Presidential Message, Ramadan 2008
White House NewsI send greetings to Muslims observing Ramadan in America and around the globe.
The holy month of Ramadan is a special time of prayer, fasting, and service. For Muslims, these days commemorate the revelation of God's word to the prophet Muhammad in the form of the Qur'an.
I thank the men and women of the Muslim community for their contributions to America. Your love of family, and gratitude to God have strengthened the moral fabric of our country. Our Nation is stronger and more hopeful because of the generosity, talents, and compassion of our Muslim citizens.
Laura and I send our best wishes. Ramadan Mubarak.
GEORGE W. BUSH
I could write an Errata Sheet to this little missive. But the real Errata Sheet would require the entire thing to be eliminated, and the practice of this Ramadan well-wishing, a recent one which I believe was instituted by Bush himself after the 9/11/2001 attacks, and in response to them, was a very bad idea.
British Prime Minister Gordon Brown has picked it up as well. “Ramadan,” he said in a recent statement issued in praise of Ramadan, “teaches patience and humility, and reminds us of our shared moral universe; our obligation to others."
There is no "shared moral universe" when one of the sharers is Islam, or adherents of Islam. They do not -- Ali Sina has an excellent comment on this at faithfreedom.org -- observe or even think it worth trying to observe the Golden Rule. They are taught to regard the essential division of humanity to be that between Muslim and non-Muslim, Believer and Infidel. They are taught that there must be uncompromising hostility between the two. And the ultimate goal of all Muslims should be to make sure that all obstacles to the spread and then the dominance of Islam are removed. Non-Muslims under Muslim rule will be given a choice: death, conversion, or -- in the best case -- life as a dhimmi, which means a life of humiliation, degradation, and physical insecurity. This humiliation, degradation, and physical insecurity may be relieved now and again only by a benevolent ruler who might relax the rules (see Akbar) for a time -- that is, he might, for a time, be a Muslim willing not to behave as a thorough-going Muslim.
What does Gordon Brown mean by a "shared moral universe"? What, aside from monotheism, do Christians and Jews share with Muslims? And how important is that, really? Do Christians and Jews have more, or less, to fear from presumably polytheistic Hindus than from monotheistic Muslims?
He knows the answer to that.
In Bush’s statement, meanwhile, that phrase "Our Nation is stronger and more hopeful because of the generosity, talents, and compassion of our Muslim citizens" gives a false impression. It is false. It is dangerous. If Muslims demonstrate "compassion" to anyone other than fellow Muslims, they do so not because of Islam, but despite it. If Muslims show generosity to anyone other than fellow Muslims, they do so not because of Islam, but despite it. If Muslims show "talents," that is so often only because outside of Dar al-Islam they are allowed to exist in a society that is not suffused with the habit of mental submission, nor with severe constraints on free and skeptical inquiry, nor on means of artistic expression. They live in a world in which, for example, Muslim females can do things that would be impossibly difficult or impossible in an Islam-suffused state -- and that too is because this country is not Muslim.
He, Bush, and the team of speechwriters that work on this kind of thing for days at a time -- god, official Washington is full of such tedious mediocrities -- could at the very least have excised that last, mendacious and dangerous, paragraph.
Then it would read:
I send greetings to Muslims observing Ramadan in America and around the globe. The holy month of Ramadan is a special time of prayer, fasting, and service. For Muslims, these days commemorate the revelation of God's word to the prophet Muhammad in the form of the Qur'an.
Laura and I send our best wishes. Ramadan Mubarak.
GEORGE W. BUSH
That's enough. That's more than enough.
"I send greetings to Muslims observing Ramadan in America and around the globe.
"For Muslims, who hold the month of Ramadan to be holy, it is a special time of prayer, fasting, and service but also, historically, a time of victory and conquest over non-adherents to their creed. Said victories and conquests are yet mandated by many verses of what Muslims hold to be the revelation of God's word to their prophet Muhammad in the form of the Qur'an, an alleged revelation commemorated for them by these days.
"I admonish the men and women of the Muslim community to forbear further attempts to achieve such victory and conquest in America. Your political program, both driven by and designed to conceal your enmity toward our values and our rights, has palpably diminished the moral fabric of our country. Our Nation's societal cohesion has been weakened by the malign machinations and inimcal beliefs of our Muslim citizens.
"The First Lady and I send warnings that while Americans bear malice toward none, WE WILL NOT SUBMIT. Pray mark that well."
How can one explain taking terrorists as "allies" in the phony "war on terror", right after 9/11? Ofcourse, there is more, as Wafa Sultan noted: http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=52962 in the midst of the phony "war on terror" .. ofcourse, and yet again, noone payed any attention. But the bigger question, for all Americans, Democrats and Republicans, is WHY? Again, noone was paying attention to Bush's business bunglings, fundings, billions of dollars from Al-Sauds, Bin Ladens and other "finance arrangers" : http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=bush+bin+laden+connection&search_type=&aq=1&oq=Bush+Bin+
.... leading to this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=45f1Riv_z1I
Ofcourse, a lot of this could be "party politics" and "conspiracy theory" but isn't it worrying that a US President/commander-in-chief, who has little or no accomplishments, is a businessman who failed even at business ventures, being bailed out by wahhabbis, whose religious duty is to convert, subdude or kill "kaffurs"? Also, spare a thought to the enormous powers and finance at the finger-tips of the POTUS/head-of-the-Executiye-branch/commander-in-chief. Finally, don't disregard Vincent Bugliosi's legal case aganist Bush Administration.
Bush also opened America's borders for illegal immigration, another yoke on America's neck, but that is another story...
The best analogy that quickly comes to my mind is for F.D.R. to have sent a missive of Greetings and Thanks to the Japanese Empire on December 8, 1941, recognizing the contributions of the Empire to the strength and moral fabric of our nation.
I object to the President's conciliatory message of thanks.
I've got it right. I'm quite sure I have it correctly. Yes, indeed.
I wrote about the president's Ramadan message on September 4th: http://haiddasalami.org/2008/09/04/month-of-jihad/.
I'm not trolling for hits here, but I also wrote about PM Brown's Ramadan message on September 6th: http://haiddasalami.org/2008/09/06/more-of-the-same-from-the-uk/. The post includes a YouTube video of Brown's talk, in case you haven't seen it. It qualifies the British PM for Dhimmi of the Year in ways that are hard to appreciate with access only to the written transcript of his remarks. You really have to see this astonishing idiocy poured out of that simple, clueless face.
Bush and Brown apparently share a speech writer, and he's the guy who's always falling over himself to remind us how "compassionate" Muslims are. Of course, he never fails to speak in reverent tones about THE Prophet, because Mohammed is a priceless treasure to all of us, you know.
Funny, I never hear any of our leaders reminding us about the legendary compassion of Jews or Christians, but they can't seem to talk about Islam without alluding to Muslim compassion.
Why is that, do you suppose?
Haid
I suspect the continual babble about Muslim 'compassion' - just like the abject flattery of that cold-hearted and bloodthirsty apotheosis of despotism, 'allah', within the Qur'an itself, as 'the Merciful, the Compassionate' - is driven by the same euphemising impulse that led the Greeks to call the Furies the 'Eumenides'.
One sees the same phenomenon in the frenzied adulation and flattery heaped upon the likes of Lenin, Stalin, Mao or North Korea's Kim Il Sung.
Further thought - Haid - have you watched 'Islam: What the West Needs to Know'?
When I watched it, I was particularly struck by the footage of President Bush speaking, right after 9/11, and also by footage of PM Blair (I forget the precise context). Both were - essentially - flattering Muslims like crazy.
I looked at their faces, at Bush and then, later on, at Blair, and I said to myself: "deep down, they don't believe a word they're saying!" And after that, I looked again, and I thought: they're afraid.
Watch that footage, Haid, and see what you think of it.
I know what you're saying, dumble.
Yes, of course, I've seen the film, and I've seen those cuts of Bush and Blair in countless other repositories as well.
The "look" to which you refer is exactly why I thought some readers might like to see the video of Brown delivering his Ramadan greetings. He's got that same look. It's uncanny. Macabre. Creepy.
No, I don't suppose any of them believe what they're saying, but fear? I don't see it as fear, exactly. I think they're being genuinely respectful. They're good dhimmis.
I call it the Abraham Complex. Islam is the faith of the ages, the faith of Abraham, and we simply cannot--we must not--resist. That's what I see in their faces as they grovel before Allah.
It's submission.
It's submission.

Join in for a Ramadan carol! Page 666, in your Episcoslamic Hymnals, please:
Tis the season to be fasting.
fawafawafah, wa-fatwah!
Kill the infidels with blasting!
Fawa fawa fah, wa-fatwah!
Doff their heads, those gays in peril,
Fafafa wawawa FATWA!
Troll the blogs and post things puerile,
fawa fawa faaaaah wa fa-at wah!
Don't we all feel better, now? Haid?
Papa Whiskey - I love it!
Bush is a co-conspirator. He called the murderous attacks by devout muslims against the United States as a war by terror thereby ignoring the fatwa enabled attack against the United States by religiously approved edict. Bush’s war on terror is an incomprehensible response to the fatwa induced attack by islam against the United States. It is grossly negligent not to protect the public from the known dangers of islam. Bush makes himself an accomplice to the continuing danger of the fatwa and fatwa induced attack by islam on the United States by failing to fight it and protect the public.
Bush is a guilty accomplice because he has diverted attention from the guilty parties and acts in gross disregard of the truth. The public
is imperiled by islam. His gross negligence is proved by the fact that he has reason to know that the attack against the United States was approved by respected islamic authorities and as such, was an attack by islam against the United States.
The ummah knows that Bush family is in Islam's pocket. And why not? For those who want to see, it is plain as daylight:

And it was not hard to silence Blair:

Yes, Jewel. LOL. That makes me feel MUCH better.
