Pakistan fires on U.S. choppers

Friend and Ally Update. "Report: Pakistan fires on U.S. choppers," from NBC News, September 22 (thanks to Infidel Pride):

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan - Pakistani troops fired on two U.S. helicopters that intruded into Pakistani territory on Sunday night, forcing them to turn back to Afghanistan, a senior Pakistani security official said on Monday.

The helicopters violated the border in the area of Lowara Mandi, 80 km west of Miranshah, the main town in the North Waziristan tribal region, at around 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, the official said, speaking on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the subject.

There was no official confirmation.

"We don't have any information on border violation by the American helicopters," Major Murad Khan, a military spokesman, said.

Relations between the two allies became frayed earlier this month after U.S. commandos raided a border village in South Waziristan and killed 20 people, including women and children, on Sept. 3. Pakistanis were outraged by the incursion and the six-month-old civilian government issued a diplomatic protest.

It was the first overt incursion by U.S. ground troops into Pakistani territory, though the U.S. military has conducted numerous missile strikes against al-Qaida and Taliban targets in Pakistan's tribal lands.

Pakistani troops fired on two U.S. helicopters that crossed the border at the same village, Angor Adda, a week ago, again forcing them to turn back, according to residents and security officers, though both Pakistani and U.S. officials issued denials.

Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari is due to meet President Bush on Tuesday in the United States.

In an interview with TODAY's Ann Curry, Zardari repeated Pakistan's objection to U.S. forays inside its territory. "I think if [the United States] let us tell you we're already there, we'll catch them," he said.

He said incursions were in violation of the U.N. charter. Asked whether Pakistan's military would use violence against U.S. forces, Zardari replied, "Whatever it takes."

Hosting and protecting terrorists is also a violation of the U.N. charter.

Pakistan didn't seem to have this problem when we were handing them a couple hundred million a month, what.....did the checks bounce?

The best friendship money can buy.

Let me get this straight. Pakistan is now effectively protecting the Taliban and Al Queda under the pretext of national sovereignty while those two groups of thugs are actively working to undermine the national sovereignty of Pakistan. Only in the wacky world of Islam.
Also we have the Pakistani army incapable of stopping those two groups of thugs from crossing the Afghan border at will but when U.S. forces get anywhere near the border the Pakistanis are on them like flies on honey. That also only makes sense in Islamic world.

Will India be pointing out the quote 'incursions are in violation of U.N. charter'?

India might want to point out to Pakistan their own hypocrasy on the 'incursion' position.

Bin Laden's hidey-hole must be somewhere very nearby.

Maybe we should threaten to blow the dust off of General MacArthur's strategy for stopping the Chinese from crossing the border into Korea during that "police action."

More help from our arab allies in the war against radical islamfacism, NOT TERROR. Let' get it staright and not water things down state dept. style. "Incursions are in violation of the U.N. Charter." Is that a joke, for real, U.N. Charter?
A charter from a worthless, gutless organization that is cowtowing to violent islamic influences the world over. Not to mention trying to outlaw criticizing islam within the U.N.itself. Damn those Jews, damn those infidels who dare say anything bad about our religion of peace, even if it is true. Screw the U.N. and it's charter, and all other impotent resolutions it has passed in
the last few years. The is
a useless organization and the USA should drastically cut down or end it's support of such a feeble, worthless organization. If these jerks shoot at us then we need to shoot back at them. Pakistan is like our ally like Saudia Arabia is, NOT!

We are just satarting to see already the loss of mushariff he will be missed and a big loss to the islamic war against everyone else.
Basically the ousting of musharuff was a combineing force of liberals and islamics sound familiar to you like the us and europe we are in big trouble 5 years no longer pakistan will be run by the very people we are fighting and with nukes.
Alquiada will gain control.

Pakistan is more democratic than the USA. They actually REACT to the outrage of their citizens against border incursions.

Here in the US we have Bush encouraging our border guards to be put on trial for doing their jobs.

Here we have Bush calling the patriotic and UNARMED Minutemen "jingoist xenophobes"!

Looks like Pakistan defends their border much better than we defend our own.

Govermentment of the people by the people for the people.

Yup. Right. Yup...

"Great job, Brownie.. burp.."

From article: Asked whether Pakistan's military would use violence against U.S. forces, Zardari replied, "Whatever it takes."

I wonder if he will look Bush in the eye and tell that to him, He will have his chance soon...tomorrow even...

Maybe he can bring Mahmoud along to help make himself better understood.

"I think if [the United States] let us tell you we're already there, we'll catch them," he said.

well it looks to me like there never going to go after these thugs because the muslim

is he a moron? mind you with all the incest *(marrying your 1st cousins) that happens in dar al islam he just might be

Another few billion to the current thug-in chief will fix it, but only for a little while...

Just a word to the Pakistani Army - better have your affairs in order in case the Americans shoot back.

Can't do nuthin' about it. Got an economy to nationalize and busy preparin' fer a war with them Ruskies.

So far as I know the only thing that has ever worked with the Paks has been the godfather-style offer they can't refuse -- you can take the money or get blown to hell.

I think the fanatic elements over there are trying to up the ante, on the expectation that the US will chicken out when faced with Pak nukes.

Remember, the jihaddi doctrine is that the US is a "paper tiger".

And with the election coming up, I'm not sure if the US actually can make a believable threat.

I don't envy the US military commanders right now. They know what to do all right. But I doubt that the upper command in DC will let them do anything sensible at all, like f'rinstance toasting any Paks that fire on them.

The Americans will defend their troops with "whatever it takes".
