Random House accused of censorship

But they're really guilty of dhimmi cowardice. "Writers accuse Random House of censorship," from ABC News Australia, August 19 (thanks to JE):

The publishing industry is once again embroiled in controversy, with Random House scrapping plans to publish a novel about one of Mohammed's wives.

The Jewel Of Medina by US journalist Sherry Jones tells the story of Aisha, Mohammed's favourite wife, who was promised to him when she was just six years old. They married when she was nine and he was 52.

Jones says she was driven to write The Jewel Of Medina because she found Aisha to be a remarkable heroine, little known in the West.

Jones says Aisha's story is an exciting tale of love, war, spiritual awakening and redemption.

But Random House decided to pull the book after advice that it "might be offensive" to some Muslims, and "could incite acts of violence by a small radical segment".

The publishing group says they want to ensure the safety of the author, Random House staff and others.

"We stand firmly by our responsibility to support our authors and the free discussion of ideas, even those that may be construed as offensive by some. However, a publisher must weigh that responsibility against others that it also bears," the group said in a statement.

"In this instance we decided, after much deliberation, to postpone publication for the safety of the author, employees of Random House, booksellers and anyone else who would be involved in distribution and sale of the novel."

The decision has left writers, including celebrated author Salman Rushdie, furious. He has accused the publisher of censorship....

Hey Doc, give Regnery a call. I'm sure they would be interested!

"Regnery"

You mean Regency, as in Harlequin Romance?

This total trash ignorant book deserves no better. How it got RH I have no idea.

Translate into Arabic, Pushto, Urdu and air lift into the Islamic Paradise of your choice.

Just a modest proposal.........

No, Regnery publishers. They published Spencer's stuff

But who will be brave enough to tell the story of Mohammed's two Jewish wives and his Jewish concubine - Safiyya, Juwariyya, and Rayhana?

A no-holds-barred first person account of what it is like to see all your adult male relatives and neighbours systematically butchered by demonically jubilant thugs; all your little cousins and nephews and nieces sold off into slavery like animals; all your female relatives subjected to an orgy of gang rape and *also* sold into slavery; all your possessions grabbed, your family's date palms cut down and burned, your family home looted and burned; and then to be seized, and raped by the Head Thug himself, Ha-Meshugga, and forced to pretend to submit to his hideous, bizarre and hollow fake religion.

Then all the cat-fighting in the harem as women who've been subjected to the full range of traumas try to salvage *something* - some skerrick of power, of prestige, whatever - from the ruins of their psyches and their lives. Focusing on the day to day intrigues and power-plays in order to shut out what had been done to them. Having to pander to, and flatter, and go to bed with, the psychopathic Abuser who could have you killed on a whim.

Imagine the nightmares some of them would have had. Dissociation and PTSD hardly begin to describe it.

I think it would have been particularly bad for the Jewish women, and for Mary the Copt, because they had been reared within societies and faiths where women even in that day and age had more dignity and security (thanks to the practice of monogamy) than under Islam.

Well it is time to take a stand Send them a letter. Tell them you will not purchase anything from them in the future due to their prejudice and pass this information on to all your friends. Money talks.
Report these stories of censorship to http://www.actforamerica.org. and to FrontPage and to sites like this JihadWatch and so many more out there. Send letters to the newspapers and to any and all human rights and activist groups. Get the word out, or soon, all opinions other then Islam will be silenced.
