Five people were killed and 25 others injured today in two suspected bomb attacks in the western Indian states of Gujarat and Maharashtra, Indian media reported.Three people were killed and at least 12 others hurt in a bomb explosion in the religiously tense town of Malegaon in Maharashtra state, a senior police official told the CNN-IBN news channel.
Reports said rioting broke out after the blast, causing several more injuries. The official Press Trust of India news agency said police resorted to firing in the air to control angry crowds in the communally sensitive town.
"It appeared to be a low-intensity blast," local police official Surya Gupta told the media.
In the neighbouring state of Gujarat, one person was killed and 13 others wounded in another crude bomb attack in a marketplace in Modasa town in Sabarkantha district, reports said.
Gujarat's home minister, Amit Shah, told the media one person was confirmed dead and seven others wounded.
"There was a motorcycle carrying an explosive. We are reviewing security arrangements," he said.
The NDTV news channel said an alert has been sounded across western India.
Both explosions took place in areas wracked by Hindu-Muslim tensions....
Several other Indian cities -- Jaipur, Bangalore and New Delhi -- have been hit by serial bombings since May, also claimed by the Indian Mujahideen....
New Delhi recently unveiled new security measures to tackle what Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said were "vast gaps" in intelligence gathering.
"Suspected bomb attacks"? Have all journalists turned into idiots? Reminds me of the ever more frequently seen expression "alleged suspect".
Yeah lets not single out Muslims because other religions have bad elements too. Jeez it just amazes me the stupidity and idiocy of left that again shows what the price for that is. All deaths due to Islamic Jihad falls on the shoulders of Muslims and their apologists and list will continue to grow.

Remember, peoples, Extremism is the problem, not Islam nor Muslims. All religions - Hindus, Christians, Jews, Buddhists, etc. have their extremists whom we should all be equally wary of.

In India, majority Hindus have no voice. Any time a bomb explodes, only thing done on behalf of government is to issue statements like "Prime Minister Condemns bomb blasts" "Home Minister requests everyone to maintain peace and calm" "Government vows to take action to curb terrorism". Thats it. With this they think their job is done until the next bomb blast occurs. Ruling UPA will NOT take any real steps to curb extremism. Even the terrorist who was caught and sentenced for masterminding an attack on the Parliament of India, a direct attack on the India's democracy, who was sentenced to death by court is still in jail. The politicians are holding back his death sentence being executed. Muslims had the audacity to call a recent Police raid which killed two terrorists a "Fake" and they claim that the police themselves killed one of their colleague & lay the blame on the "innocent muslim young men"...Disgusting vote politics.
