Pennsylvania woman deeply offended to learn that there's a jihad against the U.S.A.

Clueless%20and%20Proud.jpg
Truth offends her

Reaction to Obsession DVD distribution shows many Americans clueless about jihad, Part 2: "DVD on radical Islam offends Lemoyne recipient," by Carrie Cassidy for The Patriot-News (Central Pennyslvania), September 11:

Sally Lopez said she opened the mailbox at her Lemoyne home on Monday and found a DVD entitled "Obsession: Radical Islam's War Against the West."

The independently released documentary showed scenes from the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks and other attacks in London, Madrid, Spain and Beslan, Russia.

Lopez said she was offended by the DVD.

Right on, sister. I'm offended by jihad violence too. The murders of innocent civilians in the Twin Towers, subways in Madrid, buses in London, and in school in Russia, all by jihadists -- these murders offend me deeply.

But of course, that wasn't what offended this good citizen. What offended her was hearing about it.

And after learning her daughter, who lives in York, also received a copy, Lopez said she wondered whether there was political motivation behind the mailing.

"My thing is, I'm not stupid. There are definitely radical Islamic cells all over the world, but we also have the Aryan Nation, the [Ku Klux Klan], all kinds of hate groups out there," Lopez said. "They're just instilling fear in us. I'm tired of living in fear."

Right. Best to ignore them all. Then they will just go away. And as for Ms. Lopez's casual moral equivalence, the Aryan Nations and the KKK haven't committed over 10,000 acts of violence around the world since 9/11 alone. They don't have international organizations stretching from Europe to Indonesia. But never mind. It's all just fearmongering.

Ostriches. Heads. Sand.

"They're just instilling fear in us. I'm tired of living in fear."- Sally Lopez

Well Sally, given the choice, I'd wager that victims of recent jihad events would have preferred to have the opportunity to live 'in fear' instead of 'in denial' like you.

Care to trade places with any of the victims Sally?

I suppose you could ask this woman when the last time the KKK or Aryan Nation committed an act of war against the U.S. resulting in mass fatalities, but she'd probably call that 'fear mongering'

On the other hand, this woman is wrapped in a happy cocoon of delusion, and perhaps she's gloriously happy in her ignorance. Maybe she's even happier than those who understand jihad.

At least we won't be surprised-or unprepared- when the 'death to America' crowd comes knocking again.

I thought Denial was a river in Egypt.

Get over yourself, Sally Lopez, and consider yourself lucky to have been exposed to the Truth; and hopefully you'll snap out of your denial and spread the word by sharing the DVD with others.

She is not the only one.

This guy is worse, far worse.

Because he also writes in newspapers:

http://blogs.orlandosentinel.com/entertainment_movies_blog/2008/09/obsession-a-dvd.html

But that's not all. There is also the war against the 'relentless prosecutor' of Sami Al Arian:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/09/13/AR2008091302275.html

Look at that woman's sour, self-righteous face; she's probably offended by any, and everything, that impinges on her own little world.

The thing is---she really is stupid.

Hey JW guys, could you PLEASE eviscerate this article by Fareed Zakaria?

http://www.newsweek.com/id/158764

Here are some choice tidbits:

"To lump together all Islamist groups is to exaggerate and misunderstand the threat....If America can keep its cool and provide the help that countries really seek—in development, modernization and democracy-building—then we will gain in both security and legitimacy.....We live in remarkably peaceful times....It's also worth noting that ever since World War II, the United States has tended to make its strategic missteps by exaggerating dangers....The paranoia about communism helped fuel McCarthyism at home and support for dubious regimes abroad."

arrrrrgh!

She looks so deep.

I've seen that movie, it's disturbing for sure. And WE are the ones that should be disturbed, because we are the "enemy".

How she could be offended is beyond me....ostrich is right!!

Hmm, I wonder what sort of reception a DVD release exposing the "global" activities of white supremacist organizations would receive?

Fear-mongering, I'm sure...

/sarc.

Moral equivalency thinking almost always leads to dopey conclusions. Old Sally is sadly not an exception to this rule. Oh, yeah, should add that moral equivalency thinking, like political correctness and multiculturalism, is entirely a result of modern Left-think. Old-fashion liberalism as well as conservatism, whether old or modern, are not culpable here.

The West is now faced with a double assault----the modern Left attacking from within with its contempt and blind disregard for traditional Western institutions and Islamic fruitcakes attacking from without with all the hate and intolerance we know such folks are capable of in spades. Old Sally could be a fine poster girl for the former. I'd still put that bastard, Osama, as chief poster boy for the latter. What a pair they make. Incongruous in one way, but yet in another not at all. Not one bit.

How did reporters know to interview her about the DVD? Did she call the newspaper? Did she arrange a press conference? Why? Who is she anyway?

"My thing is, I'm not stupid." --Sally Lopez

Unfortunately, yes, you are. In fact - you're clueless.

Look at that woman's sour, self-righteous face; she's probably offended by any, and everything, that impinges on her own little world.

The thing is---she really is stupid.

Ain't it the truth. I'd call her ignorant, not stupid. Look at where she lives - across the river from Harrisburg, PA. She is near Amish country and lives in a community that is over 95% white. Cumberland County, PA is a beautiful place. I wouldn't be surprised to learn this woman has never even met a Muslim. She is living in her own private Eden. If this DVD offended her, all she had to do was toss it in the trash.

Yeah, good question---who is this woman?

(Is she hoping, maybe, to sue, and make the big bucks, now that she's been "offended"?)

This is a comment to the article on Sally:

"Sally Lopez must be so proud! CAIR, the terrorist support group in the US, has a link to this article.

Congratulations Sally, the terrorists' appreciate your support."

I hope Sally read that one.

She's just an old lady who doesn't know anything.

pavlov's dog,
If Robert doesn't put up Zakaria, can you put it up? I can't reach it, whether it's because I have an old Windows or because I don't subscribe to Newsweek.
Based on what you showed us, Zakaria seems to think that all we have to do is buy the world's support. I'd like to know why no one anywhere in the world feels it necessary to curry OUR favor but we have to get down on bended knee.

Ms. Lopez forgot to mention La Raza, MEChA, or Atzlan. Gee, I wonder why?
Not that they compare with the violence from Islam, but they do compare with the slimeball groups she did robotically mention.
What a stupid, sanctimonious dolt she is.

(Is she hoping, maybe, to sue, and make the big bucks, now that she's been "offended"?)

Just looking for her fifteen minutes. See if she ends up on The View or another talk show.

Hey PMK, you are trashing my hood of clueless crackers and tolerance types. I live in the county NEXT to the county which is across the river from Harrisburg. So I would be deeply offended if I weren't so utterly plussed by her insolationist views.

We are told by the left that we are more apt to be clobbered by "Climate Change" than from islamist terrorism. its okay for the Michael Moore's to scare you, but when we have 1400 years of documented
violence from islamists we are scaring them. Left are all emotions and no logic.

WELLINGTON: "...moral equivalency thinking, like political correctness and multiculturalism, is entirely a result of modern Left-think."

No doubt about it...and the common denominator linking moral equivalencey and multiculturalism is relativism.

WELLINGTON: "The West is now faced with a double assault----the modern Left attacking from within with its contempt and blind disregard for traditional Western institutions and Islamic fruitcakes attacking from without with all the hate and intolerance we know such folks are capable of in spades."

Hence, what I refer to as the Islamo-Left. Did you ever happen to read David Horowitz's 'Unholy Alliance'? Chapter two is just incredible.

Perhaps a trip to Detroit or Dearborn MI would help awaken her?

The sad truth is that the Sally Lopez types endanger us all. And there are millions more just like her.

Hey PMK. Here it is:

The World Isn’t So Dark

Ever since WWII, America has tended to make its strategic missteps by exaggerating dangers.

Published Sep 13, 2008
From the magazine issue dated Sep 22, 2008

Fareed Zakaria

On the campaign trail, the debate over foreign policy has been muted of late. That might be because more-important topics like lipstick and hockey moms have taken center stage. But the contrasts between the presidential candidates also seem to have softened. Their differences over Iraq policy have shrunk as the place has stabilized somewhat and the Iraqi government looks for a timetable for a U.S. withdrawal. Both candidates oppose Iran's nuclear ambitions and Russia's incursion into Georgia. Both support a vigorous fight against the Taliban in Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Yet there's clearly a fundamental difference in the way the two candidates see the world. The split might best be captured by asking a simple question: what kind of a world do we live in? Neither candidate has been asked this, and I doubt either would answer as frankly as I am suggesting, but here's my guess—drawn from their writings and speeches—about what each might say.

We live in a very dangerous world, John McCain would respond. In his eyes, Islamic extremism is the transcendent challenge of the age. Jihadist warriors—funded and supported by states that adhere to their views—pose the central threat to the United States. In the rise of China, Russia and India, McCain sees turbulence. Russia and China, being autocracies, represent a special danger. Moscow's attack on Georgia was, for McCain, the "first serious crisis since the end of the cold war." The role for America, in such an environment, is to aggressively use its power—hard power—to fight evil, spread freedom and defeat the enemy. Otherwise we will lose the struggle for the 21st century.

Obama's sense of the world is more optimistic. The dangers are real but not so all-encompassing. Obama speaks less of Islamic extremism in general and more of Al Qaeda and its affiliated groups specifically. He points out that compared with the cold war—when thousands of Soviet nuclear missiles were pointed at American cities—the threats we face today are reduced. He argues that most people in the Islamic world want development and a better life, not jihad. America's promise remains alive even in these countries.

America's role, for Obama, is to restore its military strength, fight Al Qaeda and its ilk, and deter rogue regimes like Iran. But it is also to stay calm, because in overreacting to dangers, we often cause new problems and crises. To lump together all Islamist groups is to exaggerate and misunderstand the threat. The Iraq War, for Obama, is a prime example of an alarmist overreaction, one that had the United States launch an unprovoked invasion of a country and rack up huge costs. If America can keep its cool and provide the help that countries really seek—in development, modernization and democracy-building—then we will gain in both security and legitimacy.

There is some truth to both visions of the world, but in my view the reality is much closer to Obama's—more so than most American politicians seem willing to admit. We live in remarkably peaceful times. A University of Maryland study shows that deaths from wars of all kinds have been dropping dramatically for 20 years and are lower now than at any point in the last half century. A study from Simon Fraser University finds that casualties from terrorism have been steadily declining since 9/11. It is increasingly clear—look at their voting from Indonesia to Iraq to Pakistan—that very few Muslims anywhere support Islamic fundamentalists. More countries than ever before now embrace capitalism and democracy.

It's also worth noting that ever since World War II, the United States has tended to make its strategic missteps by exaggerating dangers. During the 1950s, conservatives argued that Dwight Eisenhower was guilty of appeasement because he was willing to contain rather than roll back communism. The paranoia about communism helped fuel McCarthyism at home and support for dubious regimes abroad. John Kennedy chose to outflank Nixon on the right by arguing that there was a dangerous missile gap between the Soviets and the United States (when in fact the United States had almost 20,000 missiles and the Soviets had fewer than 2,000). The 1970s witnessed a frenzied argument that the Soviet Union was surpassing the United States militarily and was about to "Finlandize" Europe. The reality, of course, was that when neoconservatives were arguing that the U.S.S.R. was about to conquer the world, it was on the verge of total collapse.

Since end of the cold war, similar alarms have been sounded several times. In the 1990s, the Cox Commission argued that China was building a military to rival ours, citing numbers that soon proved to be bogus. Then there's Saddam Hussein, who was described as a powerful and imminent threat to the United States. In fact, the greatest problem that we have faced in Iraq is its weakness, its utter dysfunction as a state and a nation. Rhetoric about transcendent threats and mortal dangers grips the imagination of the American people. But it also twists U.S. foreign policy in ways that can prove to be extremely costly to the country and the world.

Here in the America many high school kids don't even know where Canada or Mexico are relative to the U.S.

Ms. Lopez probably went to the same high school.

"Right. It's all just fearmongering"

i saw no intent at moral equivalence...people who hate are cut from the same mold. Robert , don't ever defend what the western equivalent of hateful jihadis are, it makes you look very bad. i could never articulate your perspective on islam but how much violence and hatred does the kkk and aryan nation have to acheive to be in the jihad club?

Cornelius: Have not read that particular work by Horowitz but have read many of his articles over the years so I know enough about him to realize that he is a recovering Leftaholic. But thanks for the reference nonetheless. I'll have to take a look. Take care, pal.

Jewel,
Forgive me, I didn't mean to trash the place. I go there frequently and I think it's beautiful. (Have you ever been to the Allenberry Playhouse?) It's such a neat place to live. You can be in the middle of nowhere but close to the city. I just think this woman has a skewed view of what life is like because those issues haven't come to her. She doesn't know how lucky she is.
She's never had to deal with these issues. Everyone she knows is wonderful and so she looks down on the rest of us.

Pavlov's Dog,
Thanks for posting the article.

Pavlov's Dog,
Thanks again. Good reading. Zakaria is looking at the situation as a historian and not as our leaders saw it when it happened. Hindsight is 20/20. It would have been irresponsible for us to assume in the 1970s that the USSR was on the verge of collapse. That "reality" was not evident at the time. It took another ten years for it to come to fruition.

For the life of me, I can't understand why people are upset w/ Ms. Lopez. After all, what she said -- "My thing is, I'm not stupid. There are definitely radical Islamic cells all over the world, but we also have the Aryan Nation, the [Ku Klux Klan], all kinds of hate groups out there. They're just instilling fear in us. I'm tired of living in fear." -- is nothing that bush couldn't have said. In fact, when she refers to "radical islamic cells," I think she ties these terrorists more closely to the religion of islam than has bush, who to this day maintains that the islamic terrorists misunderstand their own religion, which, when they're not out wilding, they study 24/7. No, I don't think she reflects the moral equivalence nonsense of the left so much as bush's mendacity about islam as THE religion of peace, about how the tens of millions (watch it, george), OK ten million (george!), OK 2 million muslim Americans, who bravely carry on with their lives, contributing immeasurably to the common welfare despite the daily spoken and unspoken bigotry from unenlightened Infidel Americans.

sheikh,

Lopez said she was offended by the DVD.

Because there are OTHER hate groups in the US, does that mean we ignore THIS one? Each group offers its own unique dangers.
What did that woman have to be offended about?

The photograph, the pose, the text itself --"offended" by not what the DVD makes clear, but by the fact of the DVD itself -- all this makes one think immediately of that great reflecter of American life, The Onion.

Yes, surely this is a story that appeared not in the Patriot-News, but in The Onion.

Isn't it?

PMK,

perhaps she feels threatened by the guy with the balaclava on the cover. Who knows? Look at the hysterical reaction at HuffPo! Totally unhinged.

This Fareed Zakaria article is just another one in a long series of propaganda pieces that identifies him as a die-hard agit prop of the Islam-intern. Would be nice if Hugh would write an article about it.

Here's my take, a work in progress:

Fareed Zakaria NEWSWEEK

America's role, for Obama, is to restore its military strength, fight Al Qaeda and its ilk, and deter rogue regimes like Iran. But it is also to stay calm, because in overreacting to dangers, we often cause new problems and crises. To lump together all Islamist groups is to exaggerate and misunderstand the threat. If America can keep its cool and provide the help that countries really seek—in development, modernization and democracy-building—then we will gain in both security and legitimacy.

* Yep. Can't lump them all together, although they all want the same thing: to make the world Islamic. No, we should ignore 11.000 terrorist attacks since 9/11. We should ignore the Islamic agenda and the global jihad since 1400 years.

"Overreacting"- that's the new buzz-word. That'll fix it!

How exactly, Mr Zakaria, did the 'United States launch an "unprovoked invasion of a country'-' Unprovoked? You gotta be kidding. And why should America, the most benevolent country on earth, be burdened with the cost and the responsibility to provide Muhammedan countries with 'help they really seek-in development, modernization and democracy-building—so we will gain in both security and legitimacy.'

Really?

Tell us, Mr Zakaria, where are the Arabs who have received 11 trillion in undeserved wealth over the last 30 years, where is their help to their Muslim brothers? Don't they have an obligation apart from building mosques and madrassa's, from indoctrinating children with the jihad ideology and providing them with weapons and explosives to lift them out of poverty and to improve their lives?

Well, you know as well as me that we'll never get an answer. What's infuriating is that we have so many of these agents of influence in the media, the judiciary, even in politics and that no one calls their bluff.

Gotta go!

Where can I get my free copy. I promise I won't be offended. This woman has no idea the gift she has been given. Dingbat Lopez has been given the gift of knowledge and enlightenment and is to ignorant to realize it.

I'd just like to ask Sally Lopez one question.

Does the DVD contain accurate information?

Photogenic magnetic energy, this lefty barrel of light and clarity exudes. Truly a Kodak moment.

"Perhaps a trip to Detroit or Dearborn MI would help awaken her?"

a trip to Lahore, Tehran, Darfur, or Khartoum would do better...

No, PMK, but I did sit through some vile dinner theater at Dutch Apple and Rainbow, which were bad places for Amish to show up in order to be entertained. I think they went for the hideous food, because the actors, supposedly British all lost their accents and sounded American part way through the shoe fly pie. I thought I had seen a dour looking face like the one at the top of the article we are talking about, but it was magnified many times over by offended Mennonites and Amish people.

I'm offended by the open button on her blouse (stomach area) and the sneer on her pasty face. It's the face of someone who hates what they don't understand. I'll bet she makes that face a lot.

Yews ornt supazed to twalk about 'at! (local dialect)

Sally, please post it to President Bush c/o The White House.

God, I hope so. No offence, Mr. Fitgerald.

So. It has been taking a long time to connect to www.jihadwatch.org since I installed the CA internet security package, including "parental controls". Apparently jihadwatch is considered a "hate site" by the automated "intelligence" in the software, from a company called "puresight.com". A password override is required for access to jihadwatch. The uninstall software feature of Windows will soon itself be accessed.

I type in the password and what do i find? A news item about a woman with as much intelligence and wisdom and head-in-the-sand attitude as puresight.com and Computer Associates.

Sad stuff.

I'm offended by her ugly mug, she needs to wear a bag to protect others from her hideous visage.

Still, I expected Starshine Patchouli not some bitter old woman that swallowed a tree-stump and finished it off with a crate of limes.

That’s exactly it, she hit the nail on the head when she say ,"I’m tired of living in fear." People are too scared to see what’s really happening; they don't want to see it. In my opinion it would be offensive to thing that DVD was offensive ha-ha. I'm a little confused. Why is seeing information, hearing about it, and knowing what is going on offensive. Just because it's scary? There is no way to make your fears go away unless you fight them, and the rise of Islam in western civilizations is a scary thing, it's scary how Muslims can just grow and grow then slowly engulf a civilization from inside. Muslims can get us in America to believe what they want us to believe because we always have to be so politically correct that we can say anything that would be slightly offensive to anyone, even if it's the truth and something we should know without being called a racist. That’s what they want, and that’s how they take over, they use it against us. It is scary, yes. However it's not something to be ignored.
PS.
For any of you that don't know me I' Ethomans 13 year old daughter. I came on here because my Dad said you guys are really smart and you could explain stuff to me. I want to know things because I’m learning about Islam in school and they say it's so wonderful it's great! ha-ha. They say the rise of Islam in Spain was glorious and prosperous. I don't buy it. I want you guys to help me understand more and I appreciate everything you tell me. :)
And yes I do gymnastics...I just had to say that.

opps spelling errors:
*think
*politically correct that we *can't
*

What a foolish and willfully ignorant woman. Did she even bother to watch it?

How can you help people who refuse to be helped?

The saddest part of this story is the fact that I didn't get a copy in my paper. Oh, and the fact that people like Sally Lopez actually exist. There are far too many Sally Lopez’s; hopefully "Obsession" will wake a few though.

"My thing is, I'm not stupid."
Quote from the article.

Your "thing" doesn't appear to be functioning, madame.

Someone please get a burka on that thing and spare me having to look at that face.

I am really upset that I am not getting a few copies of this dvd for me and my buddies. At least one for me would have been cool so I could force every single one of my friends to watch it and wake up to reality.

I wish I was hanging out in Pennsylvania to score a copy of this amazing piece of work.

Look both ways when crossing the road! Arhh forget it, I'm sorry, didn't mean to alarm you.

Sally saw the cover and assumed the contents of the DVD was all finger pointing without a moments thought that muslims themselves and their 'leaders' were puting it all out there for her to see.
Thick as mud...

Shiek - what a pleasure it was to read about a really competent person in government - Gordon Kromberg, U.S. Assistant DA - prosecutor in the Al Arian case. There are others - really heroes we do not hear of much. and then there is this creep:

"Find out where his kids go to school. Find out where his office is. Picket him . . . call him a racist," said Mike Gravel, who ran for the Democratic nomination for president this year, according to an audiotape. ..."

He ran for president? Good lord.

"He ran for president? Good lord."
Posted by: Jimmy Bones (referring to Mike Gravel).

Jimmy, Mike Gravel is one of those colorful and idiosyncratic characters that have made Alaska politics so interesting and inexplicable to outsiders. Read the Wikipedia article on Mike Gravel to get a flavor of the political climate here in which Sarah Palin came of age and has had to maneuver. While you're reading about colorful Alaska characters, also read the article on Joe Vogler, the founder of the Alaska Independence Party. Sarah's Palin's husband (but not Sarah, contrary to rumors) was a member of AIP many years ago.

This woman is sadly typical of the ignorance all over the world. So self absorbed with themselves they ignore what is staring them in the face. When it is too late she will probably complain that no one bothered to tell her about the problem and that "someone" should have done something.

Go figure.

@gymnast - get a copy of Legacy of Jihad by Andrew Bostom, from your local library. Also get Robert's Onward Muslim Soldiers and The Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam (and the Crusades). The "Islam is/was beautiful" crap is thoroughly demolished there.

All - notice that Ms. Lopez includes jihadis in the hate group category ("all kinds of hate groups out there")? Not that she's incorrect. They do hate us. But we've become so cavalier about labeling behaviors and speech as "Hate" that the word has lost meaning. In this instance, where its use is actually warranted, it's being used to minimize the threat!

Isn't that alarming to anyone but me?

Give a sad old lady a break. Look at her. She IS scared. She's been scared for a long time, maybe all her life, over one thing or the other. In the 50s, Commies and the Bomb. Then blacks and hippies and protests and riots. Yuppies. Aids. Crime. Poverty. Illness. Old age. Then 9/11. How much more fear can her tiny brain absorb? How can she possibly deal with any more, this poor, sad middle-class woman? Far better to ignore it, try to forget about it, be offended by the very idea of it, so she won't have to face the truth.

Well, she got her fifteen minutes of fame...wonder if she will write a book?

Sorry we disturbed you Mrs. Ostrich, please put your head back in the sand.

I wonder if she had ever left the House for anything other than Grocery Shopping. A once every two weeks affair to catch up on the headlines at the checkout.

The MSM would find a person like this even if there were only one like her in the State.

Did she even watch the DVD? Was she afraid it would bite her?

sheik yer'mami, the link you posted:

I went to the site.

I have read Toameh pretty regularly in the Jerusalem Post.

According to Wikipedia: Khaled Abu Toameh is an Israeli Arab journalist and documentary filmmaker. He is the West Bank and Gaza correspondent for the Jerusalem Post and U.S. News and World Report, and has been the Palestinian affairs producer for NBC News since 1988. His articles have appeared in The Sunday Times, Daily Express and the New Republic.

I'd just like to ask Sally Lopez one question.

Does the DVD contain accurate information?

Posted by: The Cool Ghoul

How would she know? She probably didn't even watch it. Judging from her reaction, she knows nothing about Islam.

gymnast_2,

Right again.

However, I'm not sure this woman is living in fear. I think her objection is because she doesn't WANT to live in fear. She prefers to pretend that everything is just fine. Her attitude can be summed up in one sentence:

A little knowledge is a dangerous thing and ignorance is bliss.

She and many others (myself included) would prefer to live in blissful ignorance. Some of us don't have the luxury and pretending there is no problem won't make it so. This woman apparently thinks otherwise.
The odds are that if she does experience a loss from terrorism, she will blame it on the people who put out that DVD and on people like you and me. Those who injured her will escape all responsibility.

DANG! All I got in my mailbox yesterday was a Wal-Mart ad, featuring dog food ...

I would have rather gotten "Obsession."

Trade ya, Sally!

Well, ignorance is bliss, no? Till you're killed anyway.

PMK

You have just described the thought process of everyone in Washington.

Also, McCain is only down 3 points in NJ now. Here in MO he is up several points.

If anything offends her, it should be the "educators" in the public schools she attended that left her so clueless. When her children go to the new schools in dhimmi-land, they had better listen better lest they lose their clueless heads.

Mo and PMK,

Same thing I was wondering! Did she actually watch it, or did she just object to it based on what the cover looks like?

Is that how she checks books out of the library?

Don't worry, Sally. Burqa's are "one-size-fits-all".

I still wonder how the reporter found Sally.

Did Sally call the reporter? Do they know each other? Was this 'reaction', 'prearranged'?
To make a point about what?
Was this creating news rather than just reporting it?

Is Sally just looking for attention?
I bet she is attention starved.

How many other calls did this reporter get from offended people? Out of the 'thousands' of offended callers, why did the reporter decide to feature Sally?

I smell a rat...Someone is someones relative, friend or associate. I wonder if Sally belongs to any 'organizations'?

"My thing is, I'm not stupid. There are definitely radical Islamic cells all over the world, but we also have the Aryan Nation, the [Ku Klux Klan], all kinds of hate groups out there," Lopez said. "They're just instilling fear in us. I'm tired of living in fear."

My thing is, I'm tired of living in fear too.
No more news about cancer, or Alzheimer's, or hurricanes, or even fire. Shut up!
I want to live in an insulated cozy little world where reality cannot enter.
See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil.

For those of you who haven't got a copy just download it from a torrent site.
This is one of the best.

As the makers are distributing it free in newspapers i'm sure they wont mind.

A free DVD? Wow! I had to buy mine for $27 (includes shipping). And well worth the price, too. Sadly, by own daughter (0ne of them anyway) feels the same way Sally does! Oh well; you can lead your children to knowledge but you can't make them think.

Pretty in Pink? Nah!

Welcome to JW. Your dad is right! Keep reading about jihad and terrorism and tell your friends! Right now 'word of mouth' is one of the best ways to combat this hateful jihad. Is your teacher a Muslim? If so, beware.

My thing is, I'm not stupid.

I beg to differ…

There are definitely radical Islamic cells all over the world, but we also have the Aryan Nation, the [Ku Klux Klan], all kinds of hate groups out there," Lopez said.

That's right, if we're not absolutely, 100 percent perfect, who are we to point out a minor deficiency like ten or twelve thousand jihad attacks resulting in 80000 or so deaths since 9/11. Why, I'll bet those Aryan Nationers and KKKers killed several people and used some really bad language.

"They're just instilling fear in us. I'm tired of living in fear."

Yeah, I'm tired of living in Fear too, but it looks like Stupidity is all filled up. Just give them nasty ole Geehodistists that grimace of yours. That'll probably take care of it.

Oh, and Sally, every time you demonstrate your unwillingness to stand up against a thuggist ideology like Islam, you give encouragement to other thugs like the Aryan Nation and the Klan.

gymnast_2, I'm glad you're reading JihadWatch because you will learn the truth about Islam, not the sugar-coated, revisionist history they teach in our public schools. If you are studying about Islam in school, maybe your Dad could help you formulate some tricky questions to ask in class, questions that would blow a big hole in the politically correct version of Islam that you are being taught. It is a crying shame that our schools spend more time indoctrinating students in cultural Marxism than teaching them authentic history.

You sound like a very smart girl and you definitely have a head start on your friends where Islam is concerned, thanks to your Dad. Tell your friends what you know and encourage them to come here and read the articles. If we don't educate the American people about this deadly threat and do something about it, you and your friends will have to deal with it as adults and with all the other misfortunes that await you (trade deficit, social security, energy crisis, to name a few), you'll inherit plenty of undeserved catastrophes, thanks to our gutless, profligate, inept politicians.

Zakaria's an asshat. He asks for US aid to 3rd-world nations bent on destroying us, while the entire thesis of 'The Post-AMerican World' is that these 3rd-world nation have (a) actually pulled themselves up by their bootstraps, despite a complete lack of evidence of this having happened except in China and among non-Muslims in India, thus excluding the Islam factor and denying reality more generally, and (b) that both nations which have done this (which he presents as a pervasive phenomenon) have done so without Western aid, which is only true of China. Furthermore, he presents this 'progress' in the 3rd World as being completely independent of Western Enlightenment ideals, ways of government, human rights, etc., when in actuality the 2 cases in which it has actually occurred are the direct result of this. India would be entirely Muslim without the British and later the US. China is thriving because of Western economic principles and a semi-Judeo-Christian work ethic. Every other 3rd-world nation is considerably worse-off than it was 30 years ago, all of them because of Islam. See Nepal and Rwanda, who are screwed by virtue of being non-Muslim isolates surrounded by Islam. See Ethiopia, Nigeria, Kenya after semi-Islamization; see Sudan, Egypt, even the oil-rich Iran after more Islamization. See Bosnia after gaining independence. Look at what Paki Islamization did to Bangladesh. I repeat: Zakaria's an asshat.

Ibn Warraq is the only intelligent Pakistani I have ever seen, met, read, or heard of with the exception of Abdus Salam, who Muslims and Pakis refuse to claim as one of their own because he was an Ahmadiyya, and he only prospered because he was educated and worked in the West.

Thank you so much for being so nice to me and helping me understand these things you guys and girls are the best :) Thankies to angryamerican,Susanp, and PMK

Sorry to burst your collective bubble, but there is lie, deception, and misdirection through out this "documentary".

In the film obsession, Mr. Itamar Marcus makes the claim that students are subjected to materials in a Jordanian and Palestinian school book that suggests Islam will dominate all other faiths through Islamic Jihad fighters.

However, the Arabic text is clearly visible and is horribly mistranslated. This film has been used as an educational tool. However, it is filled with falsehood and errors. See below for the correct translation.

The creators of Obsession claim:

“This religion [Islam] will destroy all other religions through the Islamic Jihad Fighters”

The Arabic text actually says:

------Begin Arabic Translation------

Racial Discrimination

One of the components racism. It relies on the principle of race supremacy. It is a principle that divides humans on the basis of racial identity and classifies them into superior races and lower races, and it grants the superior races tangible and non-tangible privileges as well as deprives the lower races of the same privileges.

These privileges take several forms such as the right to live in areas restricted for the superior race, and the same goes for schools, hospitals, public transportation, and all public services. Also the appointment and election to the high public offices and positions.

The members of the lower races suffer of persecution and physical and emotional abuse. They work in jobs and professions that are considered demining.

Some of the best examples of racism the racial discrimination in the world are: Nazism and Zionism.

The concept of Racial Discrimination.

------End Arabic Translation------

The text makes no mention to Islam, Fighting, Religion, or Jihad. This is only one example of many that expose the lack of scholarly work put into the making of Obsession: Radical Islam’s war against the West.

It’s important to note that this film bundles over a hundred years of history, random places, events, scenarios, pictures, videos, and blurs the lines of socio-political situations and Religion. It fails to put into context the difference between culture and Islam. The translation of the text above is one of many distortions contained within the documentary film Obsession.
