Three men arrested on suspicion of terrorism offences have been linked to an investigation into threats to kill Gordon Brown, it emerged last night.
The suspects were detained on August 14 in a joint operation between Lancashire Police and the Greater Manchester police counter-terrorism unit.
Police confirmed that the arrests are linked to a posting on the al-Ekhlaas website in January calling for the deaths of Brown and his predecessor Tony Blair.
The group making the threats called itself "al-Qaeda in Britain" and demanded the withdrawal of British forces from Iraq and Afghanistan. It also demanded the release of Muslim inmates from the high-security Belmarsh prison.
Two of the suspects were arrested at Manchester airport as they were about to board a flight to Finland. The third was arrested in Accrington, Lancashire.

Police have until Thursday to charge the men - aged 21, 22 and 23, and from Blackburn - release them, or seek an extension to their custody.
The internet statement was posted in Arabic and has since been translated.
It warns that if the group's demands are not met "then the Martyrdom seekers of the organisation of al-Qaeda in Britain will target all the political leaders especially Tony Blair and Gordon Brown, and we will also target all Embassies, Crusaders Centers and their Interests through out the country, with the help of Allah."
What are 'Crusader Centers'? Churches? If so, it's yet another example of projection which Mohammedans have perfected into an art (since there ain't much art that they themselves can boast of), which incidentally tips their hand on what function mosques really serve.
Translation: mosques are 'jihad centers' - and I'm not talking inner struggles.
Crusader Centers?....I agree Churches....also internet cafes, grocery stores, sporting events, bus and train terminals, airplane terminals, cruise ships, police stations, barber shops, schools....all of which the Muslims are currently attacking in Muslim lands...it is only a matter of time before the same attacks are seen in non Muslim lands...Moronic immigration laws greatly speed up the process..
Attacks on Britain's current political PC "leadership" may not be such a bad thing. Perhaps they will then be replaced with leaders with balls, understanding of this scourge, and the will and courage to deal with it.
It will take much more bombing for our leaders to get their balls back, and perhaps the MSM will stop being such whores for the poor islamists.

A Guardian reader I spoke to thinks these 3 young men are victims of islamophobia because they were only TALKING about killing Blair and Brown. A bit like the girl lyrical terrorist who wrote poems dreaming of martyrdom and had an airside pass to work in a shop at Heathrow. After a full trial I think she got off with a warning.
I wonder if such direct threats will alter the politically correct perception of Islam foisted upon the world by those like Brown, Blair and Bush?
Will Brown finally accept the doctrinal threat - not just to himself - but to each infidel in his family, if not the threat to every infidel of Britain?
Has he begun to question the identity of infidel he and his predecessors have continued to permit to fester under the guise of freedom of religion regardless of Islam's seditious nature?
Does Gordon and his wife Sarah continue to prefer to bequeath the responsibility of directly addressing such doctrinally founded threats against themselves and their nation to their surviving sons and potential future grandchildren, like so many generations of misguided fools already have?

They even attacked the Munich Olympics in 1972.
Then of course there were 9/11, 3/11 and how many other -/11 attacks?
All (with the exception of Achille Lauro which was in Egypt, though it was an Italian ship) were in non-Muslim lands. It's the attacks on Muslims in Muslim lands that are the anomaly. Attacking non-Muslims in non-Muslim lands is business as usual. It got a little harder for a while, but they'll figure out how to get around laws - inconvenient little things - and law enforcement officers.

OK. Let's assume that by Embassies they mean primarily the embassies of those kafir countries that they perceive as allies of the United States, say. That by Crusaders' Centres they mean churches.
Right. Well: if there is even one Muslim attack, or attempted attack, upon embassies of kafir countries, or upon Christian churches, inside the UK, here's what should happen next.
EVERY Muslim-nation embassy in Britain gets sent packing. Ambassador, staff, the whole kit and caboodle - OUT! Saudis, Pakistanis, Bangladeshis, Gulf Arabs, Malaysia, the lot. (One would probably have to be prepared to evacuate all non-Muslim British citizens who were currently in Muslim lands; then shut down the British embassies).
EVERY Mosque in Britain gets shut down and their leaders/ preachers deported: starting with those that have starred in the two Channel 4 documentaries on what Muslims say to other Muslims when they think there aren't any kafir around to hear them.
And outfits like Hizb-ut-Tahrir get banned, and their membership booted out.
Put the rest of the Muslims on notice: aggressive supremacist behaviour (in particular, attacks on churches, synagogues or Hindu and Sikh and Buddhist temples and/or their clergy and adherents), and violence and fraud against non-Muslims, and violence or threatened or attempted violence against apostates from Islam and against critics and questioners of Islam, will not be tolerated on British soil.

Unfortunately, something BIG has got to happen for things to change. And I'm sure it will. Just a matter of time.
I remember commenting to my Dad months ago, that it was only a matter of time until we have hostage situations, demanding the release of Muslim fighters in British jails. Notice one of their demands, so it comes to pass, only a matter of time.

That would never work, Ian. I mean, just how many gutless politicians would they have to round up for it to be a fair trade for a muslim fighter? They'd have to take over a stadium to keep them all in.

They have already done it in the 1970's. The Heath government released one (Lelia Kalid?) for hijacking a plane at Heathrow after her friends hijacked some other British aircraft complete with passengers to Jordan.
On notice? They do not recognize Britain as a country or participate as citizens in British culture. Your land is only a place to spread islam. Deport them. All of them.

There are plenty of people with the balls to implement policies like that. I'm one of them and there are more and more people coming to the saem conclusion every day.
The only reason why we get Muslim appeasement is because people continue to vote for parties with appeasement agendas. Try voting for a party that does not.
I now vote BNP. Why? Because there is a problem with Islam and there is NO real problem with racism. Be prepared to make uncomfortable choices, because things are going to get a lot more uncomfortable if we keep appeasing Muslims.
