CAIRO (AFP) — An Egyptian Muslim scholar has called for an end to risible religious edicts after a Saudi cleric said Mickey Mouse was an agent of Satan who should die, local media reported on Wednesday.Sheikh Mohamed al-Munajid, a cleric who often appears on Saudi television and who is also a former Saudi diplomat in the United States, said last week that mice were "agents of Satan" and should be killed.
"Sharia (Islamic law) calls for the extermination of all mice. That includes the rodents as well as 'the famous cartoon mouse'," he said.
He blamed Mickey Mouse for causing people to become soft on mice.
However, Suad Saleh, a woman preacher who hosts a popular television programme on fatwas, or religious edicts, told the English-language daily Egyptian Gazette that Munajid's ruling "tarnishes Islam's image."
"An edict should be based on knowledge, logic and reason," she said. "Yes, mice should be killed when seen according to Islam's teachings. But it is illogical to deal with a cartoon character as a live mouse and kill it."...
No kidding, really?

I guess they reached an agreement to call off the hit on Mickey Mouse in exchange for special "accommodations" during the next Olympics to be held in the UK.

Over 40% of scientific and medical mammalian experiments have been performed on mice. The information gained has been enormous. These neanderthals and their "prophet's" book have no idea what a debt the world owes the mouse.
Mice are part of the food chain. Allah created owls and many other beasts to feed off these rodents. They are part of nature. Allah doesn't believe in nature, it seems. He doesn't even respect his own creations. Duh!

Making an issue of whether or not to kill a real or imaginary mouse is more proof of the insanity of this cult. That, along with the ultimate importance of which way the toilet should face is more evidence that the lives of the followers of this cult are controlled all the way down to the most minute detail. If they really need their "leaders" to speak out about what one should do about these stupid "issues" how can they deny that this "religion" is nothing more than one of those ridiculous cults that believe things like everyone will be reincarnated on Mars if they mass self-destruct at the same instant?
It's really too bad that these people don't receive orders that instuct them to help feed the world's poor and ill, or to do SOMETHING positive for humanity. Imagine how much good they could do if they weren't so skewed in the wrong direction. If they weren't so backward.
