U.K.: Syrian Muslim gets 7 years in prison for building bombs

Hassan Tabbakh Update. "Syrian national jailed in Britain for bomb-making," by Agence France-Presse, July 30:

LONDON - A Syrian national who attempted to make bombs for Al-Qaeda-style attacks was jailed for seven years by a British court Wednesday, after being found guilty of terrorism offences.
A judge in Birmingham, central England, told Hassan Tabbakh that the home-made devices could have been developed into viable bombs capable of causing death and destruction.
The 38-year-old physics graduate, who lived in the city, was convicted of "preparing for acts of terrorism" after a two-week trial.
A jury heard he had tried to make bombs using easily available materials such as fertiliser and had made handwritten notes about their design.
Judge Frank Chapman told Tabbakh he was not being punished for having Islamist beliefs or for supporting Osama bin Laden's extremist network and similar organisations.
But he added: "If you had developed this concept into a working bomb, there would have been great potential for destruction, injury and death."
Tabbakh, who claimed to have been tortured in his homeland, was given indefinite leave to remain in Britain in 2005 after applying for asylum, the court was told.
Prosecutor Max Hill said police had found numerous items following Tabbakh's arrest on December 18 last year that showed he was preparing to wage "Al-Qaeda-style" jihad or holy war.
They included computer files with speeches by bin Laden and the former leader of Al-Qaeda in Iraq, Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, plus footage of attacks on coalition forces.
Tabbakh, who denied the charge, claimed he had been making fireworks with the materials, for use at religious festivals.
Detectives said after the case that it was not clear what targets, if any, Tabbakh had identified, nor whether he was going to pass the bombs to someone else.
"We can only speculate as to the damage that might have been caused in our communities," said Superintendent Kenny Bell, of West Midlands Police.
"We believe he was making a practical attempt to make a bomb and we arrested him at the right time to maintain public safety."

last i heard ferilier and fuel oil make bombs not fireworks sheesh these muslimes get more brazen everday

Does the judge who handed out this 7 year sentence think that this guy will be a reformed man when he get's out? Seven years is nothing to these guys. They still haven't forgiven the West for the Crusades. He'll be back.

He should have been sentenced to 72 virgins.

"Tabbakh, who claimed to have been tortured in his homeland, was given indefinite leave to remain in Britain in 2005 after applying for asylum, the court was told."

goes to show that lax asylum requirements and poor immigration laws don't benefit the host country...Ban Muslim Immigration..

Tabbakh, who claimed to have been tortured in his homeland, was given indefinite leave to remain in Britain in 2005 after applying for asylum, the court was told.

He was evidently tortured by the fact that there were no Jooos to kill in his homeland.

Tabbakh, who denied the charge, claimed he had been making fireworks with the materials, for use at religious festivals.

For a muslim, fireworks at a religious festival means going to a crowd of infidels and blowing yourself up, along with as many of them as possible. That's how they serve their "god", by causing as much destruction and mayhem as possible.

No thanks, I'll serve the real God, who loves me so much that He Himself took the punishment that I deserved for my sins.

If anything, this just shows how stupid political corectness has made us. We will never survive the Jihad because our own stupidity is guaranteeing them their final victory over a pussified West. And you could hardly make it up, but it seems to be becoming the norm as demonstrated by this killer sentence: "Tabbakh, who claimed to have been tortured in his homeland, was given indefinite leave to remain in Britain in 2005 after applying for asylum", then after claiming he was being tortured in his homeland, then goes on to show his 'gratitude' by planning to carry out the mass murder of his naive infidel hosts - those hosts who believed his cock and bull stories and took him in. When on earth will Brits grow a pair and stop denouncing as bigots and racists those who warn against letting scum like this into our country?

Tabbakh, who denied the charge, claimed he had been making fireworks with the materials, for use at religious festivals.

Soon to be released on appeal, given a huge amount of money as compensation and then back on with his jihad.

Call me cynical, but even with a 7 year sentence, if it sticks, he'll just be a source for recruitment in jail.

Fireworks jihad...Seems like a couple of terrorists in the US got caught with 'fireworks' material in the trunk of their car.

From article: Judge Frank Chapman told Tabbakh he was not being punished for having Islamist beliefs or for supporting Osama bin Laden's extremist network and similar organisations.

'We don't care what you think, but we do care what you do'...This is exactly the case with Islam.

This is the basis for the so called 'care' given mental patients, where it is behavior that is treated not a diagnosis.
You can think all the crazy thoughts you want, but don't act on them.
Slavery to Allah is a promise to act. It becomes an avenue for crazy thoughts to become crazy actions.
Outlets for craziness are common in the world. Most of them are harmless and highly personalized.
Not all crazy people are psychotic, but all psychotic people are crazy.
Islam promotes paranoia (a psychosis). Paranoia in the hands of a crazy person, usually means, 'I'm going to get you first'. For a paranoid, the best defense is a strong offense. This is jihad.
Islam provides the delusions on which the paranoid act. That's the part the judge overlooked.
He does not see Islam as the cause behind the cause of action.
PC would prevent him from bringing it up even if he did recognize it...

Judge Frank Chapman told Tabbakh he was not being punished for having Islamist beliefs or for supporting Osama bin Laden's extremist network and similar organisations.

Why not? Islamist beliefs demand that he fights for the Islamization of Britain and the overthrow of its government. Such behavior by asylum-seekers is not normally tolerated. It suggests he entered the country under false pretenses. (What a surprise!) Supporting Osama's extremist network and similar organizations can be seen as aiding and abetting.

Will the man be deported and forbidden ever to reenter Britain after serving his sentence or is the asylum permanent?

Seven whole years? Minus how much for time served or pious Muslim behavior? Someone who insulted him for being a jihadi might do more time.

So, all a Muslim has to do is look sad and claim he was tortured back home and the Brits go Oh poor baby!, and welcome him to England. How many thousands of Muslims got to live in England this way? Islamic jihadists probably can't stop laughing about British infidels.

This story reminds of a song recorded by (If I'm remembering correctly) Johnny Rivers(?) about a woman that found a beautiful snake nearly frozen to death. She takes the snake home warms it, feeds it and nurses it back to health at which time it bites her. When she says "I saved you, and now you've bit me and I'm going to die" To which the snake says "you silly woman, you knew I was a snake when you took me in."

Same story here, take in a poor tortured muslim, give him a nice place to live, an education and good career and he'll turn around and bite you. Britain, you silly woman, you knew he was a muslim when you took him in.

Yet another asylum seeker rewards our benevolence by plotting to blow us up.

How many jihadist asylum seekers does it take before we slam the door shut on all those who travel thousands of miles across safe countries to seek asylum in the UK?

Unfortunately those who intend us harm do not have that fact tattooed on their foreheads so the safest course of action is to ban them all.

They claim torture . ........ the syrian authority are just trying to get rid of the extremist ....and we give them a visa so they can flourish here.
Maybe it will be a good idea to send a list to the syrian president of all the residents here who are fearing torture in Syria,

Tabbakh, who claimed to have been tortured in his homeland, was given indefinite leave to remain in Britain in 2005 after applying for asylum, the court was told.

The Scorpion and the Frog

A scorpion asks a frog to carry him across a river. The frog is afraid of being stung, but the scorpion reassures him that if it stung the frog, the frog would sink and the scorpion would drown as well.

The frog then agrees, and takes the scorpion on his back. In mid-river, the scorpion stings the poor frog over and over again. As the two of them sink below the waves, the frog plaintively asks him why? The scorpion explains, "I'm a scorpion; it's my nature."

I hadn't noticed that WalterC above posted the story of "the Snake and the Soft-Hearted Woman", which is essentially the same as "the Scorpion and the Frog". Important folk wisdom.

Some of you may not be aware that in our loony UK penal system, he will be out in three.
