with people like that?
Mister young suspected terrorist doesn't really have a feel for U.S. history. The only time we directly fought against the Russians is when we sent some troops to fight the Bolsheviks during their civil war/revolutionary period. That didn't work out the would have liked.
Of course, this isn't what he means. He's making a similar statement to "Peace through superior firepower" or some such. I think he's making a prediction that post Pax-Americana will come a period of Pax-Islamica.
The irony here is many on the political left see Pax Americana as a form of imperialism, yet seem blind to the imperial aspirations of an Islamic super-state.
We'll know we're getting somewhere in the war of self-defence against the Jihad, when Mr Spencer gets regular phone calls from the police asking him to come interrogate captured jihad plotters; or, even better, when the police and military training colleges give him regular gigs to train their people in the art of interrogating jihadi suspects. I'm sure he could teach our police officers and army officers how to spot taqiyya and kitman, and what the Islamspeak ('peace' 'innocent' 'guilty', and so on) really means.
Shoutout to Canadians.
The RCMP has a splendid reputation. I have no doubt that, were they to get their heads straight about Islam, they would be on the trail like hunting wolves, and the jihadis and their enablers would be trembling in their boots.
So: do any Canadians reading this personally know a Mountie? (Family member, friend, neighbour, fellow church goer, member of the same club?).
If so: you can see about obtaining one or more of the following: Spencer's 'Onward Muslim Soldiers', 'Truth About Muhammad', 'PIG to Islam and the Crusades', Raymond Ibrahim's 'The Al-Qaeda Reader', Stephen Coughlin's thesis 'To Our Great Detriment', and a range of other suitable books, the names of which are frequently dropped at this site. Throw in the DVD of 'Islam: What the West Needs to Know'. Present them to your Mountie friend, relative or fellow pew-sitter, so he will know everything he needs to know, in order to properly carry out his task of protecting Canada and Canadians.
Alternatively, Canadian jihadwatchers could club together to present a full set of counter-jihad literature (see booklist on this very site) to whatever institution it is that trains Mountie officers.
It might even be worth trying to get a copy of 'Onward Muslim Soldiers' for poor, innocent, ignorant RCMP sergeant John Tost.
"sometimes you have to do violence to bring peace' reminds me of the proffered Vietnam War defence:
"We had to destroy the village to save it."
Says it all really doesn't it. Totally nonsensical. What a sad brainwashed twat.
Darcy,
DAUGHTER-SLAUGHTER, what a fantastic term for honour killing. Just hits the nail right on the head.
RE: Link about Amina and Sarah above.
"Tissie [the mother] found a box of legal papers in English and Arabic. "This is all yours now," Tissie told Islam. Amina's "chalet," her computer, everything that belonged to the girls went to the oldest son, including the deed to the house on Lakeland Drive.
The house has been completely remodeled and the mortgage paid through July 1. The money came from donations by the Islamic Center, Kroger and people at the Lewisville High School.
The house sits empty, awaiting Islam [the brother/"oldest son"] and a bride from Egypt."
The End?
WTF????
"Her brother Islam had told their father that Sarah also had a boyfriend, and Yaser threatened to kill her too."
"Yaser and Islam kept strict watch over the girls to ensure they didn't disobey the command [no American boyfriends]."
"Islam, grew into a little hellion, calling his mother by her first name and ignoring Tissie's attempts at discipline. "He'd cuss you out," says Moggio. In their household, the pecking order was Yaser, Islam, Tissie and then the girls."
"The family had lined up on different sides: Yaser and Islam versus Amina and Sarah, with Tissie in the middle. The girls told their friends that their brother was weird, a loser who parroted his father's negative attitudes about America and women."
"At a Christian funeral before the Muslim ceremony, Islam demanded that the two boyfriends be prohibited from attending the service."
Kroger??
'concerned citizen' -
I assume Amina and Sarah's despicable brother is still strolling about the place?
If the Texas police knew what they were doing he would be getting the third degree - at the hands of a no-nonsense group comprising, say, Mr Spencer, Ali Sina, Phyllis Chesler, Wafa Sultan and Nonie Darwish. People who know Islam back to front; people who know Arabic; people who know Egyptian Muslim 'culture'. Great big policemen to keep him firmly confined so he can't attack the interviewers. No escape from the polite, patient, penetrating questions, and the cheerful, unflappable faces, and the eyes that see right through him. Note that four of the people I named have training in psychiatry or clinical psychology.
See how long it would take to catch him out in a checkable lie, under such conditions.
I feel sorry for any wretched Egyptian Muslim girl he marries.
I'll bet my bottom dollar he knows where his murderous dad is hiding.
Darcy,
DAUGHTER-SLAUGHTER, what a fantastic term for honour killing. Just hits the nail right on the head.

Oh, you hadn't heard that apt phrase? Glad I mentioned it.
"The girls told their friends that their brother was weird, a loser who parroted his father's negative attitudes about America and women."
Oh yeah. Someone named "Islam?" Says it all. I'm sure he's following in his father's Islamic footsteps of becoming a homicidal maniac.
Re Sarah and Amina: I just can't get over the way their mother betrayed them. It's so unnatural!
Why didn't she take those beautiful, precious girls and leave the monster she married, forever? The least she could have done was find a safe haven for her daughters, if not for herself.
I guess no one thinks such horrors will ever happen to them-- it's always the other guy, on the news, being wheeled away with a sheet over his face.
Looking at all the photos of the girls together, I understand, now, why they were so close. They were all each other had. Everyone else in the family was stupid and/or psychotic.
