An obscure Israeli Arab terrorist organization calling itself the "Galilee Liberation Brigades" has threatened to unleash an unprecedented wave of violence against the Jewish state.The Galilee Liberation Brigades (GLB) claimed credit last week for a deadly bulldozer attack perpetrated by an Arab resident of Jerusalem. The group also said it was behind the March shooting spree at a Jerusalem yeshiva that left eight young Jewish Bible students dead.
The GLB has previously taken responsibility for the 2003 kidnapping and murder of IDF soldier Oleg Shaichat and the 2007 slaying of Michael Ronkin.
In a weekend interview with the London-based Arabic newspaper Al-Quds Al-Arabi, a man claiming to be the group's leader said the GLB was also responsible for the 2003 disappearance of Dana Bennet, whom the man said is still being held hostage by the group.
Israel has largely refused to recognize the GLB or act against it in any significant way, despite its apparent history of organized ideological violence. The interviewed terror boss said that is a mistake, as his group "seeks to sow terror in the hearts of Zionists," and has already proved itself capable of doing so.
He went on to threaten a new wave of internal terror unlike anything the Palestinian Arabs had hit Israel with, and urged all fellow Israeli Arabs to violently reject the sovereignty and legitimacy of the Jewish state.

Jewish misguided 'peace-loving guilt ridden' youth and Israeli Arabs will make a lethal fifth column. I became interested in this when I found the powerful organized resistance against young Arab youth doing service and community projects (in their own communities!) instead of military service. The hip young Israeli Arabs (one of their top leaders a gorgeous young Arab woman in thoroughly modern dress)passionately fighting against serving their own Arab communities. Her 'logic' totally escaped me! But she will be quite an inspiration to all the Jewish "Tracy Turnblads" who want to be 'Arabs in their Souls'. LETHAL, frightening.

The only group of Arabs in the Middle East who are more pathetic than Palestinian Arabs would be those Israeli Arabs who despise Israel, and especially those Israeli Arabs who would countenance terrorism against Israeli Jews. Israeli Arabs have more freedoms than Arabs in any of the some twenty Arab countries. To begin with, they can criticize their government openly. They also are free to worship as they please, again openly. I'm aware that Israel has some different standards for Israeli Arabs, but these are minimal and it's long been surprising to me that Israel doesn't impose even more. But the Arab brotherhood thing, which is mostly phony and an excuse for a strong man to impose his will on suppliant Arabs en masse, has a strange appeal to Arabs across the board, including Israeli Arabs. And that's a shame because Arabs acting in concert rarely do anything that is constructive or enlightened.

The only difference I know of (which I believe I learned from JW) is that Arabs can't serve in the military. They vote and have all other rights of Israeli citizens. I believe there are Muslims in the Knesset.

I hope not. Honor killings are their thing, not ours. They might try it as a defense but I would hope that no jury would allow it. I figured they would go for "crime of passion", which is usually second-degree, until I read that the father had deliberately taken the bungee cord out of the car and then followed his daughter into the bedroom.
If he had done this in Pakistan he would be a hero and a free man.

PMK: You could very well be right about the only limitation being compulsory military service (and even here I believe volunteerism is allowed; I know for a certainty that Bedouin serve as scouts or guides or something like that and, of course, the Druze also serve). I believe I also came across something once or twice respecting a disallownace by the Israeli government to permit Israeli Arabs to major in a few subjects like nuclear technology. But perhaps this is incorrect information. Anybody know?
And you're correct about Arabs in the Knesset. I believe there are something like four or five there out of a total of 120 members. In any case, Israeli Arabs have freedoms that Arabs in Arab countries can only dream of, if even that.
