Local police officials said unknown militants detonated a four-room girls middle school, which completely destroyed the school building. Dir Bala police have registered a case and started investigation.

turn the question around....what happens to an European woman who goes to a Major Muslim country and insists on wearing western style dresses and no head covering, clearly she is not forcing Christianity upon the Muslims. she is a threat only in the minds of Muslims bent on world domination....why, the Muslims may just kill her...the Muslims are saying you must dress like us when you are in our country or else...it is only fair and correct that the Muslim women must then dress according to customary clothing of the host country where they have immigrated to...If the Muslim women are forced to abide by the host countrys ways the Muslims usually react violently...their demands are attempts to force Islam upon you..the Muslims will react violently if their demands are not met..they have done so on many occassions.

complete rubbish -There are 53 Muslim countries - thats only true in 2 of them Saudi and Iran and even then not always ( I saw American expat women walking around without hijabs). Other than those countries Muslim women dont have to wear hijab.
Hunderds of thousands of western women go to Muslim countries like Morroco, Dubai, Egypt , Gambia and never wear hijab. Your ignorance is astounding.

The difference is that one is violent and destructive and the other isn't. The women in Turkey are not "denied" an education; they can go if they simply take off the hijab.
The girls in Pakistan can not go to school now, even if they wanted, because it was BLOWN UP! Huge difference there.
Secondly, why haven't you told us where you got that remarkably tolerant and egalitarian quote from the sex-slave owning, tribe-beheading, 6-year old marrying, critic-assassinating warlord?
According to the CIA the literacy rate in Turkey for those over age 15 is 80% for females and 95% for males. We may wonder why the difference. And if we look at the demographics for an older age group (which I can't locate at the moment, but have seen) the difference is far more striking -- less than 40% for elderly women.
As for the young women who say that their right to a university education has been denied to them due to the banning of the headscarf, why do they now feel the need to wear one whereas all through elementary and secondary school they did not wear one? Is it sexual maturity that brings their angst and piety to the fore? Or a growing rebelliousness, typical of the early twenties? Obviously, they cannot say that they are used to wearing the headscarf in school settings. Why were they able to go to high school without a headscarf but cannot attend university without one?
Other factors are at work here, obviously.
