Presumably, to be a Muslim bigamist one would have to have eight wives, rather than the licit four.

What shall we call that Saudi caught having six wives rather than the licit four? I'd call him a sesquigamist.

Muhammad, of course, had nine wives, and two concubines, one Coptic and one Jewish, or was it eleven wives, and no concubines, or was it...Oh, it's all so confusing. I just can't keep it straight. As many wives as Tommy whatshisface, you know...Tommy Manville, but Tommy had them in the Western way, seriatim, one after the other, and not the way Muhammad did, all at once, which is one more reason, I suppose, that Muhammad is considered to be the Perfect Man. And or was it that Perfection the reason that he allowed himself, and himself alone, to have nine (or was it eleven?) wives?

I've forgotten so much of this. Can anyone refresh my memory, and possibly list all his wives, and concubines, and where they came from, and how he acquired them?

So what's the punishment for having excess wives? Considering how cock-eyed Islamic law is, the two latest wives will probably be stoned. Or maybe just returned to their families, to be killed for dishonoring the family.

It's entirely possible that he had, in fact, divorced two of his wives. Just without telling them is all.

When I lived in Indonesia, Muslims said that polygamy was a way to prevent adultery. Does anyone see how it would?

I've seen in several posts where the writer is bringing up the idea of a man only being able to handle one woman.(I admit it was tongue in cheek) Well that is true if her satisfaction is important to the man. But in islam, her satisfaction isn't even in the same universe of concern as his. Because there is none. One more bit of evidence at the juvenile nature of islam, it's all about "me." And the "me" can have two different meanings, both as a singular, husband/pimp/jailer/torturer/executioner, and the plural, ummah.
