The three men and two other defendants -- Ibrahim Savant, 27, and Umar Islam, 30 -- also admitted to "conspiring to cause a public nuisance'' by creating videos threatening suicide bomb attacks.
The five men, along with three other defendants are accused of targeting at least seven airliners heading to Canada and the U.S. in 2006.
The two Air Canada flights were bound for Montreal and Toronto.
All of the men are British with ties to Pakistan.
Prosecutors say the group wanted to kill hundreds of passengers using bombs concealed in soft drink bottles.
The men were close to carrying out their plan but were arrested in August 2006, alleges the Crown.
Although Ali, Sarwar and Hussain admitted to conspiring to cause explosions the men said they weren't targeting planes from London to North America.
Ali and Sarwar told the court they were getting the weapons together to stage a publicity stunt as a promotion for an anti-Western documentary.
Ali said he hoped a small, non-fatal blast at Britain's Houses of Parliament, an oil refinery, or at an airport would create attention for his film....

This is what happens when we treat these as legal matters rather than military incidents.

Very conservative estimates are that 1% of Muslims are terrorists. 1% of 1.5 Billion Muslims equals 10.5 Million terrorists. If we use the judicial to fight Islamic terrorists and we jail every terrorist then we will not have anything near enough jail capacity for them.
So either those who favor using the judicial system as opposed to the military haven't run the math or they have no intention what so ever of stopping Islamic terrorism. The latter looks more likely to me.
I favor using the military option first, but those who end up in court need to get slammed.

A bunch of kids taking over a corporate picnic area as an impromptu skateboard park are conspiring to cause a public nuisance, as are a bunch of lowriders slowly cruising up and down the main drag blaring rap music on Saturday night, or the middle-aged ladies of Code Pink whipping off their bras and blocking traffic in downtown Berkeley.
All of these things are annoying and intrusive, yet all lacking in murderous intent.
Threatening suicide attacks is an entirely different matter, and should be treated as such.

Probably spent hours trying to pin it on someone else such as those 'crusaders'. Luckily the metal detectors would easily be able to pick up those suits of armour, shields, swords, arrows etc.
