Turkey: "The women communicating with strange men should speak in a manner that will not arouse suspicion in one’s heart"

Does the internet site of Turkey's Director of the Religious Affairs give a hint of the Sharia provisions that are coming to Turkey in the near future?

"Women React To The Religious Directives On 'Sexual Life,'" by Nilüfer Zengin for Bia News Service, May 28 (thanks to Morgaan Sinclair):

Kızbeş Aydın, the head of Çiğle Evka2 Women’s Culture House Association (ÇEKEV), Zozan Özgökçe from Van Women’s Association and Ayşegül Kanat, a feminist from Adana, are upset at the information about sexual life located at the internet site of the Director of the Religious Affairs. The religious directives found on the internet site say the following:

“The women communicating with strange men should speak in a manner that will not arouse suspicion in one’s heart and in such seriousness and dignity that they will not let the opposite party misunderstand them, that they should not show their ornaments and figure and that they should cover in a fine manner; and that these are the orders. His highness the Prophet Mohammed did not think kindly of women who put on perfumes outside their homes and go strolling and saw this as immoral behavior.”

“Male violence is legitimized”

We asked women about the speech of the Director of the Religious Affairs regarding the woman, sexuality and “morality”…

Kızbeş Aydın, the head of Çiğle Evka2 Women’s Culture House Association:

“The Director of the Religious Affairs is not an institution authorized to give opinions on matters involving religious affairs. Therefore, I do not find these explanations appropriate. These explanations work directly towards deepening the sexual inequality and they become part of the discrimination directed at women.”

“These explanations provide the groundwork for the violence against women, they legitimize it, and they justify the implementation of violence with excuses such as “she has perfume” or “she dressed up provocatively”....

Indeed -- we have seen that elsewhere. Read it all.

"His highness the Prophet Mohammed"?

Did Mohammed get a promotion? Is he now prophet and king? I took the weekend off and, suddenly, the prophet (BBOH) has gained a new title. Who'd a thunk it?

Just because the prophet for all ages had pretty teenaged wives and right hand possessions, doesn't mean that muslim gals should have to appear in black cotton body bags and "should speak in a manner that will not arouse suspicion in one’s heart".

Turkey slowly slips into darkness........

You can blame Turkish women for this. They are the ones...tools that they are, who demanded to be allowed to wear the hijab in the universities. They are the bullies who got in the faces of secular women, many of whom did not see what the big deal was about a woman's right to "choose" the hijab. Well, look at Iran, ladies, and weep. It IS possible within one generation to go hurtling backwards in time by several centuries.

Good word, you two.

"His highness the Prophet Mohammed..."

He's doing pretty well for a dead guy, isn't he?

I'm glad he isn't buried here, in the US. I'm not sure I'd like whomever he would for in the Presidential election.

Thanks for the link, darcy.

Thatssome link and yet american women keep marrying muslims its astonishing.

Well, I was going to comment on 'His highness the Prophet Mohammed', but others already beat me too it. The writer falled to put (PBUH) behind Mo's name. Maybe if you put 'His Highness' first you don't have to put (PBUH) at the end. Any way, 'His highness' is a new one on me.

From article: “The Director of the Religious Affairs is not an institution authorized to give opinions on matters involving religious affairs.

I love that one...a prime example of Islamic logic, and Islamic mathematics. The uncanny ability to add two and two and come out with 22.

Thanks for the link, darcy.

You're welcome. It is unbelievable - Mohammedan fathers, uncles, brothers - text messaging their daughters, nieces, sisters to kill themselves!

Oh, the Mohammedan male is such a Savage. A Barbarian. A Savage Barbarian.

Hey Dhimmi Dan Sutherland - you lurking, you utter and complete Dhimmi fool?

His Lowness, the Islamic "prophet" Mohammed.

Low. So Low. As low as Satan.

Ah, yes, killings. Turkish women, take a look at Iraq and the superiour values of islam. Remember the girl in Basra beeing killed by her father because she worked with a dirty stinking unbelieving male Brit? Now her mother is dead. She dared to divorce the man who killed her daughter.
The bloody footprints of islam. Mercyless killing machine. But hey, enviromentalists and gaia-huggers: Isn`t that just your way to solve percieved "overpopulation"?

Sorry. I`m in bad mood today.

Someday, a memorial should be built to all the women who have died to "cleanse" the honor of the Islamic "family".

The level perversion in such societies is sickening. They find arousal in almost anything. It's no wonder they cover up the women, and they hypocritically claim to be morally superior to America and Europe. Look at the top countries looking for porn on the internet:

http://www.google.com/trends?q=sex

http://www.google.com/trends?q=sexy (The top 6 countries in the list are muslim majority or have large muslim populations)

You can look for any other explicit term and the top countries remain almost the same, and always with a clear muslim majority.

Wafa keeps on delivering the blows of death on Islam! The Spirit of Asmaa bint Marwan lives on!
This is so chock fulla quotey goodness, she must have been picking bits of Mohammed's flesh out of her teeth many satisfying days after this interview. Dayamn, woman!

“she has perfume” or “she dressed up provocatively”....from headline.

My husband loves it when I wear perfume and wear clothing that flatters my figure, and he is secure enough to enjoy it when other men check me out while we're together - and he doesn't BLAME me for whatever thoughts may or may not be swirling around in some guys mind because that's a guys choice, not a woman's fault.

If I wore a gunny-sack out to dinner, then my husband would sit at a different table - ha ha! Women should be proud of how God made them, and so should their husbands; and neither should be taught to feel ashamed of their God-given figures. This is just plain stupid, especially since there are more important things to take issue with.

Champ,

Too funny! And very relevant. Shows the absolute insecurity of these muslim zombie male koranimals!

Right on, Boneshack! LOL! And who cares what ole Mo the false prophet-of-god thinks anyway; and he sure is one to talk about holiness and proper behavior, considering the fact that he slept with a 9 year old CHILD and murdered like 900 people. Wearing perfume and form-fitting clothing hardly seems like a crime compared to his mindblowing sins.

The great prophet only needed to desire any woman and then proclaim that Allah had directed him to take her for a wife...tada! A moral relationship!?!?

Its funny Robert Spencer quotes this when Jesus (pbuh) who he claims to follow said

"But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart. If your right eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell."

But ignore the beams in their own eyes are what Christians are about

Oh go away istanbulnotconstantinople

First, you obviously can't understand that Jesus/ Yeshua is using shocking metaphors to drive home a point; he doesn't literally mean that his hearers should cut off their own hands or pluck out their own eyes!

Second, this text demonstrates very clearly the radical difference between the way in which Yeshua, Jesus, every inch a Jew, understood personal responsibility, and the way in which Islam understands it (in fact, I don't think Islam 'understands' personal responsibility, at all).

Yeshua's teaching, recorded by the Gospel writer, places the responsibility for a man's actions, on the man himself. It focuses on the man's own eye, the man's own hand, and on what is going on inside the man's 'heart'. It DOES NOT place any responsibility on the woman the man is looking at. It doesn't blame the woman AT ALL. It has nothing to do with her!

Yeshua of Nazareth is using poetic exaggeration - 'if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out' - in order to exhort men to EXERCISE HEROIC SELF-CONTROL.

He's basically telling men - if you feel lust, DON'T KEEP LOOKING AT HER. If you feel lust - DON'T GRAB.

Good commonsense advice. And he obviously thinks - unlike Islamic clerics - that men should be able to control themselves when they see a beautiful woman pass by in front of them.
