PARIS - The suspected head of a group providing funding to Islamic extremists in Uzbekistan was charged in France after being extradited from the Netherlands, a source familiar with the case said on Saturday.
Irfan Demirtas, of Turkish and Dutch origin, was accused late Friday of funding terrorism by French judges Thierry Fragnoli and Philippe Coirre and placed in custody, the source said.
Demirtas was one of 10 people arrested in May in a crackdown led by France on people suspected of helping fund the Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan (IMU), which was formed in 1998 and claims to be linked to Al-Qaeda.
Eight arrests took place in a suburb of the eastern French city of Mulhouse and in the central Rhone region, one in the Netherlands and one in Germany. One suspect was later released in France.
Police found several firearms and a large amount of cash during searches of the suspects' homes on Friday, a police source said at the time. Computer discs and files were seized.
The French domestic DST intelligence agency had been investigating the ring for close to a year and the arrests were ordered by anti-terrorism judge Fragnoli.
Originally formed to overthrow Uzbekistan's President Islam Karimov and set up an Islamic regime across Central Asia, the IMU is said to be active on the volatile border between Pakistan and Afghanistan and is listed as a terrorist group by the United States.

Sorry for posting twice, but it takes like five minutes to see your post once you click on Post on this bloody site. Robert Spencer, hate monger number one, must be checking the text on each post for words like jihad and keeping a count. He wants to make sure that he's the only one using the word jihad to absurdity.

Your statement of an explicit Muslim intention of demographic conquest in the west is most enlightening. Islam is such a tawdry religion / ethical system it has little choice but resort to 'breeding like mosquitoes' as one Norwegian imam put it, if it is to stand any chance of increasing its influence in the world: it's certainly incapable of doing so by force of argument or by pointing out its outstanding achievements - as opposed to threats and violence. That no Muslim apologist can even function without resorting to lies very early on in the proceedings, is eloquent testimony to the ramshackle state of your culture's intellectual life.
By the way, why not visit a truly bloody website if you don't like this one. I believe there are ones where you can see videos of Islamic psychopaths beheading non-Muslims. Apparently they're very popular with Muslim youths (no doubt some of them are the 'not bad at all' people you mention.)

I look at Mohammed ha-Meshugga, at the Quran, and at Islam, and at the record of history - history recorded by muslims as well as by their non-Muslim targets and victims - and I see clear proof that Mohammed is a 'prophet' of war, the Quran a book of war, and Islam a religion of war. I don't hate you (I'll pray for you); but if you are living anywhere in a non-Muslim land, and if you do ANYTHING that our laws declare to be a criminal act (such as, for example, stealing from kafir, or raping kafir, or plotting to kill kafir, or committing bigamy by taking a second or third or fourth wife 'under the radar') I will pray that the full force of kafir law hits you like a ton of bricks. Please explain, in your own words this time, what I said that is stirring up hate speech? I'm puzzled by that? Then you said you are aware that I am non muslim. The only thing you seem to be aware of is your own despair. I am muslim, la illah ha illallah.
Oh and I will be praying for you too my friend, and I do live in a "non muslim land" as you put it so dramatically, and I am bound by my deen that dictates that I should obey all the laws of the country that I am living in and stand in defense of it, and I will, and I believe in this country, it's warm friendly generous people, (with exception of the occaisional moron like you, of course), it's freecom of religion and speech.

I get so annoyed how the word extremists is thrown around. These guys are part of the umma and they are as mainstream as any muslim in the world. We need to make it clear that these operations are funded by muslims not muslim extremists.
