Musharraf: "Whether I win or lose, the nation will lose"

MusharrafAug08.jpg
Mushy, departing

I think he will be proven right in that statement. More on Musharraf's resignation: "Pakistan's Musharraf resigns," by Kamran Haider for Reuters, August 18:

ISLAMABAD (Reuters) - Pakistan's President Pervez Musharraf, who came to power in a coup nine years ago and was a key U.S. ally in its campaign against terrorism, quit office on Monday to avoid impeachment charges.

"Whether I win or lose, the nation will lose," Musharraf, 65, said in an hour-long televised address in which he passionately defended his record.

"The honor and dignity of the country will be affected and in my view, the honor of the office of president will also be affected."

Prolonged jockeying and uncertainty over Musharraf's position had hurt financial markets in the nuclear-armed country of 165 million people, and raised concerns in Washington and elsewhere that it was distracting from efforts to tackle militancy....

As if those efforts have ever been anything but half-hearted -- at best.

Mushi is the best we could get for our money.

Whatever is next, it will be worse!

Pak is a young country where the core values of the people had been had been somewhat tarnished by the British occupation of over 2oo long dreary years.

With the birth of Pak...and only over 50 short but vibrantyears ...Pak has moved back to what it knows best....a large population and Islam.

Ofcourse that part of the world has been famous for occupation...and back in the 80s' Russia felt the need for doing their thing....and it ended in disaster for them (like it has for others before it).

The fighting then created the rough and tough taliban...a force ever respected by the British and America.

Mushi in power had always been trying to find that balance that appeals to the educated in Pak (and appeasing the West to an extent) as well as the religious communities at the mango roots level.

For the 1st time (in a long time in that region) a situation was created where muslim had to fight muslim or be crushed by an alien infedel power (who to be fair gave lots of money to aid this killing).

The people of Pak are now fed up of killing their own, the ISI being undermined, India having the upper hand and sharia being available only in the NWF region.

I think the Pak people have finally had enough when American drones can come in willy nilly and kill innocents as well as the odd AL-Q operative.

Mushi is being pushed to resign not because of a new mood in the country ...rather it's a different mood. I think the force of the judisary will be come down on President Mushi... but new alliances with us Americans ...forget it.

The position of the ISI and thier links with the Taliban are yet to be understood in this new look Pak....but all the signs are that nothing will be changing quickly.

Perhaps it may be better to funnel new money to Pak....but through Turkey....being the East-West Gateway ...we are best placed to get agreements in place.

Yeah, what a drag.

"Musharraf was ineffectual, corrupt, duplicitous, and brutal."
-by Robert

It's hard to see how what follows COULD be any worse. It's better that we know what the Pakistani government is about and form our policy accordingly. Musharraf let us keep our blinders on, convinced he was really an ally, even as he allowed the tribal areas to openly support al qaeda. Like most Islamic governments, his was an ally only when his own reign was threatened.
If Pakistan loses it will be because that's what its people want. If they would rather be an Islamic nation than a modern one then there is nothing we can do about it. It's best we face up to that.
In most areas of the world, all we can hope for is the leader who will do the least harm. Musharraf long ago ceased to be that leader. It may be that in the future we will look back on him as fondly as we do the Shah of Iran. That's not the case today.

Pakistan, land of the pure, was created mainly because Muslims (presumably the pure) couldn’t live as minority in what was to become the new democratic India.

Pakistan a country cobbled together of a number of provinces with different ethnic groups and with one prime common feature - Islam. From the very beginning there have been constantly internal bloody conflicts among the pure. Religion of peace at work?

Of course the industrious Islam also found time in al these mess to persecute and discriminate non muslim minorities that have dwindled to insignificance. Wonder what the half-life of infidels is in Islamic countries.

And if there are no infidels to persecute and discriminate, why not create brand new like the Ahmadis and go on some serious bloodletting to further purify the land of the pure. Of course the Ahmadis have the true sign of infidels while literacy rate in general is some 30-40% the Ahmadis is well over 90% and have even produced a Nobel price winner in theoretical physics.

"For the 1st time (in a long time in that region) a situation was created where muslim had to fight muslim or be crushed by an alien infedel power (who to be fair gave lots of money to aid this killing)".

Oh, please. Mo' Mad's body wasn't cold before Muslims started killing Muslims, and they've been doing so ever since.

Time to step away from Pakiland, and let it implode in its own special brand of "righteousness".

As for our Mush-man, it sounds like he's channeling the ghost of Nixon...

@Mr Darcy,

I said "Pak...a large population and Islam."
You posted "Yeah, what a drag".

You need to get away from this type of extreme bias.

Never forget that it could be a Pak doctor that operates on your triple bypass opeartion (probably saving you).

Also your grand daughter could bring her next boyfriend home and it could be a muslim ....the situation could change you ...and you bring home a Koran, compass and prayer mat....well you know what young love is like....(hmmm! on second thoughts ...you probably don't).

Actually, British rule in Pakistan was barely 100 years old at the time of the Seperation. Even for the whole sub-continent, there were only a few small areas where the British had ruled for 200 years or more.
British rule was probably the best thing that ever happened to the area. the British brought rule by law, parliamentary government, and cricket. I believe the Paks are still pretty good at cricket.

Here come the mullahs.............

Compare Pakistan with its Hindu neighbor. India and Pakistan became nations at the same time. Since then..........

India - democracy
India - high tech powerhouse
India - religious tolerance (too tolerant of Muslims, but everyone is making that mistake)
India - personal freedom
India - increasing political and social status of women

Why is one country climbing up from the third world into the second (if not the first) while the other descends into medieval savagery?

You do the math.

From the Mohammedan Hindy to me:

"You need to get away from this type of extreme bias."

I can be against Islam as much as I want, just as I can be against Fascism and Naziism as much as I want. Understand? And, don't tell me what to do.

Also, you can have the Islamic doctor for your "triple bypass" or for ANY medical or surgical procedures you may be in need of. What a creep you are.

My grandchildren will NEVER "bring home a Muslim."
They're all wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too smart for that! (feel free to imagine those "y"'s heading into Infinity).

Let me repeat what I said before:

Not me baby. I am JEWISH and I would as soon have someone operate on me named 'Muhammad' as I would have someone named 'Adolf Hitler'.

As the nuns used to say at school, the devil you know may be better than the one you haven't yet met.

There is not one Jewish person in the Crapistan known as Pakistan.

What does that tell you?

I believe the last Jewish person to enter Pakistan was Daniel Pearl. And we all remember what happened to him.

Hi Hyderberg,

Let's do a little math.

Muslim = Islam (Muslim's follow Islam)

No Muslims = No Islam (math in a natural order)

Since the equation was so simple, I don't expect you will be able to follow it. BTW, don't worry, there won't be any Pak surgeons cutting on me.

What about those nukes?
Will they be passed around the islamic world like party favors?
hindenburg, you do remember what happened to your namesake?
And there will not be a moslem doctor attending any of my family.

What was the Indian sub continent before the British, a democracy there the common man lived free and under the rule of law? The British wasn’t the first invaders. A continent ruled by local kings the internal strife among them facilitated the British who could divide and rule. In the late 18 century the British loaded their sailing-boats with a expeditionary force of 70,000 took on the long journey to round the Cape of Good Hope and steer up to India and concurred it by cutting deals with local potentates, divide and rule.

There could be said much of British colonialism but the introduction of the English language as a common language for official matters is probably a main feature that made it possible to create this big countries on the Indian sub continent. Another important thing was probably that western inspired archeology and history research rediscovered the great and incredibly rich history of India.

Thought everyone would enjoy Mark Twain's astute comment below:

When I, a thoughtful and unblessed Presbyterian, examine the Koran, I know that beyond any question every Mohammedan is insane, not in all things, but in religious matters. I cannot prove to him that he is insane, because you never can prove anything to a lunatic — for that is a part of his insanity and the evidence of it.

No one other than Allah SWT can predict this. I presume that you are a white American and (currently) so are your children…but look hard at this article.

I am not trying to be vindictive (it is not in my nature) , but by 2060….you future generations will have few whites to pair up with….and human nature is such that procreation is a very strong urge….and here is where your friendly muslim comes in.

Your future miss Darcy (to be Mrs Muhammed Khan) won’t mind so much. Darcy these are the facts…who can deny facts….not even the kuffar

Apparently, once your daughters/grand-daughters become Mohammedan, they will turn from white to some other color - brown, black, grey, green, teal, burgundy, whatever. Typical Mohammedan logic from our very own Naseemah.

But when a Mohammedan girl does convert from Islam to anything else - Christian, Buddhist, Jew, Sikh, Hindu, whatever, her color does change - from brown, black, white, whatever - to crimson! I won't call this projection on her part, but it comes pretty close.

Hindenburg

Are you an Ahmadiya? ;-)

hindenberg

You gotta be kidding, right? With a name like hindenberg, how can you tell anyone what going to happen to them in the year 2060. Remember the hindenberg? It went down in flames.

And, Darcy, great Mark Twain quote.

@Hindenburg

You prophecies are falling on ears that know the true and living God. Allah knows nothing! The son's of Ishmael will play a roll in the future but not what you misguidedly think.

You appeal to the base instincts of man and know nothing but those instincts. Islam aka Mohammad is the personification of the corrupt nature of men. He is a sinner and can do nothing to correct his problem. The true and living God through his Son provides the only solution for man.

So, when you come here and post, realize that we quickly see through your error and taqiyya.

LOL, that Hindy is such a Mohammedan clown, isn't he?

Since "allah" your pagan moon deity, a basalt idol, doesn't exist, I'm not worried about "him," hindy!

Only clowns believe in a non-existent rock idol. But, that's hindy! Bozo hindenberg.

BTW, an opossum would be better for any female to marry than a Mohammedan. Yep, a marsupial is preferable to a Mohammedan, for all sorts of reasons. A higher level of conversation, for one.

Glad everyone loved the Mark Twain quote, I had a feeling you would!

Yo Hindenberger, Hamburger.

Your reference to whites being a minority in the future means zilch. (You will probably have to look that word up.)

Hispanics are almost all catholics. They know about the Religion of Peace.

Write when you find work. (Muslims are on public relief)

Nassem, you promised to stop trolling here.

Hindenberg, aka, Naseem:

Well at least you're being a little more honest this time around on Jihad Watch by not hiding behind a woman's persona; although you do seem to communicate a little better as a woman than a man, so I can see why you felt more comfortable in that role. It's really OK, hind, as some men are slightly effeminate and they just can't help themselves; and to think that I actually thought you were a woman, boy, you really had me going! :-)

"Whether I win or lose, the nation will lose", said Musharrah

Such double-minded leadership, which does not give way to stability.

@Mrs Champ,

I am not this Naseem person that everybody is keen to mention. That person obviously had some good conversations by the look of things.

Infedel Pride...I do not know what you wrote...please translate.... I know it was German or Turkish.

'Hindenburg'

It must burn you (manner of speaking) to read Urdu remarks directed at you, and not be able to comment on them, since that would more emphatically explode the myth about you not being Naseem.

Spit it out! Nobody here is buying your denials, so in case you are wondering, your writing style, as well as your Tokyo Rose approach to us (as opposed to the typical 'Woe betide me' attitude of Mohammedans) is so identical to Naseem so as to be enough to give you away.

Honestly, Naseem, I did respect you when you left on your own when told that you were unwelcome. I'm disappointed that you chose to return under another alias, but guess honorable behavior was too much to expect from a Mohammedan. But then again, what surprised me was your original exit when RS indicated that he was contemplating banning you due to the likelihood that you weren't even Mohammedan, nor Paki, but probably a Brit Infidel just trying to get our goats.

Incidentally, there was a blogger called 'Memories of a Willow Tree' who had photos of you in his blog (your beard looked great, btw), and said he was going to Pakistan to help with relief efforts in Peshawar. Any news of him?

@Infedel Pride,

Sorry you got me...I would like to meet this Naseem though...

This was posted in July at "Sons of Apes and Pigs", where the entities behind Naseem moved onto after their exit here:

Naseem said:
Assalamau Laikum Hal,

"As a muslima ...no reform is necessary...the Koran is Allah T'allah's literal word.....we are not in the same position as you."

"Reform is not necessary for Allah's chosen...you are the ones who have to bend...and you have been doing it continuously...and will continue to do so....your recognition of your false religion demands it of you."

"I'm glad that you read the Koran....I hope to welcome you to the fold sometime....say hello to your mom for me."

The use of...periods...in between thoughts...in lieu of commas...is an intersting similarity...don't you think?

Actually, the similarities in poor spelling, grammar and mesage are too numerous to overlook, with the obligatory bradaggio about the community here ultimately converting and regular mentions of our granddaughters. Everyone should see through this obvious ruse.

Naseem # 2, the male counterpart in Hindenberg, is as uninteresting as the original proto-type, and is best ignored until he is ultimately and inevitably removed.

Posted by Hindenberg: The people of Pak are now fed up of killing their own, the ISI being undermined, India having the upper hand and sharia being available only in the NWF region.

Yes Fred, I bet they are fed up with killing their own, I bet Allah is fed up with it also, and has a huge list of names and addresses to visit, or at least send Iblis with a big stick. If there were ever a muslim people worthy of a visitation from Iblis, it is the Paki's. India 'should' have the upper hand, Pakistan muslims have made themselves lower than untouchables.
Abraham was a Hindu, you know. Abram-Brama...Abraham...Brahma...Sounds suspiciously Hindu. The Paki's should simply turn the country over to India, and let the Hindus bring civilization back to the area. The Islamic experiment of 'Pakistan' has failed. The NEF region may be the strongest hold out, but their Sharia won't prevail against the Hindus.

So Fred, soon the worshippers of cows will be in control of what was Pakistan.
Now that Mushy's out of the picture, there is nothing to stop them...

Oh yes. But, what can you expect from Barbarians, such as hindenberg?

Let me repeat:

Poor hindy - a slave. A slave to the non-existent pagan moon deity "allah" that doesn't exist!

"Infidels" have invented everything, hindy. You Mohammedans have invented NOTHING. So, wallow in your Dark Ages Barbarianism, Slave Hindy. Say, how do you like using the Internet, that INFIDELS invented? LOL How do you like using your cell phone that INFIDELS invented? Ad Infinitum.

Hindenburg

Another one - do you consider Ahmadiyas Mohammedans?

That's the first question the Naseem you're so curious about would have asked you.

Awake

Hindenburg also spells 'Infidel' as 'Infedel' - just as Naseem used to. Just one more - in addition to all others.

Marisol

Can you confirm - matching IPs or anything?

Hindenberg -- I did go to a Pak doctor, once. I had to take my son, who was 12 at the time, to a clinic. Our reg. doctor was out of town. This Pak doctor lost his temper over being asked calm, intelligent , relevant questions. He lost his temper to the point of turning red in the face and shaking. I'm just glad that all we had to do was talk to him, for a few minutes. Never again. I could see the hate in his eyes. Don't brag about Pak doctors. They are here for the money and nothing else. Thay hate infidels as much as you do.

Also, Hindenberg, why do you call yourself "hindenberg"? If I'm not mistaken, the original "Hindenburg" was a blimp that went up in flames because its excessive amount of hot gas exploded. I guess that makes sense. And wasn't the original blimp named after a Nazi? I guess that makes sense too.

Give up here. You're just distracting. Maybe that is your intent though?

LOL, thanks for the laugh!

gasbag defined:

1 : a bag for holding gas
2 : an idle or garrulous talker

Oh, Mohammedans are so full of themselves - and for NO good reason(s) - they're bound to explode.

Imagine coming from a culture that hasn't contributed anything to the world. Which is why they strut and bray and mass-murder - they feel inferior as all-get-out, which they are.

Charlie - You must get Oriana Fallaci's book "The Rage and The Pride." It's right up your alley. You'll love it.

I have noted down the author and title. I'm sure I'll enjoy it. Thank you Darcy
