"My son is currently serving in Iraq to defend our state and nation from terrorists, yet Democrats will not do their part on the homefront to also defend us from such extremists."
England argued lawmakers are charged with the duty of defending their citizens from all enemies, foreign and domestic.
"Yet California Democrats placed their radical political agenda ahead of citizens' safety by refusing to prevent terrorists from teaching in our schools. Citizens should be outraged that these lawmakers are playing political games with our safety," she said....

Why should any California employee, or applicant, be allowed not to take the oath based on religious grounds? That sounds like an open invitation for religious extremists and activists to work for the California Department of Education Indoctrination.
A more proper and effective ‘edit’ would have been to replace communism with members of an organization whose public statements and/or stated purposes are implementation of a religious law or that resort to ethnic anarchy to extort special privileges.

I must respectfully disagree about the jihad threat not being a Left or Right issue.
While there are undoubtedly people on the left who understand the threat, are willing to work against it and are certainly welcome among the ranks of the resistance, I have the distinct impression that the consensus on the left, and the position of the left leadership is at least neutral, when not overtly pro-jihad.
At a minimum, when such a large population seems consistently to speak and act in a way that tends toward a specific goal, it is simply not reasonable to assume that none of them support that goal.
Beyond that, many prominent actors on the left have made their position quite clear, and quite public, that a left-jihaddi alliance is desirable and natural.
The left may have its useful idiots, but we are far beyond the point where we can assume that the seeming jihad supporters are all just useful idiots.
The evidence is that plenty of them are real, and even self conscious 5th columnists.
We really can't blindly make rosy assumptions about the Democrats in the California Assembly. Not any more.
There is a way to stop the Demoncrats and the jihadis and that is for all responsible parents to immediately pull their children from schools where Islamic jihadists have been hiding out to propaganize the students (easier said than done, I realize, but it can still be done).
That will at least make for a start on this problem.

This air clostony bag was blathering on about Pakinajistan. He sounds like a Pak trying to make believe he's an American. He spells certain words in the British fashion which is what they learn over there. And he says above he doesn't think we can win "over here", meaning he is there.
He is trying to suggest the Taliban are these tough guys, invincible in any location. fact is, we are killing them in droves and if it weren't for our overly restrictive ROE we'd be killing three times as many or even more.

It isn't a Left or Right issue as so much that one side of the political spectrum has turned a blind eye to it along with a host of other national security and economic issues like illegal immigration and trade.
That side being the Left.
The thing about them they are at best neutral on the Islamic threat to supportive of it and thats at the political level. At the rank and file level, the left is a seething mass of American hating white upper class types who blame America and its people for everything thats gone wrong for the last 500 years.
These are also the same people who think there is nothing wrong with the sermons of Reverend Wright and Farrakhan.
Then there is Fitna, 99.9% of liberal sites refused to air it except for one site run by a couple of hard core secular socialists who see Islam as a mortal threat to the west.
When you bring up the murder of Theo Van Gough you mostly get the line "he deserved it for offending Muslims". Then lots of comparisons to Christians like Falwell and Robertson and how fundies are no different than AQ and the Taliban.
When 7/11 hit London, they celebrated at many websites. Lots of verbal attaboys and "And thats what you get for supporting Bush", etc. Very few posters felt sorry the victims.
The Left may talk about freedoom of speech, of womens rights, of the right not to be bullied by religious fanatics but its all a con-game for them.
The celebrated leftist intellectuals are no better. Not one will talk about Islam and its threat to the west.
Lastly I used to think people like David Horowitz were nuts to portray the left as he does. However after spending 6 years on various lefty and Democratic websites has shown he's right in his view. And it doesn't bode well for the country.
