Back-to-back, Pakistan attacks. Another Friend and Ally Update. The irony is that such drones can help prevent another Marriott-like attack: if al-Qaeda supporting "tribesmen" shot at it (which is at least logical), what is the Pakistani government's logic?
"Pakistanis say suspected US drone shot down," from AP, September 23 (thanks to Jeffrey Imm):
ISLAMABAD, Pakistan - Pakistani troops and tribesman shot down a suspected U.S. military drone close to the Afghan border Tuesday, three intelligence officials said.If verified, it apparently would be the first pilotless aircraft brought down over Pakistan and the incident likely would add to tensions between Washington and Islamabad over a spate of recent American cross-border incursions in the lawless tribal regions.
The officials said the unmanned aircraft was shot down late Tuesday in the village of Jalal Khel in South Waziristan after circling over the area for several hours. Its wreckage was strewn on the ground, they said, speaking on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to brief the media.
Ha! you can hide...not really..
That's our so called ally. Pakistan with the billions of dollars in aid to fight Islamic terrorists it happens to shoot down a US drone while the Al Queda roam freely in its territory. The UMMAH is one.
"village of Jalal Khel in South Waziristan"
Well, I think I would host a little party here. It would start off with a rather explosive fireworks display...
Why are these attacks on Americans not being treated as acts of war?
Of course, jizya flows unabaited (and how does it matter, as long as it is not Condi's or Bush's money):

What passes for "logic" in the Islamic world is that "blood is thicker than water".
So this means that when your Islamic husband beats you, then you blame the evil infidels for it and stand by your man, instead of blaming the one who beat you.
It also means that if your Al-Qaeda brothers car-bomb you, then you again blame the evil infidels and stand by your ummah, instead of blaming those who bombed you.
No bodies, guys. All you have to put in front of tv cameras are some machine parts. Sorry we didn't give you the dramatic props that would have come from shooting down a manned vehicle.
Does shooting down an infidel drone qualify as "killing for allah"?

Good question. Most patriots will agree that 9/11 itself was an act of war. Yer, POTUS himself went out of his way to remove references and pages involcing Saudi Arabia, ensured Saudis and Bin Ladens were let out of USA while all flights wer egrounded and finally, included terrorists (Saudi Arabia and Pakistan) as his allies in the phone "war on terror". What does this tell the world about US Commander-in-chief? Attacks like these are a natural fall-out, then again, somehow, the billions in Arbusto and Harken Energy had to be paid-off, if not in cash, in cover-ups.

US military officials deny any reports of a drone being shot down. But I wouldn't be surprised if the Pakistanis did shoot one down
Time to start leaning on Pakistan, hard.
I really hope that the dopes in DC have India on the phone.
I have the money-back guarantee right here. $30 billion dollars, please, cash on the barrelhead. Now, Pakistan, now.
The Pakistani government's position IS logical... they want to sit on the fence.
it is difficult to behead a drone..
Let's see. The US has so much debt so it borrows money from China to give to Pakistan, who funds the jihad against the USA. Blowback economics. Insane.
Send them a bill for it, with a note that the next one they shoot at will shoot back Deduct it from the next jizya payment.
The taking of our embassy in Tehran more than thirty years ago was an act of war. The same regime remains in power, while the US is about to elect the sixth person to occupy the WH since that fateful day in 1979.
Should the US open another embassy in Iran while the Mullahs rule the roost?
With all respect to Barbara Slavin, no. HECK, NO!
Will Obama open an embassy anyway? Probably.
Will McCain? Probably.
We do have to show our good faith, don't we?
Semi OT, but does anyone know how long it would take to recover the banking bailout money if we just quit paying money to countries that hate us?
You know, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq, Egypt, Palistine, Yemen, Jordan, Somalia, Algeria, Tunisia, Morocco, France, Belgium, Netherlands etc. etc. etc.
"Tribesmen" shooting down drones is probably not a good idea. When the drones come back they are going to be really mad and they may breathe fire on their villages and kill their goats. The tribesmen's thunder sticks may not frighten the drones next time, especially if the drones decide to come at night.
