Lawmakers try to get American teenagers sprung from Pakistani madrasa

Why are these two boys being held there and not allowed to leave? What have they learned there that they might bring back to Atlanta with them once they do get sprung?

"Lawmakers Meet With Musharraf to Get American Teens Released From Madrasa," from Fox News, July 8 (thanks to all who sent this in):

WASHINGTON — Two American teenage boys studying for the past four years at a radical madrasa in Karachi, Pakistan, have been unable to leave, a situation that has led three Texas lawmakers to meet with Pakistani leader Pervez Musharraf to discuss their return, FOX News has learned.

The three lawmakers — Republican Rep. Michael McCaul, and Democratic Reps. Gene Green and Henry Cuellar — flew to Pakistan last week to discuss military affairs with Pakistani officials.

However, on their way to meet with Musharraf, McCaul mentioned to the others that these American were studying at a madrasa, or Islamic religious school. Green and Cuellar were unaware of the teens' plight.

The boys were apparently sent to Pakistan by their Pakistani father. Their mother is American and the teens lived in the U.S. until being sent overseas several years ago. The parents are fighting over where the boys should be. The mother wants them returned to the United States. The father wants them in Pakistan.

The boys are Noor Elahi Khan, 17, and Mahboob Elahi Khan, 16, and are from the Atlanta area where they are constituents of Georgia Rep. Hank Johnson....

"There's been a concern about madrasas who teach people how to hate America," said Green who noted the radicalized schools are teaching "militant Islam."...

No kidding, really?

The fact that the situation deals with one parent from Pakistan "makes it a little more complicated," said Green. "Sharia law is a little different. It may give preference to the father."...

No kidding, really?

Send the father to Pakistan to be with his sons and revoke whatever allows him into the US. Don't let Dad come back, EVER. The article doesn't indicate whether or not he is already there. Did he take them to Pakistan himself?

Mom, you married a Muslim. Sorry, but that's the way the ball bounces. You won't be the first American woman to lose custody of her children to their Muslim father. At least you didn't have daughters. They'd probably be married by now. Let that be a warning to all American women who think of marrying a Muslim. You have 14 centuries of Islamic law working against you.

"A Justice Department source told FOX News that Pakistan has revoked the teens' visas and officials there say they want to send the boys back to the United States."

They'll be back, with all their Islamic learning. Dad should not be allowed back with them.

YA think out politicians are i dont know a bunch of $#%&*@ geniuses huh i am trying to figure out are we this dumb we elect this losers or are they dumber then us.

I HAVE ONE QUESTION they have been in this madrassa 4 years studying to kill us why do we want them back exactly are they crying to leave trust me when there trained properly to kill us im sure dad will have no problem sending them back to momma to blow themselves up in one of our shopping malls im sure he will hand out much candy for that event.

If the US knows what's good for it, none of them should be allowed back into America. At 17 and 16, they'll have hatred for the West hardwired into their mental hard drives, and their father has to be kept out. But thats the way the cookie crumbles.

And we want these little angels back on American soil for what reason?

Oh yeah, they shouldn't be allowed to come back, and the Mohammedan dad should stay there, too.

As for the American Mom - you're dumb. Really stupid. So, don your black tent with eyeholes and join the rest of your family.

And we want these little angels back on American soil for what reason?

Why, they're American citizens of course! Their mother is an American and she wants her little darlings back with her.

The sad truth is western institutions have failed this woman, like so many other vulnerable young women who naively marry Muslim men, often providing them citizenship, only to regret it later in life.

A sadder truth is western institutions continue to abstain from any meaningful dialogue that would expose the root cause … the tenets of Islam.

The sad truth is western institutions have failed this woman...

How, exactly? She apparently married this man when she knew full well the dangers of Islamic terrorism, which no one who lived through the 1980s could avoid.
Even if she missed the many events of that time, she allowed her sons to leave the country four years ago, after 9/11 and after the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. She had no idea in 2004 what things were like in Pakistan?
She is a grown woman. She has to accept full responsibility for her own actions.
It's not clear what "western institutions" could have done for her.

Western institutions didn't fail this woman.
She failed her sons. She failed in her duty as a parent to protect them from harm.

The boys are from the 4th Congressional District of Georgia - eastern Atlanta suburbs. So why is it that 3 Texas Congressmen are involved? Why not their own Georgia Congressman, Rep. Johnson?

How many times have I heard this. Western women marrying Muslims this is bound to happen. Not only that but going to UMMAH countries for volunteer work etc and end up in a lot of trouble as in the Mohammed teddy bear incident. Jeez! come on. Look, it even goes the other way round when non Muslim men date Muslim women the infidel gets set on fire as in the Hindu man in Great Britain.

I agree with PMK. Abujan should get the boys and stay with them near the Madrasa. In fact, if the baby maker goes there too, that would be even better, even if she doesn't stay with the dad.

Stupid, treasonous bitch - donating her womb to Islam!

ebonystone,
According to the article, the Texas congressmen were there for military issues. Their presence in Pakistan for other reasons would have made their intervention on this matter easier. Rep. Johnson might not have been part of that Congressional delegation. Maybe they acted at his behest.

From above: 'Donating your womb to Islam'.

A good way to put it. That's exactly what happens.

There is nothing to be gained for America by allowing these boys return. But there is something to lose. We need fewer Islamic graduates, not more.

"WASHINGTON — Two American teenage boys studying for the past four years at a radical madrasa in Karachi, Pakistan, have been unable to leave.."

I think that the boys, young though they were when the brainwashing started, "got it". They refused to live a koranic life and were thrown out of the madrasa, and now are being held against their will, unable to leave pakiland because they just might start saying stuff about the ROP that the mullahs won't like.

Bring them back.

"Sharia law is a little different. It may give preference to the father."...
This is one of those rare instances where I'd find myself on the same side as Sharia law - when it unwittingly ends up potentially limiting the demographic jihad, even if by that massive figure of 2.

Sharia aside, one of the problems with dual citizenship, and a case like this where the father is a Paki citizen, is that Paki laws are as applicable to the family as US laws. Even if those boys are US citizens for being born in the US, Pakistan has every right to confer on them Pakistani citizenship by virtue of their father's nationality, and then treat them as such.

I agree with PMK - don't blame Western institutions for Western women idiotic enough to prefer such an alien culture to their own.

Western institutions … like government that allows Muslim immigration without any screening … like education that teaches cultural relativism and dwells on supposed sins of the west … like the news media that tells us what they want us to know, not what we need to know … like religion that often sponsors Muslim immigrants and apologizes for militants.

When the value of your own culture is constantly and systematically undermined, the weak-minded fall victim to exploitation by a more aggressive culture.

Infidel -- Your rhetoric is ratcheted a little too far toward misogynism for my taste. Please pull back on the throttle a little.

While I'm busy criticizing your post for its misogyny, let me add it smacks of self-righteousness as well. Can you not imagine being uninformed and naive about Islam, and falling in love with a Muslim? Have you never known fairly intelligent Americans who were ignorant of current affairs and politics and history and geography? Do you live in the United States? Because if you do, you might notice how easy it is to slide by not knowing anything about anything. This mother's actions were not treachery at all, just plain ignorance. And leave her womb out of it, please.

LoneRanger,
You're trying to make this woman into a victim and it just won't work. Weak-minded?
You're also insulting women, as if they are unable to understand the freedom that is not available to them in Muslim countries. If this woman fell prey to those who would do us in, that's not something we can do anything about. As she no doubt would have told anyone who tried to counsel her against this marriage: I am a grown woman and I can make my own choices.
No institution can guard against a person's own self-destructiveness. No one can protect us from ourselves. Just because our government let in Muslims who shouldn't have been here didn't force her to marry one. There are many people and institutions that try to battle the things you list - like the Catholic Church, conservatives and the much-maligned religious right.

I'll accept other parts of your criticism, but not the one about me being misogynist. After all, I don't believe that Infidel women are walking vaginas: despite how patriarchal individual religions such as Christianity, Hinduism, Judaism may be, there aren't any directives in any of their texts to expand the numbers of their faith by breeding (the Christian 'Go forth and multiply' applies I believe to continuing a family lineage). Infidel women have attained high status both in the political and corporate worlds - from Sarah Palin to Jill Barad. (Oh, and please don't point to the examples of Benazir Bhutto, Megawati Sukarnoputri, Hasina Wajed or Khaleda Zia: none of them would have come to power had their fathers/husbands not been towering pols.) Despite Sarah Palins 5 kids, I don't consider her a womb.

Yeah, I've noticed far too many Americans who can't find their country, let alone their home state, on a map. And trust me - it's nothing to write home about: indeed, I have a theory that it's the gateway to being apathetic to the state of the country, and having next to no pride in one's own country, values and culture.

If this woman had married a Buddhist, or a Shinto, or anyone else, and her hubby had sent her kids off to Japan, it would have been a domestic affair, and nothing more. Here, we have to bend over backward to take them back because she popped them out here. Sorry, but ignorant or not, I find it virtually impossible to respect anyone with that judgment.

Bring them back. Terminate all parental rights. As wards of the court, have the CIA school them at Langly.
