Biden: Iran's most useful idiot?

"That's Ahmadinejad, Barack. Don't worry: I'll have him eating out of my hand"

So Biden is dubbed in "Iran's Most Useful Idiot?" in the New York Post, September 2:

Barack Obama may genuinely believe, as he promised in last week's acceptance speech, that he can prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons. First, though, he'll have to overcome his running-mate's resistance.

Israel's Army Radio just reported that Sen. Joe Biden told Israeli leaders in 2005 that they would have to accept a nuclear Iran.

The report says Biden told the Israelis that he doubted economic sanctions would be effective against Tehran, "and I am against opening an additional military and diplomatic front."

Biden's camp yesterday termed the report "a lie."

But despite Biden's recent remarks that "Iran's acquisition of a nuclear weapon would dramatically destabilize an already unstable region," the fact remains that the senator has long shown antipathy for getting tough with Tehran.

Indeed, according to a devastating profile in The New Republic in 2001, Biden suggested, in the wake of 9/11, that "this would be a good time to send, no strings attached, a check for $200 million to Iran."

He even voted against a resolution designating Iran's Revolutionary Guards a terrorist organization and calling for tough sanctions against it - one of only 22 senators to do so....

Now would be a good time to send, no strings attached, a check for $20million dollars to me.
It would be mor effective than Biden's plan, and I'd spend it all in the U.S.

Until this washes out as to whether Senator Biden made these comments on a nuclear Iran, here are some points made by Dr. Barry Rubin if we have to face a nuclear Iran from AMERICAN THINKER today.

Update: Dr. Barry Rubin writes:

Even if people don't care whether Israel is wiped off the map they should consider these points:
1. A nuclear Iran will make it impossible for the West to protect its interests in the Middle East. All countries would be too intimidated to act in any way contrary to Iran's desires.
2. A nuclear Iran would intimidate all Arab regimes to appease Iran including, for example, rejecting Western basing rights or alliances.
3. A nuclear Iran would lead to a huge upsurge in radical Islamist movements and their recruiting. With hundreds of thousands of Muslims joining such groups, the existence of every Arab regime would be jeopardized; terrorism and regional instability would rise.
4. The price of oil, given understandable fears of regional stability, would go far higher than it is now and stay there for years.
Senator Biden--are you reconciled to all that happening?

The US, by itself, cannot prevent Iran from going nuclear. Our European "allies" don't care. Some are even furthering the process. Our trading partner, China, is in the mix as well, providing expertise. Then there's Pakistan, our "ally" in the war on terror.

How, exactly, does the US prevent a nuclear Iran when the countries either on its border or close by, as well as our European allies, are either enabling the process or just watching it happen and are prepared to condemn any action taken to stop it?

Do we "bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb bomb Iran!"?
Does Israel?

No matter how powerful we are, we cannot do this alone, unless we are prepared to reduce Iran to dust if need be. Precision bombing won't prevent Iran from going nuclear. It might delay it for a while, but then we'd just be in the same situation a few years down the road.
Who will come to our aid or defense? Winking and nodding, as the Arabs did after the Israelis bombed the Iraqi reactor in the 1980s isn't enough.

The $200 million "no-strings" check offer should be hammered home incessantly by McCain and his supporters. If Biden was picked to provide foreign policy "experience" to Obama's campaign, he can instead become its albatross...all based on that singular event.

In short, Biden was offering Iran protection money after 9-11.

This article written on April 22,2005 on WORLDNETDAILY.COM may help in searching out who is telling the truth on any words of appeasement towards the Iranian Mullahocracy By Senator Joe Biden and his other same mindset Senators John Kerry, and Senator Ted Kennedy.

Mackie,
Another point: if Iran wipes Israel off the map with a nuclear device, the effects are likely to be felt by most of the countries that border Israel. Gaza and the West Bank might become uninhabitable. Who knows how it will affect the Mediterranean Sea or the Red Sea? The Russians did their best to contain Chernobyl but radiation from the explosion still reached Western Europe. How many countries will experience radiation after an attack on Israel?

Why are none of the Arab countries, or the rest of the Islamic conference, speaking out against Iran? What actions are THEY prepared to take?
What is Pakistan doing to further Iran's nuclear ambitions?

The countries of the world are already intimidated. Every eventuality you have pointed to already exists. The Europeans won't get tough. Iran has made blatant threats against a sovereign nation but Israel is being condemned by everyone for its demonstration that it can reach Iran by air. Even contingency plans are treated as an act of war.

Any attack on Iran is likely to be met with a show of Islamic solidarity. The very regimes that are already in jeopardy (whether from Iran or from their own jihadist organizations) will roundly condemn any attack on an Islamic nation.

Iranian action against Israel would probably be answered (assuming Israel had pilots in the air) with a bombing of the Straits of Hormuz. The upshot is it would be the Israelis who end up in the ICC.

What is Pakistan doing to further Iran's nuclear ambitions?

They sold Iran the technology in the first place.

They sold Iran the technology in the first place.

A technology, Pakistan (M Q Khan), stole from Europe, but BINGO, jdamn is exactly right.

Picking Bidiot was very shrewd on Obama's part, as BO is a puppet too. He is beholden to wall street and the media giants. Gee, could that be why he has recieved such favorable press? Could that be why no one looks in his closet? He is the sadest candidate to come along in years in terms of his lack of knowledge, arrogance, and inexperience.

Vote NOWAY to this Marionette Duo.

OT: I wonder if Robert Spencer has been invited to this:

MK Eldad to Host 30 Nation Anti-Jihad Convention
3 Elul 5768, 03 September 08 05:59

(IsraelNN.com) Knesset Member Arieh Eldad (National Union-National Religious Party) announced Wednesday that he will be hosting a convention in Jerusalem under the banner, "Standing Up to Jihad."

The right-wing MK told reporters Wednesday morning that the anti-jihad conference will be held in December and will be attended by some 30 European lawmakers from Denmark, Italy, Holland, Belgium, Sweden, Switzerland and Britain.

"There are 60 million Muslim immigrants in Europe, and they have not necessarily come there to be assimilated into society, but rather to resist it from the inside. The feeling in Europe is that the time has come to stop jihadist Islam, and this may be the last opportunity," he explained.

While GWB must take the heat for eagerly recognizing the newly minted Jihad mini-state of Kosovo, blame also falls squarely on the shoulders Biden and Clinton for coming in so strongly on the side of Jihad in that catastrophic Balkan war. Both sides in the conflict were engaged in genocidal ethnic cleansing, but it was only the Serbian side which received Western scrutiny in the battle.

The Muslims got rewarded with a Jihad terror base on the front porch of Europe, the Serbs got hauled off to the sinister Kangaroo Courts of Justice, and the Democrats like Biden, Clinton, and Wesley Clark got to pat themselves on the back and piously congratulate themselves on a job well done. It's always easy attacking and demonizing white Christians, and Serb brutality made it easier to pull off. But the fact remains that those non-Muslims in the region have been fending off the genocidal Jihad for over six centuries, and have suffered greatly as a society -- but that gets no air-play in the West -- it just doesn't fit with the post-modern anti-West anti-European narrative which the left perpetuates.

$200 million to Iran."...is that all? Cheapskate...

Well if you want an administration that will try to surpass Bush in taxpayers give aways to undeserving despots, vote O-Biden...

Plan for keeping Iran from getting a nuclear bomb.

Step 1 Bomb all suspected nuclear sites.

Step 2 Repeat as necessary.

Biden: Iran's most useful idiot?

That's yet to be determined, but he's certainly in the running.

I usually enjoy Sam Harris, but he really had a B.F. on this one:

http://www.latimes.com/news/opinion/commentary/la-oe-harris3-2008sep03,0,3801278.story

I'm having a hard time following Harris' logic on this: Palin is unknown; so how can Harris know she's unqualified. Plus, she appears to be anything but "average"... if she's average, what's Obama? Harris worries that if something should happen to McCain, the "unqualified" Palin would become president. Ok, let's assume that Palin is unqualified; it would still require that McCain die before she assumes the presidency. Does Harris believe it's better to elect a less qualified Obama, whose real views are less well known than Palin's despite all his time in the limelight, directly into the White House… with Biden as the backup?

Harris' arguments can be applied more effectively to Obama, whose sole qualifications seem to be that he's an unusually pleasant Marxist. Despite all the media glow and twitter over his academic career and skills at reading aloud, Obama seems extremely average, glib BSer who has accomplished little (and luckily, if history is any guide.) except capturing office by procedural elimination of his competition. Does Harris believe hanging out with anarchists and Marxists is better experience than governing a state with a multi-billion dollar annual budget, critical energy supplies, and an infrastructure that must operate in the harshest of conditions?

Sorry Sam, but your "reasoning" on this one is unreasonable.

And how ironic this came on the 69th anniversary of the start of World War II. And this war and everything that came with it - 60 million deaths, the Holocaust etc, happened because the West had too many weak politicians in positions of power during the all-important 1933-38 era - politicians just like Biden, who deliberately turned a Nelsonian blind eye to German rearmament and the contents of Mein Kampf, and took absolutely no notice of the inflammatory antisemitism and the promises of conquest in Hitler's speeches. The politicians of then knew what was being planned and chose to do nothing. It is obvious that if Churchill knew what Hitler was up to, then so did the rest of the world leaders. But antiwar politicians chose to try to blacken Churchills name by denigrating him as a warmonger, in the forlorn belief that this, and giving in to Hitler at every opportunity was the way to avoid war. Instead, all these fools did was ensure that when war came, it would be far bloodier than striking pre-emptively in 1935 or 1936, when Hitler could have been toppled at far less cost. But the more you look at the world of 70 or so years ago, the more familiar it seems to get with every passing day. Many of the dynamics of the 1930s are at work today. We have spineless politicians and populations who want to do nothing about Iran. Like Hitler, Ahmadinejad and the mad mullahs are planning the mass murder of Jews, and like the Chamberlains, Baldwins, Daladiers etc, a deaf ear is being turned.

"...the all-important 1933-38 era - politicians just like Biden, who deliberately turned a Nelsonian blind eye to German rearmament and the contents of Mein Kampf...."

Not exactly Nelsonian. Nelson, as the junior admiral, turned his blind eye to the signal from the commanding admiral to withdraw. Instead, he attacked, and won the battle. The Western politicians of the 30's had their blindness, but it wasn't Nelsonian.

Robert

You are right to point out Biden's disastrous stance on Iran. However, it's also worth exploring and pointing out whether McCain's stance on equally malignant Jihadi adversaries, such as Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and even Egypt, would be any better in seeing us progress in the war on Jihad.

How come this moron is not incarcerated in Leavanworth yet.

Looking through Biden's Senate FEC Campaign Disclosures , something Jumped off the screen-"Suez Energy,North America", a subsidiary of Suez Energy International, who has dealings in Opec States, Including Iran.
hmmm

So Biden is dubbed in "Iran's Most Useful Idiot?" (in the article)

Senator Biden has spoken on both sides of every issue he has ever talked about. He has no known policy on anything except remaining in the Senate until retirement.

He is not mean spirited and he takes good care of his family. He seems to be a nice guy. But we must never make the mistake of taking him seriously. (He don't even take himself serious for any length of time on anything.)

"Senator Biden has spoken on both sides of every issue he has ever talked about."

Good point, Spot on! Look at how Biden initially voiced his desire to be McCain's VP - only to have him flip-flop as Obama's VP. Is your head spinning, too? Sheesh-o!

champ, Mine is spinning too.

Am I the only one noticing that Senator Obama is always angry, always complaining and whining? He is always angry for one reason or another. There seems to be an infinite number of reasons for Obama to remain angry for the rest of his life. Do we really need an angry and whining president to lead us? You know what I am talking about - he is always angry day in and day out. Everyone has the rights to be angry at some point or another but Obama seems to be angry 24/7. He is so angry at all times that people have stopped noticing.

For Obama, change has to start from within - get rid of the grim face that makes you look like a shmock and try to smile a little, even if you had to fake it. Stop looking negative and start looking positive. Even President Bush with his low approval rate is more positive than Obama. Stop whining if you want to look presidential - whining and presidential do not go together. Stop barking at people and show some teeth - smiling teeth not threatening ones. Clean up your closet and stop looking like you hiding something horrible there. Admit mistakes when you make them - we are all humans and we all make mistakes. Show a little honesty in your demeanor, even a used car salesman looks more honest than you do.

There is hope for Senator Obama as the election day is almost 60 days away – there is ample time for practice. Don't let your habits drag you down because if anyone can, yes you can. A little modesty would suite you very well. Stop behaving like the presidency is all yours and McCain is trying to take it away from you like an adult taking away something from a child. Although you think you cannot lose this election, a little humbleness can help you cope with the possibility that there is a faint chance that you might loose. Don't raise yourself so high as it will hurt more when you fall from higher. Lastly, stop pretending that you have already been elected the President of the United States of America it shows that you have no respect for your opponent and even worse, it shows that you have no respect for half of the Americans that are not willing to vote for you. Stop insulting the American people and remind yourself that the election day has not come yet.

"Do we really need an angry and whining president to lead us?"

No way; and you're right, he and his wife, Michelle, are always whining. And I know she tried to cover her tracks during the Democratic Convention, but her whining still leaked out, as did BO's.

Barack & Michelle Whiner, is more like it. We sure don't need The Whiner Family in the White House. They'll be calling it the Whiner-White House. No thank you.

McCain '08!

American, My favorite Obama quote is, "We are the people that we have been waiting for." (I'm sure that it makes sense to somebody.)

And by the way, he IS a real whining schmuck.

I'm still waiting for me to arrive; it must be a time-warp thing.

Oh, and go McCain/Palin 2008!
