Sharia Alert. She can't get custody of her four children, and she "could also face arrest if the husband has fled with her residency papers." He's a citizen of Australia himself, though he's clearly enjoying the Saudi system more: All the benefits and privileges for him as a man, and all the restrictions for her. "Australian stranded in Saudi Arabia," from the Australian Associated Press, September 21:
An Australian woman trapped in Saudi Arabia because of the fallout from a divorce case is being given "all possible consular assistance", Australia's ambassador to Saudi Arabia says.
The Adelaide mother of four has complained the Australian government is not helping her and has told News Ltd that she has been threatened with arrest for exposing her face to a male neighbour in front of her children.
The Australian ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Kevin Magee, has told a Middle East newspaper that embassy officials planned to meet the woman to provide her "full support".
"I can't confirm or deny the report of her possible detention by the local police, but our consular staff are committed and are extending all necessary support to the woman," Mr Magee told the Arab News daily newspaper.
News Ltd's The Advertiser newspaper in Adelaide reported the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) had previously said it could not ensure the Australian citizen got out of the country with her four children.
Her ex-husband, also an Australian citizen, has filed for custody of the four children in a Saudi court, the report said.
The woman, who was not named by the newspapers after saying she fears for her safety, told The Advertiser on Friday that she had been refused sanctuary in the Australian consulate and she expected to be arrested over the weekend, after exposing her face in front of a male neighbour.
She says her ex-husband has also taken her passport and may have left Riyadh for an unknown destination inside Saudi Arabia.
In a statement to The Advertiser, a DFAT spokesman said the consulate could not be used to shelter Australians from local laws but Australian consular staff at the embassy in Riyadh would "continue to meet the woman's consular needs to the maximum extent possible".
The Arab News said the woman could also face arrest if the husband has fled with her residency papers.
In Saudi Arabia, it is difficult for a woman to obtain an exit visa without the approval of her husband. But without her passport - which she says her husband has stolen from her - she cannot travel anyway, the newspaper said.
Feel the love in islam, feel the sex equality. thid aussi idiot is learning the hard way what is is all about. she has only herself to blame, though the clueless media also bears some responsibility for suger coating islam and muslims.
Is the woman a White Boneheaded "Oh, but he has such dreamy eyes!" type or is she an immigrant, like her husband? There would be a big difference, and my sympathy gland would kick in if she were forced to marry her cousin or uncle or something. But I have pretty much had it up to the eyeballs with idiot women of the west, the white chicks, especially, who are so stupid as to not understand what is in store for them. Maybe a western woman ought to be given a "Bears are Dangerous" pamphlet, and then sign their rights away when they get there. That would end the problem quickly.
These "white chicks" have been instructed since the day they were born that multiculturalism, moral relativism, tolerance, and "acceptance" are the guiding lights for a socially permissible life.
They really do believe that everyone thinks the way they do, because the alternative is just too "icky" and/or is simply Orientalism. Any evidence to the contrary produces a foaming hysteria of denial.
These women literally have lost any sense of self-preservation, and any ability to protect their own children, because they are so politically correct. It is the dhimmi-female side of what Islam does to its own female adherents: submission, fatalism, and a lemming-like obedience even unto their own deaths.
The Australian ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Kevin Magee, has told a Middle East newspaper that embassy officials planned to meet the woman to provide her "full support".

Married a Muslim - enjoy your Islam.
This senario has happened many times....women should wise up a little bit and never marry a Muslim...nothing good can come of it...
Oh my god, the face! Heaven forbid!!!! How offensive is that?!?!
20 years ago, I would have felt sorry for her. Today there is no excuse for any woman in the West not to know the inherent dangers of marrying a Muslim male; especially one from Saudi.

I totally agree and thats why i, as a white dutch father, tell my dutch daughter that i would het to marry a nice dutchman.
Now...in holland at the moment, this probably makes me a rascist.
However, when a turkish father tells his turkish daughter she has to marry a nice turkish man from turkey, this is somehow a good thing.
The dutch have even made changes to the dutch law to accomodate this behavior because its considered inhumane to limit someones partner choice.
So basically...in holland a dutch dad can get locked up for being a rascist if he would tell his daughter to marry a dutch man, and you can be locked up for being a rascist if you object to the fact that turkish fathers want their turkish daughters to marry a turkish man.
How is that for logic!!
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.
Remember that made-for-TV movie "Not without my daughter"?
I happened to find a copy of the book it was based on. Must reading for any woman contemplating a marriage to a Muslim man.
In 1991, Metro Goldwyn Mayer had the cojones to expose the misogynistic barbarity of islam in the most un-politically correct manner possible. . .based on a true story:
In 1984, Betty Mahmoody's husband took his wife and daughter to meet his family in Iran. He swore they would be safe. They would be happy. They would be free to leave. He lied.
Vacation ruse exposed, husband confiscates wife's passport, beats her into submission, separates daughter, and wife is ostracized/spied upon by spouses family.

Reverse racism? Invert logic Islamic style is alive and well in the lowlands.
About the Aussie woman, she is learning the true meaning of "Islam is peace".
Or should it be "submission" to the man?
20 years ago, I would have felt sorry for her. Today there is no excuse for any woman in the West not to know the inherent dangers of marrying a Muslim male; especially one from Saudi.

Ditto.
Concerning "Not Without My Daughter," I've long been a fan of that Sally Field film. I'm surprised the Mohammedans haven't tried to get that film banned as racist and bigoted and hate-filled and...you know the usual drill.
I have as much sympathy for idiots who marry muslims as I have when some nutter jumps into the lion's enclosure at a zoo.
Maybe I'll feel some sympathy, tomorrow.
Folks - get your hands on a copy of the book. It goes into greater detail and includes an episode where Betty Mahmoody runs into another American women whose Iranian husband trapped her in Iran. They talked about the physical abuse their husbands inflicted on them.
"He never beat me when we lived in America", the other women relates, "but once we came to Iran, he beats me everyday."
'Nuff said.
Marwan'sDaughter is spot on.
The article does not make clear if the woman married into Islam, or was born into it.
If the latter, what irony that she's now looking to a Western country to save her butt from Islam's clearly-delineated rules for females.
Either way, my sympathy-meter's needle has hardly budged.
So what will be the consequences for doing this "heinous crime"? Flogging? Stoning or beheading?
I'll admit, that wasn't the smartest thing to be dumb about. However, how is it that a Saudi court is able to carry out legal decisions on two Aussies? Is it solely because the man is Muslim and citizenship doesn't matter? I would think that there would be a little more protection going on. They never define "support" does that mean the Aussies are helping her replace her documents or are they leaving her truly stranded?
Only Saudic ask any female to have male relative ok to travel, it than custum of they sect of Islam the Koran doesnot have this written in. I e-mail the Saudic Embassary in Washington about this issue asking the Saudic government to help her and to look into the divorse as I think the hushand is misuseing
Saudic law and the Saudic can change the court action it that the case. Many muslim women I know travel aback and forth with no problen at all.
Poor job of DefendingIslam there, DofI. You're only sinking us more into the morass it is.
Saudi law "asks" that women only travel with a male at her side? And many Muslim women you know travel without problems? Yes, as long as there is some male who "allows" her to, probably.
I wonder at your thinking that the husband in this case is "misusing Saudi law". If the law requires a woman cannot travel without her husband's permission, and he withholds it, end of story. Or does someone (who?) get to second-guess his motives?
Ay-yi-yi. As I said, a morass.
" Many muslim women I know travel aback and forth with no problen at all.

and what happens to the woman if her papers are taken away from her...?
then she could expect to be arrested...just as the woman in the story above...
right?..
When you go and live in Saudi Arabia , you know exactly what to expect.
and you are under the Saudis law.
but when you live in the USA , you expect to be under the American law.
Unfortunately. it is not always the case.
Corruption and creeping Sharia are ruling some courts in the USA.

and after some women went to testify in front of the legislature, one house representative tried to help.
Even if the judge is now going to be sent in front of a panel, the husband is appealing the order of paying alimony and child support and defying the order, asking his youngest son to be the midlle man.
DO YOU SEE A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SAUDI ARABIA AND AMERICA?
