RABAT (AFP) - Thirty-five alleged recruiters for Al-Qaeda operations in Algeria and Iraq were arrested by police in Morocco, where they are also accused of planning attacks, the Moroccan news agency said Wednesday.
"This network recruited and sent around 30 candidates for suicide operations in Iraq and three volunteers to fight alongside members of Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb," police told Map.
The suspects allegedly belong to a Salafist group, Salafiya Jihadiya -- a security source told AFP -- and have links to Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb, as well as Al-Qaeda movements in Lebanon, Syria and Turkey.
"The suspects were also planning acts of terror in Morocco," Map's source said.
This is the third such group Morocco has said to have broken up since the beginning of the year.
The latest arrests took place in Tangiers, Larache, Oujda, Tetouan, Rabat, Khouribga and Fes, a security official told AFP.
Moroccan police in February announced the arrest of 36 people alleged to have been part of an Islamist network led by Belgian-Moroccan Abdelkader Belliraj.
Once again, we have Muslims arresting other Muslims, this time in Morocco This is a pattern repeated on almost a daily basis. What other religion produces this situation by which adherents of a particular faith have to arrest fellow believers for trying to carry out criminal activity in the name of their faith? Do you think it might begin to dawn on a lot of Muslims that there's something endemically wrong with their religion? Nah. It couldn't be that, now could it?

you would think that sooner or later Muslims might look around and discover that almost all their misery is caused by other Muslims spouting off at the mouth quoting verses from the Qur'an. You might think the Muslims would discover that whenever foreign troops show up it is because those Muslims from those violent Muslim groups are shooting at them. You would think Muslims might recognized the fact that all those suicide bombings that kill their families and friends are, in fact, caused by Muslims quoting verses from the Qur'an. you would think the Muslims might realize that the Muslim religious police kill way more Muslims than they do infidels. You might think that Muslims might realize that only those foul mouthed Muslims quoting from the Qur'an are the only ones taking their children away for either wives or soldiers. you might think Muslims would realize that only those Muslims quoting verses from the Qur'an are the only ones taking their money, closing their businesses, and just plain robbing them.
if Muslims would only take the time to think, but Muslims will be Muslims, it has always been that way..and as long as no one fights back, it will remain just that way..you would think.

There are aspects about the math in this story (35 recruiters, 30 or so recruits) I find troubling. If the numbers are to be believed, then it appears that the process of suicide recruitment is an intensive one-on-one procedure. This seems reasonable, given the consequences of dematriculation. This also means the process is fragile, somewhat inefficient, and probably very time consuming and intense. Disrupting and interfering with such processes is a good strategy, bearing a high likelihood of success. It is well and good to impede Muslims from blowing us up. This fragility would probably partially explain why we've had success (so far) in preventing "suicide operations" in America.
That is salutory, but it also means that it will become far harder to mount anti-Jihad sentiment in the West as Muslim murderousness can be suppressed. Even with rampant Muslim violence across the globe, it's proven difficult to awaken humans to the menace of Islam. It isn't only their murderousness which we should be opposed to. The menace of Islam well transcends their ability to harm and murder us as individuals -- the true menace of Islam lays in Islam's capacity to subvert rot and destroy our society like a cancer. Individual deaths are a horror to be sure, but how much worse is the murder of our enture civilization by the Muslims?! They harm and eventually seem to annihilate nearly every society they have infected. Only Spain, and perhaps Israel, have turned back their bloody hand, and those nations appear increasingly vulnerable as Muslims set about to reclaim them.
If procedures prove effective at limiting the most vicious of their atrocities, and we must do as much as we can to limit their wanton destructiveness, then the subtler forms of Muslim insurrection and subversion will flourish, and be that much harder to defend against.far too few listen now to our warnings about the Muslims - how much harder will it be to sound the siren if/when the bloodiest Islamic calling cards are suppressed, but all the other mechanisms of Jihad remain intact? In the end, Muslims will continue to make destructive inroads, and perhaps will even be assisted in their treasons by our successes in suppressing their most murderous impulses.
And these recruiters recruited the bombers and soldiers by showing them what? By telling them what?
