I have walked down streets like this in Chicago, New York and Los Angeles -- places where America itself seems to disappear for blocks on end. This one has a particularly ominous cast. "Another Tack: A masjid grows in Brooklyn," by Sarah Honig in the Jerusalem Post, July 3 (thanks to Michael):
I was Brooklyn bound - or so I thought. I took the subway to see a fellow alumna of New York's High School of Music and Art (as today's LaGuardia High School for the Arts was then called). I looked forward to the nostalgic reunion. I hadn't been in NYC for ages, and catching up with an old classmate seemed an indispensable component of walking down memory lane.What's more, Kathy still lives at the same address in the cozy middle-class neighborhood where I sometimes visited her way back then. It was common for the house-proud Irish to keep property in the family, and hence I'd soon reenter the two-story red-brick home in whose wood-paneled rec-room we occasionally whiled away hours.
But when I climbed up the grimy station stairs and surveyed the street, I suspected that some supernatural time-and-space warp had transported me to Islamabad. This couldn't be Brooklyn.
Women strode attired in hijabs and male passersby sported all manner of Muslim headgear and long flowing tunics. Kathy met me at the train and astounded me by pointing out long kurta shirts as distinguished from a salwar kameez. She couldn't help becoming an expert.
She's now a member of a fast-dwindling minority because "people are running away. We're among the last holdouts of our generation. My kids have fled."
Pakistani and Bangladeshi groceries lined the main shopping drag, and everywhere stickers boldly beckoned: "Discover Jesus in the Koran." An unremarkable low-slung building on the corner of Kathy's block was now dominated by an oversized green sign identifying it as Masjid Nur al-Islam (the Light of Islam Mosque) and announcing that "only Allah is worthy of worship and Muhammad is his LAST prophet." Here too Christians were urged to "turn to the Koran" if they were "genuinely faithful to Jesus."
It wasn't hard to identify the remaining non-Muslim residences. Kathy's was typical. A huge American flag fluttered demonstratively in the manicured front yard, accompanied by a large cross on the door and an assortment of patriotic/jingoistic banners.
"We're besieged," she explained. "Making a statement is about all we can do. They aren't delighted to see our flag wave. This is enemy territory."
LEST I judge her paranoid, Kathy began regaling me with what she knew about the mosque a few doors down her street, still as tree-lined as I remember but somehow less pretty and tidy, even vaguely grubby.
Kathy had compiled a bulging dossier of press clippings and computer printouts about the masjid that grew in a once heavily Jewish area. Until the mid-1990s, its imam was the late Egyptian-educated Gulshair el-Shukrijumah, dispatched by the Saudis as a Wahhabi missionary in 1985 and financed by them thereafter. His disciple, Clement Rodney Hampton-El, an explosives specialist, possibly helped assemble the bomb detonated in the '93 World Trade Center attack. He was convicted of plotting to blow up the UN, FBI headquarters and the Holland and Lincoln tunnels. Gulshair acted as interpreter for Omar Abdel-Rahman, the "Blind Sheikh" now serving life for the first WTC bombing, conspiring to use explosives at other NYC landmarks and colluding to assassinate US politicians.
Nabbed operational commander of the 9/11 plot, Khalid Sheikh Muhammad, fingered Gulshair's eldest son Adnan as having been designated by al-Qaida and personally approved by Osama Bin-Laden to lead new terror assaults and serve as successor to Muhammad Atta, with whom Adnan was connected. Adnan received flight training and is dubbed "Jaffar the pilot." He was likewise linked to "dirty bomber" Jose Padilla, Hamas and al-Qaida fund-raiser Adham Hassoun, and terrorist Imran Mandhai (convicted of conspiring to bomb the National Guard armory, South Florida electrical substations, Jewish-owned businesses and community centers, and Mount Rushmore).
Kathy's ex-neighbor is now a fugitive and subject of a worldwide FBI manhunt. Adnan's brother Nabil, incidentally, uploaded to his Web page an image of Jerusalem ablaze with the caption: "Al Kuds, we are coming."...

In the US at least, when Mohammedans make claims about Christian and Jewish figures, they should be hauled for hate speech. If ever the UNHRC rules regarding defamation of religions becomes operative, that should be the template by which Mohammedans get prosecuted - after all, only Jews should be allowed to make religious claims about Abraham or Moses, and only Christians about Mary and Jesus.

That "in your face insolence" is a typical expression of Islamic supremacism in a country that has not yet been conquered.
I know that neighborhood. The block of atlantic ave between 3rd and 4th is a nightmare. I can imagine it is exactly like being in the mid east. They recently built apartments directly across from the mosque and people who've moved from the city are not happy with the call to prayer among other things.

We in no way should ever support the imaginary concept of hate-speech, no matter how much I personally share in your frustration.
Creeping Islamization is a phenomenon existing in every major European city.
How can America prevent it from expanding to every major city here? Of course the answer is to curb Muslim immigration.
But how can we pass laws essentially discriminating against Muslim immigration? The only possible way is for an official re-designation of Islam from a religion to a political movement.
Is this even remotely possible under current political conditions? Hardly.
And therein lies our quandary folks. All the ranting and grandiose advocacy we find in the comments section here at JW is contributing little or nothing in the way of actual concrete solutions. To hell with what SHOULD be done...I want to know - given the reality we live in - what CAN be done?
I don't have an answer...and I don't think anyone here does either. In the here and now, mass education and political mobilization are the only vehicles available to us...and while the former is proceeding, albeit haltingly and at a snail's pace considering the gravity of our situation, the latter is actually being reversed in the climate of a political election year in which the dhimmis are by all accounts in ascendancy.
Forgive me for being a realist.

You are unfortunately correct on all counts. It wil take several high-profile steps to get to where we need to arrive at, culminating with the cessation of Muslim immigration.
What do we do? We plug along, spreading the truth about Islam that Robert and Co. have thanklessly provided for us. We write, and vote and push back against the creeping Shari'ah and Islamification of the West.
We educate the masses of non-Muslims, those who are reluctant to accept this reality due to its inherent unpleasantness, and also arm ourselves with knowledge to off-set adversaries and their apologists in public forms on the internet and in real life.
Speak to your local government officials. Robert and Sue Myrick had some excellent suggestions on how to proceed going forward.
What else is there to do? What is the option? Surrender?

Regarding the US specifically, forget about restricting or eliminating Muslim immigration, when unchecked illegal immigration from both borders.
Have no fear though, for neither presidential candidate plans on doing a damn thing about sealing our borders.
Whichever one wins will learn a hard lesson come election time, or so one can hope.
Doesn't it seem odd that the Light of Islam Mosque has a sticker saying "Discover Jesus in the Koran," and Christians were urged to "turn to the Koran" if they were "genuinely faithful to Jesus," and it's located on Church Avenue/Bob Marley Blvd? By the way, Bob Marley was a musician who was Rastafarian and believed in a modified Trinity. Moreover, it just relocated from a bit further west on Church Avenue. Apparently, their Church Avenue location is part of their none-too-subtle Islamic supremacist, anti-Church message.

Being in NYC and witnessing that fiasco live and in color, I will never forget it. Apparently, I am in the overwhelming monority however.

It is strange that almost 100 years ago the West’s leaders knew how to deal with communism. Isolate it like a dangerous infection and let it burn itself out by it’s own stupidity and it worked. For all that communism was a Western ideology, but what fool thought a seventh century cult with a history of bloodshed and terror could be introduced into the heart of Western society and civilised?

I would add that a focus on immigration is playing catch up, it is late in that game. The followers of islam are here, legal and with full rights.

Now let's think about what might be done at street level.
Perhaps jihadwatchers who are based in New York within easy distance of the Brooklyn neighbourhood could mosey through at regular intervals in order to increase the visible 'Infidel' presence. After all, Sarah's friend is flying the flag and displaying the cross, two major exhibitions of counter-dhimmitude; it's clear, from the article, that she knows she's in a war, it sounds like New York jihadwatchers should find some way of getting in touch with her and offering moral support.
Israeli jihadwatchers might like to communicate with Sarah Honig, c/o JPost, and send her some jihadwatch stickers and 'defeat jihad' stickers to forward to her Brooklyn friend. She could secretly scatter such stickers around the boundary of the main Mohammedan colony, so as to be viewed by the non-Muslim neighbours and visitors.
I live in NYC and am very very familiar with the neighborhood this article is about: Kensington. And I appreciate the author bringing to light the Islamization of the area, and in particular the connections that some of the Mosques in the area (which has seen a huge influx of people from Bangladesh) have with al-quada. However, to describe that area as being predominately Muslim and unwelcoming to us infidels is just simply false.
Muslims make up at most (allbeit a growing) 25% of the area and there are still plenty of Irish, Italians, Russians, and Jews around and there are bars and liquor stores up and down Church avenue. However I will say that many of the Muslims in the area are indeed trying to claim the area as their own. About two or three weeks ago there was a Bangladesh "cultural" festival, filled with fully veiled women, with LOUD speakers that could be heard over a 1/2 mile away playing their music and the call to pray ect. I am certainly frightened by what is happening in Kensington, but I still think the article is still somewhat blown out of proportion.
People should also keep in mind that the "Radical"/Wahabist/Salafist Mosques in New York City tend to be "magnet" Mosques- meaning that the radical preachers attract the radical sheep whom often come from miles away, passing by other Mosques, to hear such preachers sermons. For example the Mosque near me, the Madina Masjid, on first avenue in the East Village is very radical. However almost NONE of those that attend live in the area which has almost no Muslims at all, they are mostly cab drivers that park nearby and then drive off.
It is unlikely that a majority in America will ever understand the threat Islamists pose to them. If 9-11 couldn't bring them to reason, nothing will. The liberal apologies and self-hatred in the wake of 9-11 will not be less valid following a larger attack (invalid is invalid). In fact, the larger the attack, the deeper many heads will plunge into the sand. Lefties control education, indoctrinating OUR kids to not defend themselves against THIER indoctrinated kids. And we've got the miserable media. And no political leaders who are willing to call out the beast. So I don't see opinions coming around before it's too late.
But the energy crisis gives me some hope. There is a chance that Americans will finally decide to start drilling and refining their own oil, on a massive scale, which would have the unintended effect of slowing down our enemies. It won't send them back to the 7th Cent where they belong but they will have much less of our money for mosques and nukes and law suits and university chair endowment.
That's the best I can do; this stuff gets me in a funk.

A Proposed Constitutional Amendment
Background and justification to Amendment 28
Whereas Religion is defined as an institution dedicated to improving social conscience and promoting individual and societal spiritual growth in a way that is harmless to others not participating in or practicing the same;
Whereas the United States of America was founded on the ideals of individual rights, including the individual right to practice one’s religion of choice, or no religion, and that there would be no compulsion of religion, nor state sanctioned religion, nor a “religious test” for participation in the body politic;
Whereas Islam includes a complete political and social structure, encompassed by its religious law, Sharia, that supersedes any civil law and that Islam mandates that no secular or democratic institutions are to be superior to Islamic law;
Whereas Islam preaches that it and it alone is the true religion and that Islam will dominate the world and supplant all other religions and democratic institutions;
Whereas Saudi Arabia, the spiritual home of Islam does not permit the practice of any other religion on its soil and even “moderate” Muslims states such as Turkey and Malaysia actively suppress other religions;
Whereas Islam includes as its basic tenet the spread of the faith by any and all means necessary, including violent conquest of non-believers, and demands of its followers that they implement violent jihad (holy war) against those un-willing to convert or submit to Islam, including by deception and subversion of existing institutions;
Whereas on 9/11/2001 19 Muslim hijackers acting in the name of Islam killed 3,000 Americans, and numerous other acts of terrorism have been directed at the American people around the world;
Whereas representatives of Islam around the world including Osama Bin Laden (architect of 9/11), the government of Iran including Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, HAMAS, Hezbollah, and other Islamic groups have declared jihad (war) on America, and regularly declare that America should cease to exist;
Whereas there is no organized Islamic opposition to violent proponents of Islam;
Therefore: Islam is not a religion, but a political ideology more akin to Fascism and totally in opposition to the ideals of freedom as described in the United States Constitution, especially the Bill of Rights.
Be it resolved that the following Amendment to the Constitution be adopted:
Article I
The social/political/ideological system known around the world as Islam is not recognized in the United States as a religion.
The practice of Islam is therefore not protected under the 1st Amendment as to freedom of religion and speech.
Article II
As representatives of Islam around the world have declared war, and committed acts of war, against the United States and its democratic allies around the world, Islam is hereby declared an enemy of the United States and its practice within the United States is now prohibited.
Article III
Immediately upon passage of this Amendment all Mosques, schools and Muslim places of worship and religious training are to be closed, converted to other uses, or destroyed. Proceeds from sales of such properties may be distributed to congregations of said places but full disclosure of all proceeds shall be made to an appropriate agency as determined by Congress. No compensation is to be offered by Federal or State agencies for losses on such properties however Federal funding is to be available for the demolishing of said structures if other disposition cannot be made.
The preaching of Islam in Mosques, Schools, and other venues is prohibited. The subject of Islam may be taught in a post high school academic environment provided that instruction include discussion of Islam’s history of violence, conquest, and its ongoing war on democratic and other non-Islamic values.
The preaching or advocating of Islamic ideals of world domination, destruction of America and democratic institutions, jihad against Judaism, Christianity and other religions, and advocating the implementation of Sharia law shall in all cases be punishable by fines, imprisonment, deportation, and death as prescribed by Congress. Violent expressions of these and other Muslim goals, or the material support of those both in the United States and around the world who seek to advance these Islamic goals shall be punishable by death.
Muslims will be denied the opportunity to immigrate to the United States.
Article IV
Nothing in this amendment shall be construed as authorizing the discrimination against, of violence upon, nor repudiation of the individual rights of those Americans professing to be Muslim. The individual right of conscience is sacrosanct and the practice of Islam within the privacy of home and self is strictly protected to the extent that such individuals do not violate the prohibitions described in Article III.
