Pakistani army spokesman: Troops have orders to "open fire" to stop U.S. cross-border ops

More on this story. "Pakistan orders troops to stop US raids," from the Associated Press, September 16:

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan - Pakistan's army spokesman says its forces have orders to open fire on U.S. troops if they launch another raid across the Afghan border.
Pakistani officials issued sharp protests to Washington after helicopters ferried U.S. commandos into Pakistan's South Waziristan region on Sept. 3 for a highly unusual ground attack into a militant stronghold.
Army spokesman Maj. Gen. Athar Abbas told The Associated Press that, after the raid, the military told its field commanders to prevent any similar raids.
Abbas said that if it was clear that troops had crossed the ill-defined border into Pakistani territory, either on the ground or in the air, that troops should "open fire."
"No incursion is to be tolerated," he said

They are getting pretty cocky. It must be all that money and weapons we gave to them. It is nice to know we have real smart people running things.

Pity those poor troops who have to defend themselves against the pakis.

If they do, they might end up having criminal charges filed against them in US civilian courts.

Hope I'm wrong -- but we have some crazies running things at the top!

While sovereignty should be respected. It appears the pak's have never had control of this region of their country anyway. GWB said "if you are not with us, you are against us", so this makes the pak military fair game in my book. Take them out also! Unless our leaders grow a pair, mean what they say, and take a firm stand, we will never make headway in this battle. Unfortunately, the PC crowd is far too worried about what the world thinks of us. I'm tired of the U.S saving everybody else's ass, and then having them dump on us.

A de facto terrorist state exists in Wazirastan with AGREEMENTS OPENLY MADE between the Pakistani government and the Taliban.

Strip everything else away and the U.S. relationship with Saudi Arabia and Pakistan IS our foreign policy since 2001. It is schizophrenia.

And our president's dream is to make Iraq into a third 'ally' - this one intimately tied to our mortal enemy, Iran.

We're winning!

Pakistan means "land of the pure." This is meant as an insult to Hindus in India proper, viewed as filthy pagans by the ex-Indian Pakistanis, who have dreams of being foot stools for Arabs in Mecca.
Pakistan is pure all right. Pure hate, evil, and ignorance.

Not to worry:

Peace in our time: Jack Straw is on the way to fix it:

‘UK does not support US attacks in Pakistan’

Why dont these Pak military honchos just don suicide belts ?

Suicide by cop.

Ta ta fellows. Keep making these stupid statements, and the best you will be able to do is maybe run for Governor of California. No wait, that position is already taken.

I do not find this surprising. I expected the newly elected government of Pakistan to be more friendly to the Taliban. The treaties enacted since Feburary confirm this, although I held out hope that they would reconsider. It makes sense that the next step would be to restrict our ability to impact the areas the Pakistani government made deals to protect.

Next, I expect a complete revocation of our authority to enter the Pakistani airspace altogether. No more missile attacks. Unless we want to go to war against Pakistan.

After giving away billions of tax-dollars jizya and arms to Jihadi Islamic ummah ( http://www.usaid.gov/pk/ ) , what are the US Commander-in-chief and Chief of State Department, doing about this?

Have Obama and Biden tried to take credit for the idea of incursions to Pakistan? Why not? ;)

Can someone remind George Bush that he said 'you are either with us or against us'.

Orders to 'open fire' are directly against 'us'. Don't negotiate with them, 'return fire'.

BREAKING NEWS

With such serious provocations of attacking the American, Pakistan is showing its true colors of which we knew all along;

Chief of Staff Admiral Mike Mullen has made unannounced flight to Pakistan to meet with its leaders

I've often thought that a strategic realignment with India would be better for us.

The trouble however, I thought, would be that we would have less influence with an economically growing India, than with the productively impotent, hapless and helpless Pakistan.

But with this development ...

I also had an inclination to view flawed Mooshie as the best that Pakistan was likely to produce, and believed he was a far more civilized and sophisticated man than the public was lead to believe.

However I have no such warm and fuzzy sentiments about this new batch.

I'm thinkin' maybe it's time to get a little more cuddly with India.

Can someone remind George Bush that he said 'you are either with us or against us'.
