I first encountered Aziz Poonawalla during my exchanges with the frothing psychopath Dean Esmay, as he is a contributor to his blog. Poonawalla and I have had several unpleasant exchanges, which are as tedious to reread as they were to go through, and in which I was not in every case terribly impressed with his honesty or integrity -- but you can judge that for yourself if you wish to do so.
And now he has written "Terrorists attack Ohio mosque" at Beliefnet, September 29. There are many links in his opening paragraph which I am not reproducing here, including one to the hypocritical statement of Khaleel Mohammed denouncing the film, which I discussed here. Poonawalla writes:
Earlier, I mentioned the Obsession DVD that was inserted in millions of newspapers around the country. That DVD paints a rigid and extreme vision of Islam, with intent to mislead rather than inform. Now, the predictable result of that hate-mongering propaganda is beginning to manifest; on Friday, a mosque in Dayton, OH was tear-gassed, with women and children inside:Baboucarr Njie was preparing for his prayer session Friday night, Sept. 26, when he heard children in the Islamic Society of Greater Dayton coughing. Soon, Njie himself was overcome with fits of coughing and, like the rest of those in the building, headed for the doors."I would stay outside for a minute, then go back in, there were a lot of kids," Njie said. "My throat is still itchy, I need to get some milk."
Njie was one of several affected when a suspected chemical irritant was sprayed into the mosque at 26 Josie St., bringing Dayton police, fire and hazardous material personnel to the building at 9:48 p.m.
Someone "sprayed an irritant into the mosque," Dayton fire District Chief Vince Wiley said, noting that fire investigators believe it was a hand-held spray can.
According to fire dispatch communications, a child reported seeing two men with a white can spraying something into a window. That child was brought to the supervising firefighter at the scene.
There is more, and it all sounds terrible -- but of course even if it is just as Poonawalla says, what does it really have to do with the Obsession DVD? Precisely nothing. Obsession is opposed to attacks on innocent people, and it makes a clear (and not in every sense accurate) distinction between peaceful Muslims and jihadists -- so to claim that it led to an attack on innocents is just another instance of Muslims playing the victim card whenever too much unwelcome attention is shone upon jihadist or Islamic supremacist activity, in order to deflect that attention. DAYTON — A 10-year-old girl sprayed in the face with a chemical Friday, Sept. 26, while at a local Islamic mosque was not the victim of a hate crime, police Chief Richard Biehl said.The girl was watching children whose parents and relatives had gathered at the Islamic Society of Greater Dayton, 26 Josie St., to celebrate Ramadan when she noticed two men standing outside a basement window about 9:40 p.m., according to police.
One of the men then sprayed something through the open window and into the girl's face from a white can with a red top, according to a police report. The girl said she immediately felt burning on her face and felt "sick to her stomach," the report stated.
Other children and a woman in the room felt affects from the chemical and the mosque was evacuated.
"The men didn't say anything to her (before she was sprayed)," Biehl said. "There was nothing left at the scene or anything that makes us believe this is a biased crime."
HAZMAT crews called to the scene started testing for chemicals less than 20 minutes after a member of the mosque called 911, team coordinator Denny Bristow said.
"Whatever chemical was released it dissipated too quickly for us to determine what it was," Bristow said. "We can test for about 130 to 140 chemicals, including pepper spray, and all our tests came back negative."
Bristow said there were no chemicals found on the 10-year-old girl.
A few of the 300 people celebrating the last 10 days of Ramadan with dinner and a prayer session were treated for eye irritation at the scene.
Mosque board member Tarek Sabagh said many people within the mosque speculated that the incident was the result of a DVD about Islamic radicalism titled "Obsession: Radical Islam's War Against the West" that was mailed to area homes by its producers and circulated as a paid advertisement with more than 70 newspapers, including the Dayton Daily News.
"We are not linking the two at all," Sabagh said.
Will Aziz Poonawalla issue a retraction and an apology to the producers of Obsession? Let's just say I won't be holding my breath.
OK..lets see now, 2 men are seen spraying a material into the basement through a window from an ordinary aerosol can. This material is so powerful that it affects everyone in the building. To underscore how powerful this material was..a little girl who said the men sprayed her directly in the face with the aerosol, had no detectable traces on her face when tested later.
To paraphrase Dustin Hoffman.." Something is wrong here..something is really wrong here."

The only thing that stinks are the islamists here in the mosques, perhaps after bending over gas escaped!
the only crime is calling the police after a non crime was committed. l think what we have here is a hoax on the MSM to show how muslims are the so called victims.
if only the non muslims in the ME could have such crimes committed on them instead how muslims truly deal with their non muslims populations,. bomb belts, burning down churchs, torture, rape on non muslims civilians.
All reports of such incidents require a raised eyebrow and a quizzical look. I doubt if one in ten took place, and if it did, I doubt if one in ten was not staged by Muslims themselves. After all, it is very much to their advantage to claim that such attacks are being made, and CAIR has been eager to acquire reports of such attacks, virtually whipping up Muslims to supply them. The police report on this amply justifies such skepticism.
I havnt seen this liked at JW/DW. If it hasnt, then it is a must read.

These folks must be getting pretty desperate since no regular Americans have gone on a rampage. Perhaps with a little more provocation...naw! Americans don't have that hair trigger response that Muslims do, except maybe when they're in the left hand lane on the freeway.
It surprises me that the police and HAZMAT crews didn't smell something fishy.

But these people may live to see the day after a serious WMD attack when they get to see an actual infidel backlash that will make them flee back to the islamic rat hole countries that they came from. Gee someone may have sprayed a chemical irritant into a mosque.This reminds me of when someone supposedly threw bleach on one of the "flying imams" in a so-called attack. How do these "attacks" compare with a Muslim terrorist wearing a suicide bomb vest onto a public bus or another Muslim terrorist driving a 400 lb truck bomb outside of a hotel? Or Muslim terrorists who hijack planes and fly them into buildings? What does any of this have to do with the dvd Obsession which denounces bigotry and attacks on innocents? One thing I've noticed about these so-called attacks on Muslims is that they always seem to result in minor property damage and/or no injuries. Could these attacks be phony?
FYI- More Christians have died in religious violence in America since 9/11 then Muslims. I believe the total is 4 Christians vs 0 Muslims.

Maybe it is just that I'm a native Texan, but I find two things in the news story particularly insulting...
1) When the mosque members decided to invent a hate crime, it was against a little girl. C'mon. We're not the ones who target kids.
2) They really think that if we DID snap, we'd spray a can of pepper spray through a window?
Even though they immigrate to the West, they have no idea who we are. I wonder if Islam makes most Muslims constitutionally unable to assimilate. Of course I know the answer to that question...

I think that in revenge for this terrible hate crime, all islamist extremists should use similar tactics in dealing with the infidel.
Instead of suicide vest, stones, swords, missiles and construction cranes, the believer should replace all these with white cans containing 'chemical irritant' and spray these upon any infidel he finds.
The 5 minutes of minor irritation that ensue will sure show those kafirs what happens when they commit hate crimes!!
I would hope the producers/distributors of "Obsession", are taking note of the disturbance they have caused in some Quarters.
I also hope that they are planning many more distributions...more disturbances are called for.

I doubt it. More likely, its distribution will become a hate crime and no self-respecting liberal will want to own a copy or even admit to having watched it.
That scenario might sound ridiculous, but who'd have thought that over ten thousand attacks on innocent people in the name of Islam in just the last seven years wouldn't bring non-Muslims to their senses?
People don't like admitting that they were wrong. Liberals will go to their graves believing in multiculturalism. America will die with most Americans still believing that all religions are good and that Islam is just another religion.

As an Ohioan, I can say that if I were to be spurned on to terrorism (which I won't be, my religion does not offer me all the sweet virgin booty I can grab in paradise for killing people!)...
Well as an Ohioan, if I needed to be spurned on, it would not be a DVD that does it. IT would be the news reporting on trials taking place right here in Central Ohio against men that we as midwesterners welcomed with open arms when we thought they were here for the American dream... Then came to realize they were planning attacks.
Ditto for those Somalis on aid who live with their "sisters". That third and fourth woman who lives with the Somali and his wife? Those ARE NOT his sisters.
THAT SORT OF THING is what gets me. Not a DVD.
