Prosecutors: Yes, ISNA and NAIT are unindicted co-conspirators

The Muslim Brotherhood “must understand that their work in America is a kind of grand Jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and “˜sabotaging” its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and Allah’s religion is made victorious over all other religions.”

That’s from “An Explanatory Memorandum on the General Strategic Goal for the Brotherhood in North America,” a 1991 presentation by Muslim Brotherhood operative Mohamed Akram.

“‘Sabotaging’ its miserable house.” This sabotage is not only being pursued through violence, but is also advancing on a parallel track without guns and bombs — a stealth jihad.

The Brotherhood memorandum concludes with “a list of our organizations and the organizations of our friends.” Among these organizations are the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) and the North American Islamic Trust (NAIT).

“U.S.: Facts Tie Muslim Groups To Hamas Front Case,” by Josh Gerstein for the New York Sun, July 11 (thanks to David):

Federal prosecutors are stridently rejecting claims that two prominent Muslim organizations were unfairly named as unindicted co-conspirators in the prosecution of a Texas-based charity accused of acting as a front group for Hamas.

In a filing yesterday in federal court in Dallas, prosecutors said the Islamic Society of North America and the North American Islamic Trust suffered no lasting harm by being included on the co-conspirator list prosecutors filed prior to the trial last year of the Holy Land Foundation and five of its officers because evidence supporting the claim became public just weeks later.

During last year’s trial, numerous exhibits were entered into evidence establishing both ISNA’s and NAIT’s intimate relationship with the Muslim Brotherhood, the Palestine Committee, and the defendants in this case,” the prosecutors wrote. “They were intimately connected with the HLF and its assigned task of providing financial support to HAMAS. … That ISNA and NAIT appeared in these documents and share a common history with these defendants is a reflection of the evidence, not any attempt to ‘disparage’ or ‘vilify.'”…

Ironic about all of this is that the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) just had their big yearly gathering in Hartford, CT the weekend of July 4th doing a song and dance effort to make Islam look very pro American and peaceful. Well this proves they, too have had their hands in the cookie jar.

    This is curious..and in a bad way…

As I recall, CAIR also filed a Motion to remove their name as unidicted co-conspirators with the same basic arguments. Why do the prosecutors not address that claim? This reply brief only addresses ISNA and NAIF. Are they getting ready to concede CAIR’s Motion?

With a presidential election looming, it should be borne in mind that “federal prosecutors” are assistant U.S. attorneys, subordinate to the U.S. attorneys of their bailiwick, who in turn serve at the pleasure of the president.

These particular prosecutors appear admirably steadfast and resistant to Muslim/left pressure. Can it be anticipated that those appointed under an Obama administration would be likewise? That, I take leave to doubt.

CAIR’s was a separate motion: “Another group named as a co-conspirator, the Council on American-Islamic Relations, filed a motion with the court last year asking it to strike the list. The motion is still pending.” Perhaps the government’s argument will be different for that motion given the following:

The unrepentant tone of the government’s filing was surprising in light of e-mails ISNA and NAIT filed with the court recently indicating that the lead prosecutor on the case, James Jacks, told lawyers for the groups last year that he was considering filing a pleading to clarify that the groups were identified solely because of evidentiary rules and were not being accused of having any criminal intent.

I must say I’m surprised that this prosecutor hasn’t been called on the carpet by a higher-up, and told to lay off these muslim front groups. After all, the bush administration has shown on more than one occasion that it will bring to heel, and destroy if need be, any federal employee who does his job too well and frustrates the administration’s policy goals. To wit: Stephen Coughlin for refusing to toe the PC line on islam, and Border Patrol Agents Ramos & Compean, for trying to secure our southern border. Also, don’t forget that it was this administration that engaged cair to give the FBI & other law enforcement agencies sensitivity training on interacting with the American muslim community. So I think that the federal prosecutors are going after cair in spite of, & not because of, the bush administration.

re:BIG CAT GIRL’s post : The “Islamic Conference of North America”(ICNA) which met in Hartford July 4 and the “Islamic Society of North America”(ISNA),which meets in the Chicago suburb of Rosemont ,Il every Labor Day,are both part of the MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD and are two-sides to the same “coin”,promoting the JIHAD against us. Both”organizations” probably have near Identical Memberships, and likely have their “conventions and meetings” as a TAQQIYAH to create the opportunity to bring JIHADISTS and JIHADIST LEADERS together for “Non-Public Meetings & Purposes”,all out of view of an American Public celebrating National Holidays.
