Copts to rally in front of White House

Hopefully this will lead to better awareness of the Copts' dire situation in Egypt. "American Egyptian Coptic Christians to organize a peaceful demonstration, on July 16, 2008, in front of the White House, to protest violent attacks against Coptic Christians in Egypt," contact: Mounir Bishay, 310-641-3387.

MEDIA ADVISORY, from the Christian Newswire, July 10: Coptic Organizations in America along with activists from Egypt, the Middle East, Europe and the United states, will conduct a peaceful demonstration in front of the White House on Wednesday July 16, 2008, from 12:00 noon to 4:00 pm. The purpose is to convey, to world's opinion and international human rights organizations, recent incidents of persecution, discrimination and marginalization inflicted on Coptic Christians of Egypt by the Egyptian government and Muslim extremists.

The Copts of Egypt are the largest Christian minority in the Middle East. They number about 15% of Egypt's population of 80 million. Not a month passes by without their churches, homes and businesses being attacked. According to a study made by Ibn Khaldoun Research Center in Cairo, over 240 major attacks against the Copts took place during the period from 1972- 2003. Magdy Khalil, a writer and researcher, estimates that as a result of these attacks more than 4000 Copts were killed or injured. This, in addition to damages to Coptic properties that could exceed hundreds of millions of dollars, during the last three decades alone. Hundreds of Coptic girls are abducted and forced to embrace Islam while security forces act as accomplices and helpers of the criminals.

During the last few weeks, the extremists attacked a jewelry store owned by Copts killing four Copts. The extremists also attacked Abu Fana Coptic monastery injuring many monks and kidnapping three. The abducted monks were tortured, while they were ordered to announce abandoning their Christian faith and embracing Islam. In Fayoum, Muslim extremists attacked homes and businesses owned by Coptic Christians. A Coptic Christian man was killed by Muslims in the town of Dafash, governorate of Minia, in the southern part of Egypt.

We call on the American and International Media, human rights organizations and all freedom loving people to join our demonstration in an effort to send a message to the Egyptian government to stop persecuting the Copts and take responsibility in providing adequate protection for them.

We know the White House is aware of this...but it conflicts with their position on 'the hijacking of a peaceful religion' and puts a damper on building a coalition for their war on islam, uh, I mean terror (same thing).

Just imagine if the situation in South Africa were ignored in the 1980s, or Zambia, etc.

I have already contacted my local Coptic Church to make a donation for those making the journey. They did not say if any of their members were going, but they agreed to accept the gift.

Bush probably thinks that Copts are the people who make copters.

If he didn't need American votes, Bush would well take Sahada and join his extended family in Riyadh. Oh, don't ask me for "evidence". If nothing else, look at Bush's terrorist allies in "war-on-terror":
Saudi Arabia.
Pakistan.
What does that say about POTUS/commander-in-chief & terrorism?

Taking note of the final paragraph of the above article: yes, it should not just be Copts in front of the White House on July 16, but 'all freedom-loving people'.

Every USA jihadwatcher/ dhimmiwatcher who lives within reasonable travelling distance and can get the day off, or is retired or otherwise at liberty, should be there.

Here's your chance to stand up and be counted.

The Copts held a demonstration in Sydney, Australia, just this last weekend; had I still been living in Sydney, nothing would have stopped me from joining them.

I'm betting it won't have any effect on the president or state department. After all, the persecution doesn't seem to bother very liberal churches who are more interested in the po' po' po' Palestinians (oppressed by the big bad Jew Jackboots of Apartheidistan Israel). Did a great number of Christian pastors scream out for justice on behalf of their brutalized brethren when Arafat's Goon Squads took them and their church hostage in Bethlehem a few years back? Or was there a hint of outrage at the cruel injustice when the Israelis let the terrorists go? If the majority of Christians who dedicate themselves and finances to getting newer and bigger Mall Churches (food courts!) and not to the garbage people of Egypt, why should the State Department or the President care about their plight, either?

Don't expect the press to cover it or even liberal bloggers to comment on it either. Because the truth runs counter to what the press and its liberal hangers want to propagate about Islam.

The State Dept is either run by the Saudis or by Arabists given their repeated turning a blind to the plight of non-Muslims living in Islamic lands and its policy allowing any Saudi to come to the U.S. just by filling out a online visa application and not having to worry about a background check.

Lastly asking the McChurch Christians to be concerned and act as voice for those oppressed by Muslims is a lost cause. Those folk are too busy turning Jesus into a money changer to care.

waitc, jewel -

please don't assume that *all* Christians in the USA belong to 'mcchurch'. Stop with the defeatist cynicism.

If you belong to a church yourself, or if you have any churchgoing friends or relations, just keep on jumping up and down, and refuse to be quiet, re. Muslim persecution of non-Muslims. You'll find allies eventually.

"I have yet seven thousand who have not bowed the knee to Baal".

We do not know exactly how many people read and lurk here, each day.

Among those many who read but do not post, there may be sincere and devout Christians who live in and around Washington, and are - for various reasons - at liberty to take part in this demonstration, and will do so.

Don't write off the entire American Christian population in advance.

I shall be praying for a good turnout on July 16th.

Perhaps I will mosey my way down to the metro station and catch a ride and see what is going down on the 16th.

If my memory is correct, the last time copts did this the Egyptian embassy sent in some "goons" to rough up some folks and defaced some of the buses the Copts used to get to the demonstration. I could be wrong however...it is so hard to remember all these various muslim rampages..

We need an American desk at the State Department
We also need NOT a woman like Condi .... who has her chip on her shoulder about Selma
making people like the Palestinian believe .... They are like her fighting for freedom ....remember her words to THEM
when she talked to them about how much she remembers her days .... linking Abbas to Martin Luther King... etc..

Now tell us good Alert just what does that have to do with the Copts in front of the White House? My car has white upholstery and that doesn't have anything to do with the story either. Could you at least try to stay on topic?

muslim_watcher,

- The United States has provided Egypt with an annual average of over $2 billion in economic and military foreign assistance since 1979.

Why? For Yasser Arafat? Aiman Al-Zawahiri? Mohammad Atta? Why is the White House aiding America's enemy, Egypt, with hard-working American's hard-earned tax dollars? The White House took no action against the countries involved in 9/11 (Aiman Al-Zawahiri, the co-founder of Al-Qaeda, was an activist of Muslim Brotherhood, which was founded in Egypt). Instead, White House took the terrorist countries involved in 9/11, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, as "allies" in the phony "war-on-terror", while continuing annual aid of 2 bil to Egypt. Add to that Bush family adopting prince Bandar Bin-Sultan as "Bandar Bush", escorting Bin-Ladens out of US, when all flights acorss US were grounded, blackening pages on Saudi Arabia, from 9/11 interim report, and a consistent pattern of aiding islam, against American interests, emerges. With Bush in wahhabbi back-pockets, what do you think the wahhabbis won't make Bush, who has the power to do so much, with wealth, arms and policy, do for the "ummah"?
Put differently, connect these dots:
- Egypt.
- Muslim Brotherhood.
- Aiman Al-Zasahiri, Mohammad Atta.
- Al Qaeda.
- Bin-Laden.
- Saudi Arabia/wahhabbis.
- Bush.
- White House.
- Aid to Egypt.
See how the circle comes around?
Looking at it differently, if Bush really cared for America, after 9/11, he would have:
- Suspened international relations with Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan and Pakistan.
- Put the above countries on notice.
- frozen assets of the above countries, in US.
.. and much more.
yet, Bush did the opposit. He declared "Islam is Peace" and took the prime perpetrators, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, as "allies". Thanks to Bush's consistent prtection for Islam, Egypt continues to oppress Coptic Christians, while enjoying an annual jazia of 2 bil.
See what Bush's favour for Islam, has to do with Copts in Egypt?
