The Friendswood Junior High principal who outraged some parents by allowing an Islamic group to make a 40-minute presentation to students last month is now off the job.
Come on, Houston Chronicle. It wasn't just any Islamic group. It was the unsavory unindicted co-conspirator CAIR.
In a two-sentence statement sent late Wednesday, the school district said Robin Lowe "has accepted another administrative position effective immediately."The news drew relief from some who were incensed by the May 22 presentation and concern from others who considered the assembly a good way for students in the predominantly Anglo Christian school to learn about other cultures.
About 875 seventh- and eighth-grade students attended the presentation given by two women with the Council on American-Islamic Relations in Houston, according to the school district.
The president of the nonprofit council, Tarek Hussein, said he contacted Lowe about conducting an educational presentation after hearing from a father who said his son was physically attacked at the school because he is Muslim.
"It was physical harassment. I believe the boy has a medical report," Hussein said, declining to provide details of the incident because he did not have the family's consent.
Officials with CAIR have described the presentation as "Islam 101." But parents and community members began flooding the district with complaints after the assembly became a hot topic on Houston talk-radio station 950 AM....
Is it possible to "suspend" Robin Lowe, rather than move her to a new job in the district to cause the same sort of trouble?
Can't the ACLU threaten the district with a lawsuit? This is a clear example example of a violation of the establishment clause in the US Constitution. Where is the ACLU or for that matter, Americans United for the Separation of Church and State?

It is good that this kind of citizens' action takes place to put paid to the propagandizing efforts of Muslims, including those of CAIR, to present a view of Islam that would gladden the heart of any Saudi cleric or, for that matter, of Karen Armstrong or John Esposito.
If any visitors to this site know any of those who participated in the protest of this outrage, they might wish to send them some of the material at this website.
For example, there is "Islam For Infidels" which, like Roman Gaul, comes in three parts.
And then there are many books, including those by Robert Spencer that are deliberately aimed at a wide audience. Why not take the CAIR-prompted occasion to learn, and then have other parents learn, about Islam, for the most important weapon of self-defense, at this point, is pedagogy. The more you know about Islam, its texts and tenets and the attitudes it fosters, the less foolable and more vigilant you will become.
And that is what CAIR and other Muslim groups hate, the idea that you should find out, and not from them, what is contained in the Qu'ran, the Hadith, the Sira.
So read a book, or two, for the Big Gipper.

If this assembly presented a variety of CULTURES (e.g. Japanese, Chinese, native American, etc), I would be all for it.
But this assembly was focused on indoctrinating students to ISLAM -- and ONLY Islam.
Regarding the pretense that this was in response to an "attack" on a Moslem student, one of the parents points out that an altercation between two students should not result in the entire student body being yanked out of class.
And, keep in mind we don't have any details about what actually happened in this supposed attack. It may very well be that the Moslem was the instigator.
I love the fact that the CAIR spokesman is able to get away with the statement "I believe the boy has a medical report." This should have been easily verifiable by the writer.
I posted some of these responses to a liberal "news" website, and was ripped to shreds.
I find it strange how many liberals who want to celebrate their "freedoms" in everyone's face, are so eager to relinquish those same freedoms in dhimmitude to Islam.
If a Principal forced the entire school to sit through a lecture on Christian doctrine, these same liberals would be screaming bloody murder.
But, if its a religion whose goal is to subjugate them and remove all freedoms, they are totally gung-ho.

These stories, like the supposed death threats against TIZA administrators, require no proof at all and far too many in the West are more than happy to capitulate.
Firing the principal would have been more appropriate discipline... If our PC crowds insist on separation of church and state, then separation of mosque and state immediately applies here too! Islam is not exempt!
When your child is assaulted. and needs medical attention, you are obliged to file a POLICE report. Then, there would be no question as to the facts. I seems that was not done here. A putative medical report proves nothing.
It is apparent from the comments section of such articles that too many Americans remain ignorant of current events and of Islam.

Tarek Hussein, president of Houston's chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) is on a no fly list.

She was 'promoted'? Is this the 'Peter Principal' in action? Has she been 'kicked' upstairs? Did she get a monetary raise? Will she write a book?
Education is a self regulating industry, no-one ever gets fired from admin positions...unless of course they threaten the internal hierarchy.
I was euphoric when our daughter graduated from High School...free at last!

The Muslims always seem to whine about threats or actual physical abuse but no evidence is presented. It's like the Islamic school housed in a mosque beside the recruiting Muslim American Society. After the news turned up some Islamic indoctrination the directors immediate said they were threatened with violence. However, the only violence committed was by two Muslims who belonged to the school who beat up a news photographer.
