A 17-year-old French Jew was attacked on Saturday night in Paris, an assault condemned by President Nicolas Sarkozy and said by Jewish organizations to be an act of anti-Semitism.The young man, identified as Rudy Haddad by one Jewish organization, was attacked by youths of African origin, a police source said, and the National Agency of Vigilance Against Anti-semitism said he had been attacked with iron bars.
Police said five youths had been held for questioning, and one police source told Reuters the victim was suffering "serious neurological problems."
The Union of French Jewish Students said Haddad had been identified as Jewish because he was wearing a kippa (skullcap), and had suffered several broken ribs and a fractured skull and was in intensive care at a hospital in central Paris.
"The victim was wearing a kippa and was on his way back home when his attackers, after identifying him as Jewish, started to beat him," the union said.
The number of attackers was not known, varying from 6 or 7 to 30, depending on sources. Haddad's father told French radio RTL there were around 15 attackers.
Two police sources said the attack took place right after a skirmish between two groups of youths, one Jewish and the other of North African origin. They said it was unclear whether Haddad had taken part in the confrontation.
They said such skirmishes were a regular feature in the multi-confessional Buttes Chaumont neighbourhood in the 19th arrondissement of Paris....
The normal reaction from the religion of peace. European leaders do not seem to notice these events and the link to the evil ideology of Islam, which is the direct cause of this attack on non Muslims. The Koran directs Muslims not to take Christians and Jews as friends because they are apes and pigs.
Do you think the Europeans will ever "get it"? Anti-semitism is destructive to non-jews, but an anti-islam consciousness is protective to all -- including the muslims left after the response begins in earnest.

Skirmishes. A lame word to describe attacks such as this one, which has left this boy in intensive care with a fractured skull and "serious neurological problems." What a brave group of muslim thugs, 6 or 7 or 15 or 30 against one.
That news report made the TF1 20:00 news last night in France and was mentioned before, during and after Sarkozys visit to Israel.
Everyone knows it was Muslims who attacked him even though they did keep quiet on who the attackers were, I was pretty sure they said Africans, I did not pick them up saying North Africans, but then again quite a lot of Africans in France are Muslims too.

A question for anyone...anyone..isn't "Haddad" an Arabic name? A friend of mine's first husband was a Haddad and he was supposedly an Arab.
I believe that the Qur'an is pretty specific about this - the "North African" youths are just practicing their religion.

I'll tell you the easy way to deal with these muslim scum:
1. Put surveillance on any Jews brave enough to walk the streets. Make sure to catch everything on video, for evidence purposes.
2. Have a group of twenty elite special force troops hiding out nearby.
3. When the muslim scum start attacking the Jew, the special force troops will storm them with billy clubs.
4. (Oops, the camera quit working..)
5. Haul the scum to jail, and throw the book at them. If they aren't citizens, deport them AT ONCE!
They could select certain Jews who are willing to be bait, and in this way, they can catch LOTS AND LOTS of scumbags.
Skirmish?? That's a football term isn't it? Or maybe it's scrimmage. A skirmish or a scrimmage is still an attack. 6-7-15, or 30 to one is about right for Islamic skirmishers. No one in the group is trying to prove manhood. They are doing what an Iman suggested a while back, that muslims should beat up Jews and Christians, (especially Jews). Hit them on the head and take their money, he said.
Many don't need to be told to act like that, they get their clues from the Quran, and the traditions of Mohammad. And they reinforce these beliefs to each other. That's why they attack in gangs and hardly ever alone, unless well armed and by surprise. Fifteen men with iron bars, do not attack one Jew without full knowledge and intent. Intent to do great bodily harm or death. These attackers were not identified as muslims, but seeking out a Jew to attack was not random selection. Only muslims and Nazi's have an interest in killing Jews in the street. I doubt there are many 'youths of African origin' that are Nazi's, living in Paris.

This was reported on NPR this morning - with the "explanatory" comment that "Anti-Semitic incidents have been more frequent in France in recent years, as tensions have risen in the Middle East." You see, the arabs in France are just sticking up for their poor persecuted brethren in Palestine. That the koran teaches anti-Semitism has nothign to do with this....

CBS radio news covered this not as "North African youths", but just "youths". I don't know how many times they repeated "youths", it was almost like an inside joke the way they kept saying "youths". And at the end of the story, they bizarrely started talking about the frustration Muslims feel in France because they are not integrated, and about how Jewish/Muslim relations were strained because of "Israeli tensions". Why were they suddenly talking about Muslims when this story supposedly had nothing to do with them?
Strange days indeed.
And I guess it was just fortuitous that the "youths" happened to check their pockets and to their surprise found that there were iron crowbars in there. Obviously to me at least, the "youths" went out with the intention of attacking "Jews"; the part about Haddad "[taking] part in the confrontation" is just gratuitous blaming of the neurologically damaged victim.

Sounds like France needs its own Reconquista and its own Pelayo. Only when its Muslims have been removed completely from that country will the native French know peace. If this is what it is like with a 10% Muslim population today, think of what things will be like 25 years from now with a 20%-plus population, or 50 years from now when its Muslim population hits 50% or so. The Finnish writer Jussi Halla-Aho recently noticed that iron bars are often involved in violent crimes perpetrated by immigrants. Where do they find these iron bars so easily? Like H-A, I have no idea where I'd find one if I suddenly needed to.

Yes, just skirmishes between groups, a common thing. Just a couple of gangs fighting it out. Enough blame to go around; It's not as though Muslims go around attacking solitary Jews, or maybe kidnapping them and torturing them.
I don't know what the requirements are, for a yarmulke or kippah, but it seems to me like Paris might offer a market niche for a slightly larger than normal version... in three layers. Outer layer as usual; inner layer nice and soft next to the head; middle layer, fine steel, suitably tailored. Inspired by the hard hat that one sees on construction sites.
And it really is beginning to look as though a young Jew trotting off to the rabbi to prepare for his bar mitzvah, should ALSO be signing up for professional classes in any one or more of the following: krav maga, tae kwon doe, ju jitsu, kung fu, karate, judo, fencing, use of the quarterstaff?
Any French Jews got contacts in the countryside? Gentile friends willing to teach gun skills by taking little Moshe or Shimon and their dads, along on the expedition when it's hunting season?

I saw that too. As I read the article, my interpretation was that there was a 'skirmish' and then young Haddad was attacked after he had separated from his group.
But I would bet my bottom dollar that whatever the initial 'skirmish' involved, the Muslims were the aggressors.
The reporting here is exactly identical to the way in which the attacks by Muslims on Copts in Egypt were reported, earlier this month. Check out, for example, the Associated Press report, as reproduced by Jerusalem Post:

I'll put just the first paragraphs here, with a more truthful wording supplied inside brackets.

If you check out the Copt version on 'Sons of Apes and Pigs' you discover that it was a massive and brutal assault initiated by a large and well-armed Muslim mob, in which the most the Christians did was to attempt (not very effectively) to defend themselves.
Australia's national news broadcaster reported an AFP version which subtly made out the Christians to be the aggressors:

Note the final, weaselwording paragraph with its sly suggestion of moral equivalence:
"Tensions often run high between Egypt's Muslim and Christian communities in an increasingly religious society dominated by Sunni Muslims".
(A more truthful reporter would have written: 'IN a rapidly Islamising society dominated by Sunni Muslims, Muslims often attack the Christian community').
Similarly, if one reads carefully a report about jihad in west papua, also from the Australian national news, you find the same 'equivalencing' and delicate references to 'religious conflict' and 'tensions'; the article is subtly slanted to suggest that both sides are equally to blame, as in gang warfare, rather than that the MUSLIMS might be the aggressors.
