Nice when politicians and diplomats -- you know, they who have so much influence on the world -- speak the simple truth."Courage, at last," by Jiti Khanna, for the Globe and Mail, July 29:
Vancouver -- At last, a Western diplomat - Chris Alexander, a former Canadian ambassador now serving as a United Nations special envoy in Kabul - has had enough of the political correctness to publicly acknowledge that Pakistan, through its Inter-Services Intelligence agency, is supporting Taliban insurgents in Afghanistan (UN Envoy Backs Karzai Against Pakistan - front page, July 28). "Otherwise we really are pretending that Niagara Falls doesn't flow."To date, the Western democracies have simply been shooting themselves in the foot by appeasing Pakistan's government, under whose watch Islamic extremists are spreading their jihad against the Western way of life.
Yes, finally someone is speaking out against our supposed ally. I've been ranting about this for years now!

See?
We need to be arming India
Perhaps I've become too cynical but it seems to me that instead of acting upon the truth presented by Mr. Alexander, the state department will probably have him removed from his post for stirring up a divide between our so called "ally," Pakistan.
As we speak, Bush and the Paki lackey envoy is patting each other on the back for supposedly fighting a mutual enemy.
Here is an interesting fact about US ally, Pakistan:
- Thanks to the support from Pakistan, the Taliban had, by June 1997, brought two-thirds of the country under their control.
- India’s assistance to the Northern Alliance was substantial, reflecting its belief that the situation in Afghanistan had a direct bearing on Kashmir and that the elimination of the Northern Alliance would be “disastrous for India”.

Afghanistan: Indo-Pakistani proxy war
What Christopher Alexander is telling the world - it's actually nothing new. The Afghans have been telling the world for a long time that Pakistan's ISI is responsible for helping the Taleban and giving support to the Taleban to carry out insurgencies inside Afghanistan. But... the world seems to keep a blind eye to it and ignoring the Afghan's pleas. It's about time the US and the West wake up and face reality.
I have an idea. . . . let's send them a couple billion more, then maybe they'll do something about the taliban in their country. That will be $1.2 million for consulting Mr. President. /sarc.
At last someone in a Government position telling the truth about Pakiland.
"We need to be arming India."

But first India must want to be armed. So far the Indian leadership seems to be even more unwilling than the American to admit that Islam and terrorism have any connection.
Meh. Sometimes, diplomacy reaches it's natural limit, which is not to it's detriment.
If you want to do something about the NWFP region, it will have to be action on the ground and not conference-negotiating.
Our aid to Pakistan has surely helped the USA in this war, just not 100% to our advantage. No aid or bribery to Pakistan gets us 100% of zero.
Pakistan created, gave birth to, and then nurtured, the Talibs -- that is the students, or "Taliban," who from their madrasas in Pakistan returned to Afghanistan to take over that country and to see Islamic justice done. What's Islamic justice? Oh, it's stomping to death women in stadiums, where everyone can come on down, just like on an American quiz-show, from the stands and help stomp those corpses until they are nothing at all, just a bit of bone, and a lot of blood everywhere. Fun for the whole family.
And what else are the Taliban? Oh, they kill wedding-singers because Islam doesn't approve of music. They kill kite-flyers too, or anyone just trying to eke out a bit of fun in a fun-less sun-less dark world, the world of men on Islam.
And what else are the Taliban? Oh, they are Sunnis, so they were busy trying to wipe out the Hazaras, the Shi'a tribe, of vaguely Mongol origins, who inhabit the area around Herat, known as the hazarajat, and who, as Shi'a, of course deserved to be wiped out -- and the Taliban would have succeeded, had the Americans not arrived, like the cavalry in the old Westerns, at the last moment.
And who supported the Taliban once they got goint? Oh, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates recognized the Taliban, and were happy to do so. And one other country -- the country that had, as I noted, given birth to them, and subsequent succor, in every way, for the Taliban were their creation, they friends and allies, and that particular government, and its Muslim generals, would do everything they could to support, and nothing to undercut, the Taliban. Which government, and which generals?
The government of "our staunch ally" Pakistan. The Pakistani generals, the ones who run the I.S.I. -- and many of those who do other things for the Pakistani military, too.
Too little, too late.
Why should anyone care what a UN official says? His word means squat.

Hugh, Pakistan, ISI and Taliban are also involved in the hijacking of Indian Airlines flight IC 814: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indian_Airlines_Flight_814
Sheikh Omar: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ahmed_Omar_Saeed_Sheikh , who was released as the result of the hijacking of IC 814, went on to kidnap Daniel Pearl, who was beheaded by KSM. Sheikh Omar was also involved in 9/11: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mustafa_Muhammad_Ahmad
Needless to say, Sheikh Omar was harbored by a top ISI official.
An interesting read is "Who Killed Damiel Pearl" by Bernard-Henri Lévy: http://www.mhpbooks.com/pearl.html
If a former Canadian and UN diplomat to boot can identify a terrorist supporting state than the #$!$!@$! US State Dept and GOP can identify the PAk as bad as Iran, and cut off all funding to the Pak!
there is no way isi will abandon taliban. it will happen when isi is not run by generals in pakistan. eventually pakistan will implode because sizable population cares more about food shelter and education.

Our politicians are dumb, idiots and stupid. Do they actually believe that the Pakistanis would side with the mother of all infidel nations, the US against their fellow muslims, fellow jihadists, against the will of allah?
Wake up and smell the jihad and it is coming from Pakistan. The support that we are giving to Pakistan is hurting our American solders in Afghanistan. The reason the war in Iraq and Afghanistan has cost Americans so much is because we are supporting both sides, yes both sides directly and indirectly. We are supporting our solders and we are supporting our enemies indirectly - it is US vs. US and it is a stalemate.
