LAHORE: Tehreek-e-Islami Taliban Pakistan (TITP) has distributed a fifteen-days notice to several “un-Islamic” businesses in Kot Addu to shut down or face dire consequences.
The TTIP wrote threatening letters to owners of CDs shops, Internet cafes and cable service providers urging them to close down their activities.
Similarly, the group warned that women must wear hijab to ensure their safety.
Muzaffargarh District Police Officer (DPO) Shahzad Sultan told Daily Times that Rao Yasin, owner of Nomi Video Center, at Railway Road received one such letter.
Sultan said the police have increased the security though it could not independently confirm the group’s activities.
Kot Addu Police Station House Officer (SHO) Irfan Khosa said that another person, who requested anonymity, received a similar letter and the police have registered a case in this regard.
The letter, typed and printed on computer, had Baitullah Mehsud’s photograph on it along with two gunmen, Khosa said. There were also Quranic verses about Jihad around the picture, he added.
The message said that Western and Indian media was damaging the character of youths and madrassah students, the official said. The business of music and movies is ‘Haram’, it added.
The message then warned that those who continued their businesses after the 15-day deadline expired would be dealt with sternly.
Acid: The second paragraph said that within five days of the receipt of the letter, every woman not wearing Hijab would be disfigured with acid.

Acid throwing is a favorite tactic used against even veiled women, especially in Pakistan and Bangladesh. Often, married muslim women, veiled of course, who rebuff the sexual advances of a man may incur the wrath of the humiliated man, who in turn will throw battery acid on her face. Women are damned all the way around, from birth, through life, unto death and beyond. There is no hope for women in Islam.
Pakistanis are some of the sweetest and colourful people in the world. They have been through many tough times and there are tough times ahead. Its temporarily taking away their gloss and shine.

wrong and wrong.....the people of Pakistan tolerate the Government who in turn supports the Taliban, the people of Pakistan want the Taliban to rule and America needs to do less...America should cut all money and aid going to Pakistan...more and more evidence is coming to light that the Pakistani government provides the Taliban with information and weapons to use in attacks on the Infidels and those unfortunate Pakistani people who dare to try to have a happy life...Do you see any evidence of the people of Pakistan doing anything to fight the Taliban? The warning was typed on a computer. So the most fanatical of Muslims do not "reject" the modern world and the phrase "Muslims are in a war with modernism" is false, and falsely comforting. They are in a war with everything that Islam has always been against, and they take the Islamic texts, and strictures, close to heart -- they are "good" Muslims as opposed to lapsed or careless ones, and so they are opposed to music stores, against those sellers of CDs, and against any hint of music-dance-and-romance in those terribly tame Bollywood films. Can anyone deny that they are prompted by the texts and tenets of Islam?
Where did they get the computer? What aid from Infidels made computers possible? This service is to ensure that the fighting remains local to that region, that Pakistani troops do a lot of the fighting (against fellow muslims I might add) which ultimately guarantees our way of life in the Western world remains unchanged.
These are laudable aims and a price worth paying for ...it's a paid service...not jizyah.

I think that your thoughts of Packistanis is extremely condescending. They are like a lot of Muslims expecting others to do something for them.
You haven't got it about americans yet. As Americans we are little businesses. We have money coming and money going out to provide us the necessities of life and hopefully a little more. We should not waste the portions of our lives earning this income for a people that do not appreciate our hard labor and sacrifice. Obviously you don't. You think that we have endless pockets to "dig deep" in.
I would like for you to seek citizenship in a socialist country like Canada. There, the goal of the government is to re-distribute the outcome of everyone's labor and sacrifice to the entire population. Eventually they will be broke like the rest of the Islamic world.
