MILF murders government ceasefire monitor

...which apparently indicates that the ceasefire is over -- as if that weren't obvious already. "MILF rebels execute gov’t ceasefire monitor," from AFP, August 28 (thanks to Mackie):

Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) guerrillas have executed a member of the government’s ceasefire observer after being snatched by the Moro rebels during the recent heavy military-MILF clashes in Maguindanao province, the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) said.

Lt. Col. Julieto Ando, Army’s 6th Infantry Division spokesman, said reports reaching the AFP point to missing GRP-MILF Joint Monitoring Action Team (JMAT) ceasefire observer, Army Sgt. Roger Emben, of the Army’s 64th Infantry Battalion, as having been summarily executed and buried in a shallow grave at the borders of Datu Piang and Mamasapano towns in Maguindanao.

The guerrillas abducted Emben and another companion last week in Barangay Balanakin, Datu Piang, and nothing has been heard from both since.

“We were informed by local officials and evacuees from Barangay Balanakin that the MILF faction that took Emben and his companion allowed the MILF ceasefire monitors to leave first before taking them captives,” Ando stressed.

Emben and companion were separately shot to death near their ceasefire monitoring post, Ando added.

Meanwhile, Christians in the area have had enough:

In similar fashion, a Christian vigilante group known as the Ilagas, warned yesterday that it will start executing 10 Muslim rebels for every civilian killed as violence in Mindanao intensifies.

The Reform Ilaga Movement, dormant for decades after gaining prominence in the 1970s during the early stages of the rebellion, has again been on the spotlight in the face of a new campaign by Muslim rebels.

Rebels last week killed scores of people in attacks on Christian villages and towns in fighting that has intensified since a breakdown in talks to end the insurgency by creating a semi-autonomous Muslim region.

“If the fighting continues, for every civilian killed, we will execute 10 MILF rebels,” said Mike Santiago, a spokesman for the vigilante movement.

“We are for arming civilians in areas targeted by MILF and for them to defend their families and property,” he told reporters in his hideout camp in the south of the country....

In similar fashion, a Christian vigilante group known as the Ilagas, warned yesterday that it will start executing 10 Muslim rebels for every civilian killed as violence in Mindanao intensifies.

Now there's a Christian that knows how to live in peace alongside muslims. Force begets force. It's the only thing a muslim understands.

Watch out for the many stories to come about Ilagas, "Christian terrorists", if promised executions come to pass.
The MSM as well as the Islamic press will have someone besides Timothy McVeigh to point to when looking for proof that all religious people are terrorists. With that promise of multiple executions, Ilagas will now be referred to as "Christian terrorists". Next, they'll be "modern day Crusaders".

"a Christian vigilante group known as the Ilagas, warned yesterday that it will start executing 10 Muslim rebels for every civilian killed"

Sadly, this is the only thing that the Mohammadan understands. Force must be met with overwhelming force. The Mohammadan will gladly trade 1:1 or even 1:2 since they have some of the highest fertility rates in the world. He knows he will still win trading 2 or even 3 of his people of every one infidel. The Muslim only understands dominance or submission. We cannot live in peace with them. They must be totally subjugated or WE will be enslaved by them.

10 for 1 is what I call disproportionate response! I am hoping they follow thru on that promise! Power to Ilagas!

Bravo! Fight fire with fire! Do it!

Everyone put on your anti-leftist propaganda armor. They are going to have a heyday with this. Never mind they have not once used to Bible to justify their actions, just the right to self-defense. They understand islam, having lived with it for too long a time. And they are rightly tired of waiting for their elected government to protect them. To paraphrase Teddy: Speak softly and carry a VERY big gun.

Just what I was thinking, PMK. And you can bet that the government and MSM will make frequent connections between "Christianity", "terrorism", and "Crusaders", while any connections between "Islam", "terrorism", and "jihad" remain tabu. And there will be many Christian groups quick to denounce the Ilagas; the National Council of Churches and the National Conference of Bishops come to mind. That will be some compensation: we'll be able to point to lots of "moderate" Christians, while "moderate" Moslems will remain fictional.

The Ilagas - and any other Christian (and secular) Filipinos who intend to stand up against Muslim jihadist thugs - should borrow some terminology from J K Rowlings, since all over the western (and non-western) world millions and millions of people would then understand exactly what they were talking about.

They should call themselves "The Order of the Phoenix" and explain to every journalist who asks, that what they are doing is defending themselves and their loved ones and their homes - and indeed, the whole of the non-Muslim Philippines - against Nazi-like ruthless supremacist Death Eaters, against adherents of an ideology (Islam) that institutionalises the Three Unforgivable Curses 1. the will to murder (avada kedavra) 2. the will to make others suffer and take sadistic pleasure in causing and observing that suffering (cruciatus) and 3. the Will to Power (the Imperius curse).

It wouldn't be propaganda, or PR: it would be 100 % true.

As for real-life examples: let them remember the courage of the citizen defenders of the city of Otranto (although they lost their battle, their courage delayed the Muslim jihadists' advance long enough to enable a later victory over the invading Muslims, by other Italian forces); let them remember also the courage of the Knights of St John of Malta.

Here are the words of Jean de Valette, as the Turkish fleet approached:

"A formidable army composed of audacious barbarians is descending on this island. These persons, my brothers, are the enemies of Jesus Christ. Today it is a question of the defense of our faith -- as to whether the Gospels are to be superseded by the Koran. God on this occasion demands of us our lives, already vowed to his service. Happy will be those who first consummate this sacrifice." - de la Valette 1565

And on a different note, from China, 1867, at the time of a jihadist uprising in western China, these words of wise counsel from the North China Herald:

“If politeness and ceremony be observed toward Mohammedans, they imagine they are feared and become arrogant; but in showing severity and rudeness, they are impressed with fear and respect, and they are supple and manageable.”

Go Philippines! Hammer the barbarians!

The preservation and defence of an Islam-free sharia-free zone is nothing less than an act of love for the whole of humanity - including for those rare, free spirits, born into Islam through no fault of their own, who are struggling to get loose, and will need a safe place to run to.

Christian militia or homeland security, both the same, but not the same as terrorist. Luckily we Americans have a 2nd Amendement for this reason, and in countries like the Phillipines only the criminals have guns.

Do the Ilagas need funds? Is there ways to get them money and aid?

I am afraid that the goverment may get serious with Ilagas and try to crush them, all the while allowing MILF to continue.

If the U.N. hears of the Ilagas they will threaten the Phillipine goverment to put them down.

There are alot of Phillipine Americans that would like to send the Ilagas money.

For the benefit of anyone reading here who is Filipino, I will give you some fine fighting words from Oriana Fallaci's "The Rage and the Pride", written just after September 11 2001. I have very slightly altered the opening paragraph so it can be applied to the Filipino predicament. Somebody: if it hasn't been translated into Tagalog - translate it! Put it on a pamphlet and spread it far and wide! Get someone to declaim it so people can learn it by heart.

"It’s going to be much harder to deal with the sons of Allah [than with the Nazis or Imperial Japan]. Much longer and much harder. Unless the rest of the Western world stops peeing its pants. And starts reasoning a little and gives...a hand...

"I am speaking to those who, though not stupid or evil, are wallowing in prudence and doubt. And to them I say: "Wake up, people. Wake up!!"

"Intimidated as you are by your fear of going against the current—that is, appearing racist (a word which is entirely inapt as we are speaking not about a race but about a religion) — you don’t understand or don’t want to understand that a reverse–Crusade is in progress.

"Accustomed as you are to the double–cross, blinded as you are by myopia, you don’t understand or don’t want to understand that a war of religion is in progress. Desired and declared by a fringe of that religion, perhaps, but a war of religion nonetheless. A war which they call Jihad. Holy War.

"A war that might not seek to conquer our territory {NOTE: in the Philippines, that war *IS* seeking to conquer territory} but that certainly seeks to conquer our souls.

"That seeks the disappearance of our freedom and our civilization.

"That seeks to annihilate our way of living and dying, our way of praying or not praying, our way of eating and drinking and dressing and entertaining and informing ourselves.

"You don’t understand or don’t want to understand that if we don’t oppose them, if we don’t defend ourselves, if we don’t fight, the Jihad will win.

"And it will destroy the world that for better or worse we’ve managed to build, to change, to improve, to render a little more intelligent, that is to say, less bigoted—or even not bigoted at all.

"And with that it will destroy our culture, our art, our science, our morals, our values, our pleasures...

"Christ! Don’t you realize that the Osama Bin Ladens feel authorized to kill you and your children because you drink wine or beer, because you don’t wear your beard long or a chador, because you go to the theater or the movies, because you listen to music and sing pop songs, because you dance in discos or at home, because you watch TV, wear miniskirts or short–shorts, because you go naked or half naked to the beach or the pool, because you fuck when you want and where you want and who you want?

"Don’t you even care about that, you fools? I am an atheist, thank God. And I have no intention of letting myself be killed for it.

"For twenty years I’ve been saying it. For twenty years. With a certain meekness, not with this passion, twenty years ago I wrote an editorial on this subject for the Corriere.

"It was an article by a person used to being with all races and all creeds, a citizen used to fighting all forms of fascism and intolerance, a lay person without taboos.

"But it was also an article by a person indignant at those who failed to smell the stench of a coming Holy War and who were letting the the sons of Allah get away with a little too much.

"I made an argument that went more or less like this, twenty years ago: 'What sense is there in respecting those who don’t respect us? What sense is there in defending their culture or presumed culture when they scorn ours? I want to defend ours and I am informing you that I prefer Dante to Omar Khayam.'"

And a little later, Oriana exclaims:

"Some are neither happy nor unhappy. They couldn’t care less [about September 11]. America's far away anyhow, there’s an ocean between America and Europe...oh, no, my dear friends. There’s a mere thread of water.

"Because when the destiny of the West, the survival of our civilization is at stake, we are New York. We are America. We Italians, we French, we English, we Germans, we Austrians, we Hungarians, we Slovaks, we Polish, we Scandinavians, we Belgians, we Spaniards, we Greeks, we Portuguese {and..Filipinos...dda}.

"If America falls, Europe falls. The West falls, we fall. And not just in a financial sense...(Once when I was young and naive, I said to Arthur Miller: "Americans measure everything with money, they only think of money." And Arthur Miller replied: "You don’t?") We fall in every sense, my friend. And we’ll find muezzin instead of church bells, chador instead of miniskirts, camel’s milk instead of the old shot of cognac. Don’t you grasp even this? Do you refuse to understand even this?!?"

Yet more:

"Christ! I don’t deny anyone the right to be afraid. Anyone who’s not afraid of war is an idiot. And as I’ve written a thousand times before, anyone who acts as though he’s not afraid of war is both an idiot and a liar.

"But in Life and in History there are times when one is not permitted to be afraid. Times when being afraid is immoral and uncivilized. And those who evade this tragedy out of weakness or lack of courage or habitual fence–straddling strike me as masochists.

"Masochists, yes, masochists. Why? Do you want to talk about what you call the Contrast–between–the–Two–Cultures? Well, if you really must know, it bothers me to even talk about two cultures: to put them on the same plane as though they were two parallel realities of equal weight and equal measure.

"Because behind our civilization we have Homer, Socrates, Plato, Aristotle, Phydias, for God’s sake. We have ancient Greece with its Parthenon and its discovery of Democracy.

"We have ancient Rome with its greatness, its laws, its concept of Law. Its sculptures, its literature, its architecture. Its buildings, its amphitheaters, its aqueducts, its bridges and its roads.

"We have a revolutionary, that Christ who died on the cross, who taught us (too bad if we didn’t learn it) the concept of love and of justice.

"Yes, I know, there’s also a Church that gave me the Inquisition. That tortured me and burned me a thousand times at the stake. That oppressed me for centuries, that for centuries forced me to sculpt and paint only Christs and Madonnas, that almost killed Galileo Galilei. Humiliated him, shut him up. But it also made a great contribution to the History of Thought: Yes or no?

"And then behind our civilization we also have the Renaissance. We have Leonardo da Vinci, we have Michaelangelo, we have Raphael, we have the music of Bach and Mozart and Beethoven. And on and on through Rossini and Donizetti and Verdi and Company. That music without which we could not live and which is prohibited in their culture or supposed culture. God forbid you should whistle a tune or hum the chorus of Nabucco.

"And finally we have Science, for God’s sake. A science that has understood a lot of diseases and that cures them. I am still alive, for now, thanks to our science. Not Mohammed’s.

"A science that has invented marvellous machines. The train, the car, the airplane, the spaceships with which we’ve gone to the Moon and Mars and soon will go who knows where. A science that has changed the face of this planet with electricity, the radio, the telephone, the TV, and by the way: is it true that the gurus of the left don’t want to say what I have just said?!? God, what pricks! They will never change...".

Finally (after she has scathingly described Mohammedan society, sharia society)

"If their men are so silly as not to drink beer or wine, ditto. Far be it from me to stand in their way. I was raised with the concept of liberty, I was, and my mother used to say: "Variety is what makes the world beautiful."

"But if they presume to impose the same things on me, in my home...

"And they do presume it. Osama Bin Laden says that the entire planet Earth must become Muslim, that we must convert to Islam, that he will convert us by fair means or foul, that this is why he massacres us and will continue to do so.

"And this can’t be pleasing to us. It can’t help but make us itch to turn the tables and kill him.

"But this thing won’t end, won’t die out with the death of Osama Bin Laden. Because there are tens of thousands of Osama Bin Ladens by now, and they’re not only in Afghanistan or in other Arabic countries.

"They’re everywhere, and the most hardened ones are right in the Western world. In our cities, in our roads, in our universities, in the ganglions of technology. That technology that any dolt can handle.

"The Crusade {i.e. the Jihad - dda} has been in progress for some time. It works like a Swiss watch, sustained by a faith and a malice comparable only to the faith and malice of Torquemada when he led the Inquisition.

"The fact is that dealing with them is impossible. Reasoning, unthinkable. Treating them with indulgence, tolerance or hope, suicide. Whoever thinks differently is deluded."

Non-Muslim men and women of the Philippines - do your best to get your policemen, your soldiers, your lawmakers, your mayors and bishops and diplomats and political leaders, to grasp the point of that last paragraph I have quoted, from Oriana, who had been to Muslim lands, who had interviewed Ayatollah Khomeini and Yasser Arafat and who had witnessed sharia executions during the Pakistan-Bangladesh war:

"The fact is that dealing with them [Mohammedans] is impossible. Reasoning, unthinkable. Treating them with indulgence, tolerance or hope, suicide. Whoever thinks differently is deluded."

Oh, and a quote from Pericles, cited by Oriana as the epigraph to the Post Script to "The Force of Reason":

"The secret of happiness is freedom, and the secret of freedom is courage".

So: may you have courage, all you Catholics and Evangelicals and atheists and animists of the Philippines, and defend your homeland and your way of life against the jihad.

... "The Order of the Phoenix" ...defending themselves and their loved ones .. against Nazi-like ruthless supremacist Death Eaters, against adherents of an ideology (Islam) that institutionalises the Three Unforgivable Curses:

1. the will to murder (Avada Kedavra)
2. the will to make others suffer (Cruciatus) and
3. the Will to Power (the Imperius curse).

DA:
Terrific analogy. This applies to the Philippines as it does to the US, UK, France, Algeria, well to all dar el Harb. Millions will get the analogy. As long as JK Rowlings doesn't sue, we should keep using it. Placating the enemy makes them grow. Facing them and beating them back to the sands is a much better idea. The tenets of Islam and Sharia are not compatible with Freedom and Equality.

It appears as if the MILF are rather concerned by the Ilagas.

http://mindanao.com/blog/?p=4633

The MILF are already saying if something happens to them by the Ilagas they will be blaming the goverment. Go ahead, your muslim, nothing is ever your fault.

The MILF sound as if they are nervous. GOOD.

-"There are alot of Phillipine Americans that would like to send the Ilagas money."

And why should not the US Government send a few measly million to these anti-jihadists directly?
Consider the billions spent on Project Democracy in Iraq and Afghanistan and the liklihood of the US getting any return on that investment, and the billions of aid given annually to the so-called "Palestinians", and our friends and allies in Egypt and Pakistan. Wouldn't we get a better return on our investment by giving direct aid to people of the Philippines who have a direct stake in the outcome, and when they have succeeded in driving back the jihadists we can count on these Filipinos to be our allies?

USorThem....

I agree with your thought, but you and I know that it will not happen because first, we can't offend our muslim or they will go jihad on us, and two we will never get the U.S. State Department to endorse money to a group that is actually willing to defend democracy or Christianity.

Many Americans love the Phillipines and the people, and there are many Phillipino's here with family at home. If the money comes from people here it occurs now and without strings attached, instead of fighting politicians in Washinton D.C. and putting all kinds of conditions on the money. Conditions they don't put on muslim groups. And inevidibly Condi would squash it and the money.

So let the people do it and let the money flow now.

Goverments are becoming to multicultural for their own good, selling out the safety of their citizens for PC correctness.

There is one thing that may be added.

Lots and lots and lots of Filipinos and Filipinas have worked inside the sharia-poisoned hellhole that is Saudi Arabia, and in other parts of the Islamosphere. Those who are Christians, whether Catholic or Evangelical, have frequently suffered for their faith; even been killed. Filipino maids are routinely sexually abused by their Saudi or Gulf Arab Muslim masters. Filipino workers have been falsely accused of crimes by Muslims, and then imprisoned, beaten, executed.

Those Filipino workers who have survived the experience of working in Muslim lands, especially in the heartland, Saudi Arabia and the Gulf, *know* what it is like to be treated like slaves by arrogant, cruel, selfish and greedy Muslim bosses.

There are even Filipino Moro Muslims who went off all starry-eyed as pious little Muslims to work in what they thought would be the 'holy' land (Arabia) and barely escaped with their lives after the ghastly mistreatment to which, as non-Arab Muslims, they were routinely subjected. Indeed, I think it was on Ali Sina's site that I read the testimony of one such woman, who was subjected to what one can only call sexual torture by the Muslim 'cleric' she was working for - he nearly killed her. (She was smart - she drew the obvious conclusion - after she got back to the Philippines she apostasised.).

If the Ilagas are smart, they will publish all of these real-life verifiable horror stories from one end of the Philippines to the other. Just so everyone knows how cruelly Arab Muslims behave toward non-Muslims - and even toward non-Arab Muslims - in the heart of the Islamosphere, in the place where Muslims have total control.

Give non-Muslim Filipinos a massive incentive to resist jihad and sharia tooth and nail.

Meanwhile, Filipino Muslims - besides being resisted physically at every turn - should be relentlessly hammered with Anwar Sheikh's line: that Islam is at bottom nothing but the Arab Imperial Religion, saturated with Arab supremacism; tell the Moros, day in and day out, scornfully, that they are merely the deluded dupes and slaves and puppets of Arab supremacists, grovelling to the memory of a dead-and-gone Arab warlord.

Dumbles,

the above applies also for the Thai's, Indonesians, Sri Lankans, Indians and many more who work in Sowdi or the Emirates.

I've been watching this tragedy unfold since the early seventies, after the first and second 'oil-shock'- when I was living in Thailand and Indonesia. The 'restive South' was rather quiet then, but many of their youngsters went to work in Sowdi, as went many Indonesians. When they returned, they usually had the pockets full of money and their heads full of Islam. Many of these returnees became prayer-leaders in their own ramshackle mosques, something that still goes on today and even increases. By the time the eighties rolled around the jihad was already in full swing. Picture this: in 1973 I didn't see ONE single female in all of Indonesia or in the South of Thailand. Ten years later the bombs were going off everywhere.

Nowadays in Indonesia all these pretty young girls are covered, indoctrinated, publicly flogged and don't dare to smile anymore. Mass-infibulation (FGM) is rampant, even in places like Bandung, it is a human tragedy on a grand scale.

In India in the late seventies you could watch rich, fat Arabs who already had four burka-clad females around them buy some more young girls from their Muslim fathers in the lobby of the Taj Mahal hotel in Bombay. I was sitting there watching, an experience I will never forget.

Haggling over young girls as if buying a goat, or a camel.

The Philippines has been battling with numerous Islamic factions for over 4 decades who are all bent on jihads against the sovereignty of the Phillipines Countryside of South Western Mindanao. Today there have been some 100,000 killed in these Philippine Islands.

The Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MNLF) was the first of these Islamic groups that began attacking Philippines interests back in the 60s'. Later the MILF was formed in 1981 and later the abu Sayef Group. Over the last several years there have been clear detected ties to Al Qaeda and the terrorist group jemaah Islamiyah.

The Philippine Government has just like the Israeli Government, struggled to find some kind of peaceful settlement with these Islamist but to no avail. The anger of the Filipino people really spilled over years ago. Only the geography has made it difficult to deal with these Islamic warriors for allah do to numerous islands (over 7000) and dense jungles.

The Philippines is made up of approximately 90 million people of which there is an estimated Muslim population of around 4.5 million. or just over 5Pct. of the population.

Over 90Pct. of the Filipinos consider themselves Christians, with 81 Pct being Roman Catholic and yet where does all the violence come from? ===You guessed it ---Muslims ..

My heart goes out to the Ilaga group. If my understanding is correct, when the Bible talks about turning the other cheek, it is talking about an individual, or one-for-one conflict--not conflicts that affect friends, family members, and other Christians. I believe we are called upon to defend others when danger threatens.

I agree that enough is enough, and I hope and pray that they can put down these heathens. Bravo!

Do Muslims know anything about code of honor? Like thousands of other incidents, this was another example of taqyia based betrayal of code of honor - they are honorless.

@MadAggie, I'm with you. I can't believe (it's been a long time since I've gone to church or read the Bible) that God, Jesus or somewhere in the Bible it says (at least in substance), "one cannot defend themself, their family and friends, and their country from the forces of (in this case islamist) evil and aggression." Bravo indeed!

Dumbledore, excellent post as always. I'll definitely be saving that excerpt from Oriana Fallaci's book and disseminate it among my students. Time permitting, a Tagalog translation might even come up, although the more likely result would be Taglish; the local patois of Tagalog and English mixed together...
And on behalf of Filipinos everywhere, thanks to everyone for your prayers and support for our country.

As predicted, Christian officials in the Philippines are already denouncing the Ilagas as being opposed to "progressives" and "human rights".
