Global power is their goal, and they are willing to slaughter innocents to get there. A group of ultra-radical Islamists are training in the Gaza Strip, and SPIEGEL ONLINE met with one of their leaders.Salafi extremist Abu Mustafa says more and more Hamas militants like these are defecting to his group.
It's not easy to find a place to meet the man who goes by the name of Abu Mustafa. A number of places were agreed on and jettisoned. Finally, after hours of cruising around Gaza City with Abu Mustafa's driver, the call came. The meeting would take place on the beach. There are enough people on the beach that one doesn't attract so much attention, the caller explained. How absurd this notion was would soon become clear.
Most people don't stick out on the beaches of Gaza to the degree that Abu Mustafa does. He picks his way across the sand on crutches, his leg wrapped in a cast up to his thigh. The Pakistani clothes he wears are also foreign -- and the white shirt that hangs to his knees makes walking on crutches even more difficult. Finally he slumps in a plastic chair. "Peace be upon you," he says quietly, welcoming his guest.
Many people would like to speak with Abu Mustafa these days -- he guesses about 10 men call him each day. Abu Mustafa holds the key to an ideology that many are turning to in the Gaza Strip: Salafist jihadism, a belief in the most radical form of Islam. "We meet secretly in mosques and private homes," says Abu Mustafa, who has become an entry point to the movement for many. He says the Salafis now number up to 5,000 people, not counting the women and children.
'A Very Dangerous Man'
"We aren't well enough organized yet, but we are in the process of building networks," says the 33-year-old. Eventually, he hopes, a powerful movement will be born. Members are already receiving weapons training and are schooled in both dogma and strategy. "When the fight begins, they will show no mercy," said a middleman for the interview -- himself a fighter in an armed militia -- prior to the beach meeting. "Abu Mustafa is a very dangerous man."
Salafis -- sometimes referred to as Wahhabis -- dream of a world before Islam became cluttered with new innovations and cultural influences. They seek to live a pious, god-fearing life governed by the laws of religion, a life resembling those of the original Muslims. At first glance, such a belief system doesn't differ much from that of other utopian sects -- were it not for their ideas related to holy war. To make their vision a reality, Abu Mustafa and his men are willing to fight -- and they are willing to slaughter innocent bystanders.
"Look," says Abu Mustafa, whose beard cascades down his chest, "there will be three possibilities. Some will find their way to Islam. Those who don't want to convert will be able to live in peace under the authority of Islam." For those who don't want to accept the hegemony of Islam, however, holy war is the only recipe. "Then we have to fight -- just like our brothers on Sept. 11," Abu Mustafa says.
This is in accord with Muhammad's directions: "Fight in the name of Allah and in the way of Allah. Fight against those who disbelieve in Allah. Make a holy war…When you meet your enemies who are polytheists, invite them to three courses of action. If they respond to any one of these, you also accept it and withhold yourself from doing them any harm. Invite them to (accept) Islam; if they respond to you, accept it from them and desist from fighting against them….If they refuse to accept Islam, demand from them the Jizya [the tax on non-Muslims specified in Qur’an 9:29]. If they agree to pay, accept it from them and hold off your hands. If they refuse to pay the tax, seek Allah’s help and fight them. (Sahih Muslim 4294)
The attacks on New York and Washington, D.C. seven years ago were a response to the contempt held for Islam by the Western world, he says. "If Muslims are attacked anywhere in the world, one has to hit back, and it doesn't matter where." Salafist Islam is like a cat, he says. "It is very friendly, but if it is attacked, it turns into a tiger."
This idea -- that "one has to hit back" -- is traditional Islamic theology: that defensive jihad is fard ayn, obligatory on every Muslim to aid in some way, if a Muslim land is attacked.

We will know they are interested in peace when they start burning their Qurans and Hadiths.

The absurb point of being muslim, is that when you read about their leader Mo, he was but a theif, rapist,murderer and then fabricated a facist cult to keep him supplied with enough loot and women. what kind of people follow this that the above nutbar Abu Moustache can start another following ofbraindead people. We all need to contact our gov't officials and tell them to cut off all aid to muslim countries and bar any immigration from those lands. l am thinking more and more along Hugh's points, but l dont know how this logic will ever make it through the PC of our elites. One way is to use our freedom of speech and just telling the truth about islam, and creat more cartoons will agitate enough muslims into more outrage that the ruling elites cannot hide the islamic elephant in the room as 9-11 did not wake them up, as the liberal appologist will just blame us.

It sounds to me that these bastards need to be killed. It should be done quickly, fiercely, and with no fanfare. That would send the proper message to Islam and the mullahs.
Islam, left to its own devices could 'self-purify' itself out of existence. It reminds me of a Maoist splinter group in New York years ago. When China distanced itself from Mao, they were left trumpeting 'the only real Marxist left in the world - the glorious leader Enver Hoxha of Albania'. I remember once when they got into a shouting match in Union Square with a Trotskyite splinter group who called them 'a bunch of Albanian goat-f-ckers'.
So when Abu Mustapha rolls his eyes at Hamas as not being 'pure' enough and radical enough - I suddenly had a vision of six or seven hundred 'only true Caliphs' squabbling and killing each other.

Just as love is limitless and incapable of being exhausted when it is pure and unadulterated, so is hate limitless and inexhaustible when given full rein. Nothing I know of gives greater rein to hate then Islam. A few things as much perhaps, but nothing more. Hamas and now this Abu Mustafa and his movement are living proof of this.
And though not religious myself, I can't think of anything more diametrically opposed to Islam than Christianity. The former oozes hate and intolerance while the latter is replete with love and understanding. A greater contrast could not be found. Too bad for the all the world that all Muslims aren't Christians. Who of sense could deny that the world would be much better off if this were the case?
I'm all for banning Muslim immigration but at least for the time being some other pretext must be found. Banning Muslims because they are Muslims will run smack up against the First Amendment. And in light of the present Supreme Court to, in effect, accord Constitutional rights to non-Americans, it will be doubly hard to keep Muslims out BECAUSE they are Muslims.
Unless we get another amendment to the Constitution making Islam the exception to the First Amendment or Congress passes a law banning Muslim immigration and removes any purview of such a law by the Supreme Court (pursuant to Article III, Section 2 of the Constitution), then non-religious reasons will have to be found to halt Muslims from coming here. It can be done but it will take some finagling. Also, it should be kept in mind that as of date the vast majority of politicians from both major American parties are still clueless about Islam. Even a good and knowledgeable man like Dr. Daniel Pipes thinks that there is a good Islam lurking out there somewhere, so folks who want Muslims to cease coming to America's shores have their work cut out for them.

I do not want to accept Islam. Take from that what you will.
Abu Mustafa's broken leg and the scars on his right hand are the result of an Israeli rocket attack. In January, he and a few of his comrades fired rockets across the border into Israel. Afterwards, as they were heading home, an Israeli missile hit them.

Seriously though, there are some European countries where the demographic warfare being waged by Muslims threatens to usurp the native population in not-too-many years hence.
At the very least, these countries should make a start by deporting non-citizens - the ones they are under obligation whatsoever to keep.
They should in my view also then be free to do what they need to do, to stem further influx. Why allow a 'community' that on the whole (and by most reasonable benchmarks and evidence), fails to rub along well with others, exhibits vastly inferior cultural mores and behaviour; and generally contributes very little - to continue to flourish?

The problem is the word "attacked" can mean almost any anything they deem an offense. The cartoons, for example, would be an offense, and thus is an attack upon Islam. We can chase Al-Qaeda all over this earth, and it will not matter, because these groups will just keep appearing. Al-Qaeda is just a symptom of Islam itself.
We must confront Islam, and if it is a clash of civilizations….so be it.

We can declare Islam a political organization/ideology that is an enemy of the United States, and our constitution. It is clear it is the duty of Muslims is to replace all governments with an Islamic one. That would mean Islam is committed to the destruction of our constitution. I know it won't be done anytime soon, but that would be the best way to tackle the problem. In the cold war, would we let committed communist into the USA?

I'd welcome it but I don't think there is a single federal judge anywhere (not even Clarence Thomas or Antonin Scalia, good and brilliant men that they are) who would declare Islam first and foremost a political organization which is inimical to the American Constitution. Islam's religious cover should not be underestimated. Ever. It's an enormous advantage----virtually insuperable as present Constitutional interpretations of the First Amendment now stand.
If Islam were a secular totalitarian ideology, things would be quite different, but being the religion that it is, and a major religion at that, it will take new approaches, heretofore not put forward or tried, to keep more of its misguided adherents out of our country. All of which helps support my description of Islam, which I have mentioned several times here at JW, as the "perfect storm" of totalitarian ideologies. Really, is there any system of thought more malevolent, long-lasting, destructive, parasitical and magnificently well disguised to fool the uninformed than Islam? I think not.

Hm, what if some American people started a religion that mandated through its holy texts the religious tenets of intolerance and intimidation against Muslims (including stronger tactics which shall remain nameless, which members will deny with plausible deniability, and which they will bitch and moan about under the complaint of "religious discrimination" any time somebody accuses them of those stronger tactics). Wouldn't the U.S. Supreme Court have to protect that religion from any attempts to prohibit the "free exercise" of its religious tenets?

There are dozens of people like Abu Mustafa crawling all over the slums of Paris, New York, LA and London. Finding one in Gaza is really no surprise to me.
I remember when I was 17, one day I was in the mosque to please my dad in Peshawar, Pakistan. The Mullah was praying, his words were, "O' Allah, may you kill all the infidel men. O' Allah, may you turn all their wives into Muslim maids. O' Allah, may you guide their young to join Islam."
Like I said, I'm NOT surprised.
