The Finnish Islamic Council (SINE) is currently looking for a location in the Uusumaa region for a Muslim cemetery.Why no mention of the primary reason -- that it is not meet for a believer to be buried aside infidels.The aim is to set up a burial ground which could accommodate all deceased Muslims in the area. If necessary, Muslims from other parts of Finland could also be buried there.
“The aim is to find a larger area as a long-term solution”, says Pia Jardi, head of the council’s cemetery committee.
Currently the burial of Muslims has been organised in different ways in the various municipalities in Uusimaa. Some Lutheran parishes have reserved rows of graves for Muslims in their community.
The best situation is in Helsinki, where the Helsinki Lutheran parishes granted a full block of the burial ground for Muslim graves a year ago in the summer. Now 18 people have been buried in the area with a capacity for 202 graves, each of which will accommodate two coffins.“Burial legislation requires that we indicate a grave plot for Helsinki residents”, says Risto Lehto of the Helsinki Lutheran parishes.
There is a separate Islamic cemetery in Hietaniemi, which is reserved for the Tatar community.

My Jewish ancestors established their own cemeteries, usually tacked on to a plot near a Christian or town one. Did that make them exponents of Talmudic law? I'm sure other faiths more benign than Islam do the same. As long as the Muslims use their own money, I can live with this. Though I would hope someone checks the crypts once in a while for holy weapons and explosives.

I have no problem with them BUYING and developping land for their own cemetary THEMSELVES. Catholics and Jews did the same thing in the US - no one had to accomadate them. They wanted their own cemetaries (perfectly reasonable thing to want) they had to go and get their own land and work it out.

To be quite honest, I would not trust what these graveyards would actually be used for. Would they be used to actually bury people, or hide weapons. Sounds sick, but I put nothing past these people.
Far better they should be in their own graveyard, than that one of us infidels should be buried beside one of them. Yuck.
Anyway, I'm being cremated. Save the land for growing food.

Did this custom originate due to the hot desert climate, or to avoid autopsies to determine the true cause of death?

Not to worry--It used to shock us that mosques were being used as arsenals, too. It wouldn't surprise me to find that weapons, as well as deceased Muslims, were buried in a Muslim cemetery.
In times of war, there's no reason NOT to be suspicious of the self-proclaimed enemy.

I have held a hunch for a long time now that mosques all over Europe are being used to hide weapons and I further suspect that a time will come when whoever gives the word, we will be taken by surprise and find ourselves facing attack. The spread of Islam is usually carried out by fear and at the end of a gun, see north Africa and what is happening there and elsewhere of course. Why does a mosque in Dublin require a key card for entry? And why is Saudi Arabia and most other Gulf states financing the building of huge mosques all over Europe. They can return to islamic s...holes and live as they wish without turning the West upside down, but no they have their agenda and what I say above makes sense. I don't trust one single muslim.
Wasn't there a story on JW/DW awhile back about moslems disinterring the deceased so as to use the cemetery for moslems only?
