Fierce clashes between Muslim separatists and government troops have displaced nearly 130,000 people in the southern Philippines, officials said on Monday (local time), but the government has vowed to press on with today's local election.The separatist Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) had called for elections in the six province Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao to be cancelled because they want a new Muslim homeland with more political powers established as part of a comprehensive peace deal.
Air Force planes bombed suspected MILF positions in North Cotabato province on Sunday (local time) after hundreds of guerrillas refused to leave Catholic farmlands they have occupied since last month.
But the military said the escalating violence would not halt voting in local elections in Muslim areas elsewhere on the resource-rich southern island of Mindanao.
"Fighting has not spilled over to the Muslim areas," Brigadier-General Jorge Segovia, an Army spokesman, said.
"We have sufficient forces to contain the violence in North Cotabato."
Nearly 130,000 people have fled their homes and more than half are staying in temporary shelters.
Dozens of houses have been destroyed, a disaster official said....

It's Kashmir all over again. The Chritians of Mindanao are being forced to flee from their ancient homelands just as the Kashmiri Pandits were in 1989/90.
Why can't Muslims who comprise a local majority live in peace with their non-Muslim neighbors inside a non-Muslim state?

And where has the media EVER given credit to the USA for fostering freedom?

The USA military is only derided.

Because a Muslim must never be ruled by inferior infidels if it can be helped. So once the Muslim numbers are sufficient they will always break away from nations they had no loyalty anyway.

Notice this phrase from the article? - "Fighting has not spilled over to the Muslim areas."
So, in other words: the Muslims are attacking the Christians in the Christian areas, and the Christians are defending themselves on their own turf. This *also* suggests to me that the 130 000 displaced people are most likely Catholic Filipinos, rather than Muslims.
And Reuters has gone in for an interesting turn of phrase elsewhere:

Now: if fighting is not in the Muslim areas, then these 'suspected MILF positions' must be in a majority NON-MUSLIM area.
Note that the attack on the Muslims is reported first, giving it prominence - but it didn't happen first, it is the response to a Muslim act of blatant aggression - 'hundreds of guerrillas refused to leave Catholic farmlands they have occupied since last month'.
Let's just reword that, Reuters, for greater clarity, and turn it around.
"Last month hundreds of armed Muslim jihadists invaded Catholic farmlands, driving out the inhabitants, occupying the area and refusing to leave when asked. Filipino air force planes therefore bombed suspected MILF beachheads within majority-Catholic North Cotabato province".
Memo to the Filipino army: don't mess around. FLATTEN the b*****ds! They don't just want an 'autonomous region'.
Whatever they get now, will not satisfy them. They will use it as a springboard from which to keep on attacking, attacking, attacking.
Their ultimate aim is to turn the whole of the Philippines into a miserable sharia hellhole where Muslims rule, church-bells are silenced, churches are razed or turned into mosques or gradually fall into ruin because they can't be repaired, women go about in shrouds, and those non-Muslims who manage to survive the initial triumphant Muslim orgy of looting, rape and mass murder will live as terrified dhimmi slaves and Muslim punching bags, labouring all their lives while having everything they produce ripped off by their lazy, cruel, greedy Muslim overlords.
Surely you've heard those stories - of rape, abuse, fiendish cruelty - from Filipino men and girls who've worked in Saudi Arabia and other place, and been treated like things by their Muslim employers/ slavemasters? Well: that's the way the Muslims will treat the non-Muslims in the Philippines, the moment they gain the upper hand.
You don't want that? Well, crush the jihad now, with overwhelming force.
If all of the Catholic (and other Christian) residents have fled the area, level the place (as in scorched earth/nothing survives) and pay to rebuild. Much cheaper than fighting a protracted battle/war.
And blockade the "muslim areas" to keep any possible survivors from getting back to home base. And if any get away, follow them to the muslim areas and level that place too. The way to get rid of an ant problem is to destroy the anthill. The way to get rid of a hornet problem is to destroy the nest and any survivors. The way to win a war is to destroy the enemies will to continue the fight.
And in the case of muslims, if they want a truce, you're winning, attack harder.
Who are those people who are fleeing and hiding out in shelters? muslims?
Look at the broader picture. A picture the MSM absolutely refuses to show.
Indonesian Christians are barred from their church, and killed outright - while the government look on.
Taiwanese teachers and civilians are routinely slaughtered.
The happenings in Europe the UK, Africa, etc...
And coming soon to Canada
Islam is at war along *all* of its borders.
Yet the MSM calls it simply 'unrest'.

The people who are fleeing are the Christian Philippino people, mostly Catholics.
The threat from the muslims and violence committed by them is already going on for more than 30 years.Since the US bases have closed nothing have gotten any better in the Philippines.
Too bad our forces are not out there in full forge to stop this threat of Mindanao being taking over by the Muslims. The next step will be one of the other so many islands.
The people have been suffering for a long time.
It looks like this slowly moving forward of the Muslims is going on all over the world.
All Christian Nations should ban to-gether to stop this.
