This story is already buried by the BBC under UK > England > Manchester. They report that "Police sources ... said the arrests were not at the "more serious" end of the scale". Oh good, that's all right then.
Some correspondents here seem confused about the use of the term "Asian". The residents of Audley Range and Whalley Range where the police are searching these homes are 90% Muslim. Make up your own mind. I certainly have.

The cringing way in which the police approach Mohammedans is summed up by a pressrelease last night which I posted on another thread:

From what I could see the arrests did not make the front page of any of the national papers and definitely not the late editions. Initially they were briefly mentioned on national TV and radio but well down the running order before being pushed out to regional news after about 15 hours.
So, Asian means Jihad terrorist in British English. I wonder if the real Asians will protest for confusing Islamic terrorsts with Asians.
The Brists should be more specific and call them Muslim Asians to be fair to the non-Muslim Asians whom would almost never get involved in any for of terrorism.
