(IsraelNN.com) International terrorism experts fear that Venezuela will soon become a base for terrorist attack initiatives, in light of the tightening of ties between the South American dictatorship and both Iran and Hizbullah.A top expert in the war against terrorism, speaking with the Los Angeles Times, said that agents of Hizbullah and the Revolutionary Guard of Iran have formed a special force designed to kidnap Jewish businessmen in South America and smuggle them to Lebanon. He said that Venezuelan employees of the international airport in Caracas have already been recruited to provide information about Jewish tourists who arrive in the country.
The Lebanese terrorist organization Hizbullah, which enjoys close relations with Venezuela, is reportedly building terror strongholds in the country....

Chavez is doing everything in his power to stick his finger in the eye of America, but Colombia is the real target of his intrigues. As that country bravely fights on against the fanaticism and gangsterism of FARC, Chavez is quietly sending this group of narco-traffickers masquerading as social reformers...crates of AK 47s, money, and other goodies. His goal is to undermine Democracy, first in Colombia, then, throughout the region.
Colombia is the front line in the struggle for the soul of Latin America. Will it be Democracy or authoritarianism with a socialist hue?
It is imperative that the US remain steadfast in our support for President Uribe and the people of Colombia.
In case anyone missed it, Obama campaign operatives communicated with FARC representatives during the primaries, and assured them that an Obama Administration would reject a free-trade agreement with Colombia and would synthesize policies with FARC in order to undermine Uribe's aggressive prosecution of his war against narco-terrorism.
A classic caudillo type, coming from below, rising in the military, then seizing power and becoming what he always was -- a demagogue bent on levelling, and the result is that he has driven out of Venezuela many of those -- doctors, engineers, entrepreneurs -- on whom the country depended. The full folly of what he has done, or what he has undone, is hidden by the oil wealth, but eventually that oil wealth will diminish, and those who confused that wealth with a healthy economy and polity will realize, with chagrin, how they have allowed themselves to be fooled.
It hardly surprises that such a demagogue, his whole platform one of infantile anti-Americanism, would naturally find common cause with Hezbollah. What would surprise is if such a crude and cruel man, a political primitive, did not.

Chavez failed to seize power in a coup attempt in 1992 but six years later he was elected president, with the largest percentage of the popular vote in four decades.
The Carter Center endorsed the result. Hmmm.

That's the problem with democracy. Sometimes the people ELECT bad leaders. Sometimes they get what they asked for.
They saw Chavez as fighting corruption, even in the failed coup attempt. His 1992 failure made him a national hero. Fighting corruption was a major theme of his campaigns.

Hugo may think he is working 'with' Iran/Hizbollah, but he is not, he is working 'for' them.

We need to inform him that any terrorist action traced to Venezuela will result in the immediate and total destruction of the Maracibo area oil refineries, terminals and associated infustructure along with a blockade of all oil export facilities. Jimmy Carter is responsible for the present regime in Iran and he is responsible for overseeing the election of Chavez. Is there any wonder why Venezuela and Iran are allies. Is there any wonder why Iran and Venezuela are friends of the Democrats. Nice going Jimmy. Such a brilliant man. (Sarc.)
Hezbollah and Iran are triumphant south of the border and openly inciting El Jihad al-Latino against El Diablo Grande del Norte, in addition to heavily infiltrating the US itself with huge numbers of absolutely open supporters and deep-hidden combat sleeper cells ready to strike with Iranian nuclear weapons as soon as those are smuggled in.
