"Summer camps in the Gaza Strip run by Hamas and other terrorist organizations inculcate youngsters with radical Islamic ideology and the culture of terrorism. Some camps offer military training to prepare future ranks of operatives for the terrorist organizations," from the Intelligence and Terrorism Information Center, August 24 (thanks to Bob):
1. Every year Hamas and other terrorist networks organize summer camps in the for Palestinians youngsters from the age of kindergarten to university. The camps indoctrinate them with radical Islamic ideology and the organizations' culture of terrorism (“the resistance”). It is part of a continuing process, which begins in kindergarten and ends with university students, to turn the children into at least supporters and if possible, operatives in the various terrorist organizations. For the Gazan population, which is economically distressed, the camps (which charge almost nothing and provide the children with hats and T-shirts) are a convenient and popular way of giving the children something to do during the summer vacation.2. Several hundred camps are operating in the Gaza Strip this summer, with tens of thousands of campers. Most of them have been organized by Hamas or Hamas-affiliated Islamic institutions. The Islamic Block, Hamas's student organization, also organized a summer camp for Islamic University students. The PIJ camps have at least 10,000 campers. In addition to the usual games and other leisure-time activities, the children are exposed to propaganda promoting violence and terrorism as the means of achieving Palestinian goals (especially the “right to return”) and the glorification of shaheeds, who are turned into role models. As part of their camping experience, Hamas campers are taken on field trips to visit the graves of shaheeds such as Hamas leaders (such as Ahmad Yassin and Abd al-Aziz Rantisi) and others. 1
3. Some of the camps have paramilitary or even fully military activities intended to prepare the young Palestinians for enlistment into the ranks of the various terrorist organizations. These activities are integrated into the extensive training held by the terrorist organizations in the Gaza Strip in preparation for “the day after” 2 (For photos see Appendix 1). The training is often deliberately held in full view of the media....

How much "humanitarian" aid went into funding these monstrosities? At the very least, it made it possible for Hamas and Fatah to divert other funds into jihadist training. Can we please stop ALL Western funding of Gaza and the West Bank and stop being swayed by all the hard-luck stories?
What is Arafat's widow doing today? Still living off Western aid money stolen by her no-good husband?

This war is a lot larger than the fighting that is going on. Getting rid of this ideology is going to take a long time. The educational systems must change. People will fight that with open warfare. Tell me I must send my children to an Islamic school? I would fight that myself. We can only expect them to act in a similar way.
This war is going to get much larger unless progress is made in areas like this article is pointing out.

I have fond memories of summer camp. The smell of the pines, the hush of the forest, the refreshingly cold, clean water of the lake, campfires, friendship.
To call these paramilitary, propaganda classes "summer camps" is obscene.

Your comedy assault on Camp Jihad was excellent. Too bad we don't see a little comedy from the Camp. But, as we know: "there is no fun in Islam" and all that other yada yada.

The photo images offer a glimpse into both the scale as well as the formalized and extensive training that is taking place.
I learned how to start a fire by rubbing two sticks together, I learned how to row a boat so you don't just go in circles. I learned how to pitch a tent, and I learned how to play soft ball.
Knowing how to launch a rocket or an rpg, will not help those campers when they need to start a campfire with sticks. Proficiency with an AK47, won't stop a muslim from rowing in circles.
Those Gaza campers already know how to pitch a tent, but can they play softball?
Hardball is Allah's game, they practice for that in camp Gaza, but don't actually play it. That comes later with real guns and real people to shoot and blow up...
Lets not forget that some of the money that pays for the camp is from UNICEF remember that when you see those little orange boxes on Halloween
