Pakistani pol: US must hold talks with Taliban

"The solution, the bottom line, is that political stability will only come to Afghanistan when all political power groups, irrespective of the length of their beard, are given their just due share in the political dispensation in Afghanistan."

"US told it must hold talks with Taliban's Mullah Omar," by Isambard Wilkinson in the Telegraph, September 24 (thanks to Jeffrey Imm):

Owais Ghani, who governs the North West Frontier Province and its adjoining tribal areas, is the most prominent figure to date to publicly advocate holding talks with militant commanders leading the insurgency against coalition forces in Afghanistan.

His thinking reflects that of the conservative hardcore of Pakistan's military hardliners who are accused by Western intelligence operatives of supporting the Afghan Taliban as a "hedging policy" to maintain influence in Afghanistan.

"They have to talk to Mullah Omar, certainly – not maybe, and Gulbuddin Hekmatyar and the Haqqani group," Mr Ghani told The Daily Telegraph in an interview in Peshawar.

"The solution, the bottom line, is that political stability will only come to Afghanistan when all political power groups, irrespective of the length of their beard, are given their just due share in the political dispensation in Afghanistan."...

Because Pakistan's talks with the Taliban have gone so well....

"The solution, the bottom line, is that political stability will only come to Afghanistan when all political power groups, irrespective of the length of their beard, are given their just due share in the political dispensation in Afghanistan."...

i've have a better idea. why don't we kill Taliban's Mullah Omar and all the troops of his we can find. then we see how the political stability is.

never negotiate with thugs who willingly and happily kill little school girls...

The Taliban deserves nothing....They have contributed nothing to peace, They kill aid workers delivering food and medicine, they loot and destroy many businesses, they assassinate people at will for alledged crimes..They do not assist earthquake victims, tsunami victims or AIDS victims, They threaten, kidnap, extort, execute, rob, rape, and generally run amok like a death cult on steroids...

They contribute nothing towards civilization or improving life...they are not worthy of negotiations..

The U.S. talk peace with the Taliban? Why, President Barack Hussein Obama would surely agree!

Our friends and allies.

They are almost openly on the other side already.

They're just testing to see if we'll fold before calling their bluff.

The jihaddi doctrine says we'll fold.

Their asking for a Hudna, that means they need time to rebuild. It is time to press the attack!!

Hold talks, the usual tactics of Islam. When weak have a truce to regroup and then continue the attack against infidels.

I hate to be both pejorative and 'expletive deleted' but the only thing I can think to describe my thoughts are:

TALK TO THIS, Ghani

I disagree, The U.S. must NUKE the taliban.

Given our situation if we wish to have 'peace' in Afghanistan we might need to talk to the Taliban, but until the Taliban backers in Pakistan are honest with us, nothing at all will work.

As far as negotiating with thugs, we negotiated with a rather repugnant regime in mainland China, we were allied with Stalinist Russia during WWII. We are 'friends' with the Saudis - Taliban with better robes. Lets not make something a principal went it isn't one for us.

Their asking for a Hudna, that means they need time to rebuild. It is time to press the attack!!

I like where you're going with this............

Mullah Omar? You mean he's still around? Why has he not yet joined al Zarqawi in paradise so they can cavort together with their respective harems? Of course, the same may be asked about bin Laden and al Zawahiri (and al Sadr and Nasrallah and ... long list here).

doeboy, savsiv - I suspect you're right.

Just wait till the majority of kafir troops on the ground, and their officers, everywhere that kafir governments are confronting jihadi insurrection or jihadi invasion, grasp this single basic point: that Muslims *only* sing out for a 'truce' when they are weak, and that that 'truce' will be used to regroup and rearm and will be broken the moment that the Muslims feel strong enough to attack again. That NO 'treaty' or 'agreement', between a Muslim entity and a non-Muslim entity, is going to be permanently kept by the Muslim side, and that therefore 'peace talks' are essentially futile.

And when kafir troops, and those commanding them, fully grasp the meaning of al-taqiyya and kitman and 'war is deception', and therefore understand that whenever the Muslims open their mouths "every word is a lie, including 'the' and 'and'".

Things will then become seriously unpleasant for the sneaking, lying, back-stabbing jihadists.

Remove the weapon of deceit from the Ummah, treat their elaborate flim-flam always and everywhere with the disgust and contempt that it deserves, and the kafir world will stand a much better chance of defending itself and surviving.

US ex-officials want good US relations with Islam

http://www.iht.com/articles/ap/2008/09/23/america/NA-US-Muslim-World.php

We need more 'Diplomacy:'

Former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright; former Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage; Stephen Heintz, president of Rockefeller Brothers Fund; and Ingrid Mattson, president of the Islamic Society of America; were among members of the group.

Remember Ingrid Mattson? Here:http://jihadwatch.org/archives/022342.php

WASHINGTON: The next U.S. president should speak out for better relations with the Muslim world in his inaugural address and pursue an accord between Israel and the Palestinians within three months of taking office, a diverse coalition of 34 former U.S. officials and civic leaders said in a report being issued Wednesday.

The proposals, which include diplomatic engagement with Iran, are designed to reverse Muslim extremism and enhance U.S. international security. They are based on the conclusion that improving U.S. relations with Muslim countries and communities is critical, the report said.

Also, it said, the new president should reaffirm immediately a U.S.commitment to prohibit all forms of torture.

doeboy is correct. Meeting with the likes of sub-humans like the taliban -and those muslims in general who, by their silence in not condeming the fascist advance of islam- serves only to allow them time to rebuild and regenerate their murderous capabilities. This is nothing more than the lieing and deception tactics allah endorses in the quran. NEVER! Hunt down and eliminate the taliban criminals against humanity, and others of their ilk, mercilessly. Their disease, i.e., islam, is incurable. Like a rabies infected animal in the neighborhood, you destroy it!

are not you guys fed up with polls, l mean where is the leadership here? leaders cant make a decision without a poll? the drive-by media loves polls, as they create news and not report it anymore.

Maybe send him a note attached to a Cruise missile.
