Iranian parliament approves death penalty for "online crimes," including promoting apostasy from Islam

An update on this story. "Iran: Death penalty for 'online crimes'," from The Media Line, July 8:

A new law has been passed by the Iranian parliament extending the usage of the death penalty to be handed down in cases of online crimes. Previously, only people charged with insulting Islam or drug trafficking had been sentenced to death.
In accordance with the new law bloggers and websites editors can be sentenced to death for crimes such as promoting corruption, prostitution and apostasy, the International Freedom of Expression eXchange (IFEX) reported.
Blogging about subjects such as minority rights and freedom of speech and religion has also been dangerous. In 2005 blogger Mojtaba Saminejad was tried before a local court in Teheran charged with insulting the prophets, which carries the death penalty. He was eventually acquitted. Last year two Kurdish bloggers were sentenced to death on charges of subversive activities against national security, spying and separatist propaganda....

Note that viruses or worms written in the name of promoting Islam, or at least crippling Infidel infrastructure won't list as an online crime, just as murder of Infidels doesn't count as murder in Islam's book.

"Previously, only people charged with insulting Islam or drug trafficking had been sentenced to death."

How quickly they forget those 4 homosexuals, dangling from the gallows ...

Ha Ha Ha...the internet has opened the door to understanding this malignant ideology. Equally is true it has also opened the way for Jihadis to recruit and promote Islamic Jihad.

Now they can follow Jordan's lead, and try to arrest
out of the country infidel insulter's of Islam, and have them brought to Iran for trial...and hanging.
I doubt this ambitious plan will work very well. But then, few of their plans do...

Am I alone in seeing this as great news? Before this, the rumours about the massive rise in secret conversions to Christianity in Iran were simply that - unfounded rumours. News like this, demonstrating as it does a very real and deep terror on the part of the mullahs and the regime in Iran, seems to back up thso stories and rumours.

Where Islam prospers it eventually leads to a totalitarian society. Christianity leads to free political systems. Secularists miss this reality to their peril.

I HOPE SOME IRANI ANG MULLA READS THIS ISLAM IS A CULT OF PERVERTS AND MOHAMOD WAS NO PROFIT
HMM WILL THIS GET ME A DEATH SENTENCE THEY CANT ENFORCE

And homosexuals. And women who are raped or commit consensual adultery. The photos are all over the web.

PS. Anyone who doesn't "accept" islam insults islam.

I guess what we are all doing here would qualify as an "online crime".

LOL

But googling "child sex" and "donkey sex" as they are known to do in record numbers (as per Google statistics) is not an online crime in Iran!

Good to see they have their priorities straight.

Starting with the ayatollahs, the Iranians need a regime change.

Let them be good Muslims!
