Iraq arrests three from Ministry of Science on charges of affiliation with Al-Qaeda

As I've pointed out for years, there is no reliable way to distinguish between jihadists and peaceful Muslims. The implications of this are many. No one is considering them, in Iraq or elsewhere. "Iraq arrests ministry staff on charges of affiliation with Al-Qaeda," from KUNA, July 8 (thanks to Jeffrey Imm):

BAGHDAD, July 8 (KUNA) -- Iraqi Special Forces arrested three employees of the Iraqi Ministry of Science and Technology on charges of affiliation with Al-Qaeda's network in the country, the US Army reported Tuesday.

An Army statement said the arrests came on Sunday upon orders of the Interior Ministry and that the three employees worked in the ministry's Risafa headquarters.

The men are said to be involved in killings and attacks and in planning of several operations to drive residents out of their neighborhoods in Al-Karadah and Al-Rashid areas, it added....

But I thought that al-Qaeda was all but eliminated in Iraq, no? Aren't there only about 1200 left, wearing little AQ pins on their lapels for easy identification, right?

All good and sincere muslims, violent prone or not, have a common goal. That is to further the cause(s) of Allah. One of Allah's big causes, is spreading Islam, until the entire planet is saturated with it,
and all worship Allah.
This is a huge ambition and undertaking. We have seen, and do see, the methods used to do this. We have seen, and do see, how these methods effect even each other. We have read, and do read, the textural script at the heart of it. And we have seen, and do see, the evil driving it.
Not all muslim's are personally evil, but they are all participants in it. Their hands are dirty because of it. Only when muslims, who are not personally evil, wash their hands of it, will we be able to tell a peaceful muslim from one who is not.

Don't hold your breath, it won't happen soon...

Are they the sacrificial lambs or the big guys?

Are they Sunni or Shia and what about those who investigated and made the arrests?

Where will they be in a year?

Only time will tell. It's too soon to jump up and down.

Our leaders who are trying to make the Iraq war a success will say that we will retain a standing army in Iraq much like Germany or Japan. Thats fine but we must be reminded that Nazism in Germany was disallowed after WWII and in Japan, their Emperor/god was rendered impotent after the war.

So if Islam/Sharia are allowed to remain potent in Iraq, our Army will be at constant risk, unlike in Japan and Germany. Even today in England, their excellent police force is teetering on the brink of losing control of Islam/Sharia and I am sure that the Iraqi police and military can do no better.

Maybe I missed somehing here.
