I am very pleased and honored to have Raymond Ibrahim, the author of The Al-Qaeda Reader, writing at Jihad Watch. And now Raymond wants to hear from you.
Have you ever wondered what those "thanks to..." parenthetical tags on Jihad Watch posts mean? I've seen recently some conspiracy theorists spin elaborate webs from them, as they assumed that the person I was thanking was the author of the post, or the Svengali behind the ideas expressed therein. The reality is somewhat more prosaic, but even more urgent: the person I thank in Jihad Watch posts is the person who alerted me to the article I am posting. The comments on it are all mine, but I might not have known about the article at all had the person being thanked not sent it to me, and for that, thanks are in order.
Anyway, I get over 500 emails daily at director@jihadwatch.org, not counting spam, and thank all who send in article links for their thoughtfulness. And now please send them to Raymond also, at topicsforjw@gmail.com. And thus our jihad coverage here will move onward and upward, until finally perhaps one day an increasingly sleepy West will wake up, shake off its demons, and stand up for itself. But until that great day, there is a great deal of work to do in regard to raising awareness. So if you see an article that you would like to see posted and commented upon at Jihad Watch, please send it to Raymond as well as to me. And...thank you!

I continue to feel like I am beating my head against a brick wall in trying to make people aware of the issues regarding Islam and jihad. But when I come to JW it gives me hope that I am not alone. And that we cannot give up.

Though I am without a contributing comment for great thinking, I am, never-the-less, grateful that you have included Mr. Ibrahim. I've read the "Al Qaeda Reader" three times, and I keep it handy for reference. Truly, I am little more than a pedestrian in this conflict, so I rely on valid sources. My humble congratulations to both, Mr Ibrahim and yourself.

While Robert has introduced quite a few people to JW over the last few years, other than Marisol, you seem to be the most prolific contributor to cover stories these days. JW is a lot richer in content thanks to your fresh perspective.

Thanks to all for the kind comments. About the bird...good point. Pic was taken at a zoo; never gave that Tucan looking thing much thought. But, yes, upon closer inspection,it does seem to bode ill, hovering there above my shoulder, red beak and all. Oh well...
My nation survived five centuries under Islam, but memories are still alive like it was yesterday. People in the West should hear these horror stories about how children were taken from their families as "blood-tax" and how every Christian bride had to be "tested" by her Muslim master before the marriage, for which they are mocking us to this day. I hope westerners will not learn it on their own example.

As your name belies the sincerity of your query, know that, in my heyday, I benched 455 lbs; now, as I age and grow weary, I can put up three wheels -- that's gym talk for 315 lbs. Problem is finding the time.
To you all at JW I would like to add my thanks for all the work that goes into JW. My experience of islam is, regrettably, that I worked in several muslim countries for many years which countries have nothing to offer other than employment. (These people do not know what work is). To LazarOfSerbia. Thank you for your post as your horrifying story is something I have never read in our Western press. I hope you will pass on your post to as many 'outsiders' as possible. I am deeply concerned and frightened for our future. We must soldier on with getting the word out around the world. But talk is cheap, action is what will be required at the end of the day, I fear. Thank you again.
