Spencer: The Islamic World Looks at Obama

bidenobama.jpg
"See them, Barack? They're some of your biggest fans"

In Human Events today I examine the Islamic world's enthusiasm for Barack Obama:

Barack Obama caused another stir over his ties to Islam on Sunday when he noted that “John McCain has not talked about my Muslim faith” in an interview with George Stephanopoulos. Stephanopoulos immediately corrected him, and Obama backtracked to say, “my Christian faith…What I’m saying is that he hasn’t suggested that I’m a Muslim.”

A few pundits tried to make something of this, attempting to revive the “Obama is a Secret Muslim” rumors, but there really wasn’t anything more to it than a verbal stumble. Obama is not a Muslim, and there is enough to question about training, experience, ideology, core values, and judgment without endlessly parsing the slip of the tongue of a tired man.

It is noteworthy, however, that just as this tongue-slip was making the rounds, Menashe Amir of Radio Israel’s Persian language service noted that “one of the Iranian religious leaders said if Obama will enter the White House, then Islam will conquer the heart of the American nation.” Amir, who was born in Iran, said the Iranian mullahs favor Obama “mainly because he is a Muslim.”

This recalled the words last June of Libyan strongman Muammar Qaddhafi, who characterized Obama as “a black citizen of Kenyan African origins, a Muslim, who had studied in an Islamic school in Indonesia.” Gaddhafi declared that “all the people in the Arab and Islamic world and in Africa applauded this man. They welcomed him and prayed for him and for his success, and they may have even been involved in legitimate contribution campaigns to enable him to win the American presidency.” He called on Obama -- whom he referred to as “this black man” -- to “take pride in his African and Islamic identity, and in his faith,” and “change America from evil to good” so that America would “establish relations that will serve it well with other peoples, especially the Arabs.”

Qaddhafi is famously loony, but there is no doubt that the Obama campaign has generated enormous enthusiasm in the Islamic world. Some of it is probably generated for propaganda value, and some is quite real.

Egyptian journalist Yasser Khalil declared recently that “Barack Obama represents a phenomenon that has drawn global attention and captivated the minds of Muslims around the world.” Writing from Cairo, he said that “in spite of the campaign's heated debate and some controversial rhetoric regarding Islam, large segments of the Muslim population here remain fascinated with the election and have become big fans of Senator Obama.” He explained this fascination as a manifestation of Muslim “hope in the political approach of Obama and his advisers. His apparent eagerness to rally more international support for US policy, and even talk to America’s ‘enemies,’ is cause for optimism. Imagine what global politics might look like in Iraq, or Sudan, or Afghanistan, if Obama-like vision had influenced US leadership earlier.”

We can imagine that all too easily -- and that’s the problem. The Iranian mullahs and Qaddhafi, among others in the Islamic world, are hoping that Obama will talk to our enemies the way Europe -- still suffering the horrors of World War I’s aftermath -- hoped that Neville Chamberlain would fly to Munich to talk to Adolf Hitler in 1938. And Obama, naïve and supremely self-confident, will be all too eager to oblige.

Since Obama would be talking to our enemies from the standpoint of the common liberal “blame America first” assumptions, he is likely to come away from such talks with results similar to those obtained by Neville Chamberlain. He will obtain Peace In Our Time, yes: but that time will last only until the next attack against Americans or our allies. Like Chamberlain’s, it will be a supremely fragile, evanescent peace that will render us weaker -- both militarily and in terms of national will. And when it is reached, in the face of the global jihad threat, it will have made it easier for Islam to “conquer the heart of the American nation,” and nothing will be done seriously to impede its global advance.

The millions who suffer under the oppression of the Iranian mullahcracy deserve better -- as do our allies in Israel and everywhere that free people are threatened by the jihad and Islamic supremacism. Barack Obama is not a Muslim. But the enthusiasm he has inspired among those who would like to see America brought to her knees indicates that they, at least, know exactly what he really is.

Daniel Pipes also wrote an interesting article on this topic:~

IMHO we are all in an awful lot of trouble should this man assume the Presidency.

Once again he has a golden opportunity to tell the world that he's not a Muslim. Instead he shifts ground and says he's somethin else. Never a complete denial!

If he's elected president, he will be probably the last democrat elected to that office for 20yrs, if ever.

Here's an interesting article on Obama's radical socialist background in Chicago by Melanie Phillips. Couple this with his sympathy for Islam and be afraid...no, be concerned. Fear eats the soul.

That his paternal family is Muslim or that his maternal family were communists is not the problem. After all, some of the harshest critics of Islam are ex-Muslims (Ayaan Hirsi Ali, Wafa Sultan, Ibn Warraq), and some of the harshest critics of communism were "red diaper babies" like David Horowitz.
What is very disturbing is that Obama decided on his own to join a genuinely racist, anti-semitic, psycho-led "Christian Identity" church for African Americans, and now he is the chosen Democrat for president.

It amazes me how the fertile mind of Mr. Spencer keeps coming up with clever captions for that particular picture. Keep 'em coming!

Muslims are desparate with anything sounding islamic, and if NOBama fits the bill they will use it. It would be a funny thing if (hopefully not!) that NObama is elected, that he would declare war on an islamic state,ie iran, then the muslims would declare him an aposate. There is an old saying, be careful what you wish for, for you may just get it. (not always nice).

I'm with Max to a point - I do think that his paternal family of Muslims is important but I also believe that this "Black Liberation Theology" is a bigger problem. Obambi hints at it himself with such race baiting comments about how he isn't the same kind of presidents we see on paper money. Between his "liberation" and his Marxism relationship with Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn, the Muslim issue becomes easier to believe. Radical ministers and Marxist mentors that are brazenly anti-establishment with no alternative solution other than the failure of capitalism is not my idea of who I want impressing the mind of our president.

Interestingly, Obambi, by preaching his "community organizer" value (well, OK, for him its "experience") shows the same talent for deceit that Muslims practice - A. Hirsi Ali's book "Infidel" shows how important "community organizers" are in the communities she grew up in. Obambi just does the same thing that clerics and imams do in muslim communities.

So was it just a slip of the tongue? Maybe.

Or not.

Back to basics...

I don't think Obama is a muslim in legalistic terms, but I think he is an Islam sympathizer.

Anyone who believes, that Allah is God, and Mohammad was/is his messenger', is a muslim by 'sympathy', if not actuality.

That's why the key questions are. Is Allah God? Is/was Mohammad his messenger?

If one believes that Allah is God (we all worship the same God), and acknowledge Mohammad's, messengership, he has given Islam credibility as an authentic religion, he believes the Quran, even if he has not read it, even if there is no prayers, no jakat, no jihad, he is a 'sympathetic' muslim just the same, and Allah is his god.

For Barack, how deep this sympathy goes will directly effect his behavior toward everything Islamic while he is in office.

There is a branch of magick called 'sympathetic magick'. The magician enters into a state 'sympathy' with the target and exerts some kind of control. Vulcan mind reading would be an example, where Spock enters into a state of 'sympathy' with the subject and can read his mind.

Most of the muslims of the world seem to agree that Barack is already in a state of 'sympathy' with them.

He will not be able to control this magical act because he is not the magician.

Islam and it's sons are the magicians, and they will play Obama's magical sympathy like a symphony...

Imagine what global politics might look like in Iraq, or Sudan, or Afghanistan, if Obama-like vision had influenced US leadership earlier.

"rally more international support for US policy"
"talk to America’s ‘enemies’"

What was Bill Clinton doing for eight years but seeking consensus in the world?
He even went after Islam's enemies in Serbia. What did it get us?
What did talking to America's enemies in the Islamic world ever get anyone? Iran-Contra?
When was the last time a Muslim nation talked to its sworn enemy - Israel? Where is Arab leadership on this issue except on the side of Israel's destruction?
We've BEEN talking for almost twenty years, and on Israel for twice that long. Where has it gotten us?

OT, but interesting:

Taliban Weighs In On Canadian Election
Tuesday September 9, 2008
The Canadian Press

A Taliban spokesman says he's well aware of Canada's looming election and he supports whichever party is more likely to pull Canadian troops out of Afghanistan.
Qari Muhammad Yussef says the election is why insurgents have stepped up attacks on Canadians in Afghanistan.
He says that includes the most recent roadside bomb attack in Panjwaii district that killed Sgt. Scott Shipway on Sunday.
While he doesn't know which party is most likely to withdraw Canadian troops from Afghanistan, the spokesman says such a platform will be `good for that party and for their nation and for the Canadian people.'
He says he's familiar with Prime Minister Stephen Harper, but isn't sure about the other candidates or parties vying for the country's top job.
As for the impending U.S. election, Yussef says he doesn't care much for American politics and believes the next president, regardless of who is chosen, will be just as bad as the current one.

Spencer: The Islamic World Looks at Obama (Article title)

....And they like what they see.

And now Obama states:

"You can put lipstick on a pig," Barack Obama told a rally in a reference to a line in Sarah Palin's vice presidential acceptance speech. "It's still a pig.

Now we know that WOMEN in the Islamic world are only worth 1/2 of what a MAN is worth.....or equivalent to cattle. So....I believe a PIG is even a more filthy animal to the MUSLIM......which I believe Obama's faith could possibly be. Getting hard to cover up his true feelings when he just starts to run off his mouth in these small town meetings.

His own sister said this in the NYT,
"My whole family was Muslim, and most of the people I knew were Muslim." - BHO's half-sister, Maya Soetoro-Ng
"My Muslim faith..." rolled off his tongue a little too easily.
He may consider himself some sort of "christian" (notice the lower case 'c'), but the Black Liberation Theology Jesus is not the Jesus of scripture. If moslems feel comfortable in Wright's church , something is wrong.
His associations with Rezko, Ayers, Dr. Khalid al-Mansour,
http://www.cashill.com/natl_general/mansourian_candidate.htm
and countless others, should keep him from ever holding public office.

The rise of Obama and Bush's unpopularity are to a large extent attributable to the naivete of our government in its unrealistic hopes for democracy in Iraq and Afghanistan. What initially started as a clear attempt to define goals commensurate with our security needs - overthrowing or fighting regimes that harbored terrorists and had WMD - veered off into more dubious and ambitious directions. Suddenly it was very noble, with Bush extolling the high ideals of the "Iraqi People". Never mind that Iraq dates from 1922 and that the people there identify as Muslims, an identity going back 14 centuries. And what does Bush know about Islam, other than it's a "religion of peace"?
My fear is that we will then elect someone even more naive than Bush, and the mistakes will continue.

On Monday in Michigan, Obama became exercised when talking about the need to give even suspected terrorists legal rights.

“We may think this is Mohammed the terrorist,’’ he said at a campaign rally, but “it might be Mohammed the cab driver. You might think it’s Barack the bomb thrower. But it might be Barack the guy running for president.’’

Continuing, he got more heated, his voice booming. Referring to the Constitution, he said: “Don’t mock the Constitution! Don’t make fun of it! Don’t suggest that it’s un-American to abide by what the founding fathers set up! It’s worked pretty well for 200 years!!’’

He finished with a sigh: “These people."

I posted this yesterday in the "Lipstick" forum, but perhaps it is more appropriate here.

There is an ironic symbolism involving Sarah Palin that I'm sure has not gone unnoticed by anyone familiar with their religion.

It was Sarah, wife of Abraham and mother of Isaac, who was responsible for chasing out Hagar and her son Ishmael.

Think the Muslims may have noticed this, too?

I wonder how long it will take for someone in the Muslim world to make the connection and start a riff on this as still more "proof" of ongoing Judeo-Christian right-wing efforts within America to destroy Islam? I'd love to see a question about this sprung on Barack Hussein Obama just to see the reaction.

Eastview,
That's good.

I would ask the following of any Muslim who makes such an argument:

1. Why aren't you happy that Sarah pushed your ancestors (which is what Muslims claim) out? You rose to be a great power. The Jews were overtaken or sent into exile a few times before Muslims arrived.

2. You talk about Judeo-Christian efforts to destroy Islam. How? What about Islamic efforts to destroy America and Israel? It was a man named Mohammed who led the attack on America in 2001 and his act was celebrated in the Muslim world.

3. How far do you carry a first name? What about "Joseph" or "Mary"? We had a president named "Abraham". We will have a vice-president named "Joseph" or "Sarah". How stupid can Muslims be?

Another Radical Obama Association? [MUST READ]

Old videos appear to show a radical Muslim named Khalid Al-Mansour helped Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama gain acceptance into Harvard Law.

Civil rights activist Percy Sutton recalled being solicited by a man named Dr. Khalid A-Mansour to write a letter of recommendation to help Obama gain acceptance into Harvard Law in this undated television interview available HERE.

"I was introduced to him [Obama] by a friend who was raising money for him and the friends name was Dr. Khalid al Mansour from Texas,” Sutton said. “He is the principle adviser to one of the world's richest men. He told me about Obama. He wrote to me about him and his introduction was 'there is a young man that has applied to Harvard and I know that you have a few friends left there because you used to go up there to speak, would you please write a letter in support of him?'...I wrote a letter in support of him to my friends at Harvard saying to them I thought there was a genius that was going to be available and I sure hoped they would treat him kindly."

There are many videos available on the internet featuring a man named Khalid Al-Mansour, who describes himself as an author, scholar and businessman, blasting the Jewish culture and Christianity and preaching the virtues of Islam, reminiscent of the controversial clips discovered of Obama’s longtime friend and former pastor Rev. Jeremiah Wright that rocked headlines earlier this spring.

In one of the videos, titled “Christians Designed Discrimination” uploaded by a YouTube user named IslamStudios, Al-Mansour said, “White people don't feel bad, whatever you do to them, they deserve it, God wants you to do it and that's when you cut out the nose, cut out the ears, take flesh out of their body, don't worry because God wants you to do it."

He also draws lines between whites and African Americans. “The Christianity that white people got and the Christianity that black people got was not the same,” he added.

In this video, Al-Monsour said white people fear Islam. “The whites are saying we can’t take over Islam, we are going to destroy it. They don’t care if you become a Buddhist, they don’t care if you are a Confuscist, you can be a Christian, you can be anything in this world you want, the only thing they are afraid of is Islam because there is 1 billion 200 million, they don’t want you with that league!

In another video, posted July 1, Al-Mansour styles himself as a political analyst, advising former president Bill Clinton when, where and how Clinton should endorse Obama for president. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xBnBnXPQwyM

sounds like a plot from 24....which would be good because then we could call Jack Bauer and all would be well, altho it would take a whole tv season.

What is very disturbing is that Obama decided on his own to join a genuinely racist, anti-semitic, psycho-led "Christian Identity" church for African Americans, and now he is the chosen Democrat for president.

A very astute observation, Max! If "Rev" Wright were a white minister spouting an analogous "white theology", the U.C.C. would have disowned him long ago, the feds would have jailed him for some racist conspiracy, and no aspiring politician would have come within a mile of him.
It's the old double standard. When Jesse Jackson ran for President and spoke at the Dem. convention, the MSM fawned and gushed over him, about how he had such "moral vision", and how he represented the "soul of the party". But when Pat Robertson acted similarly among the Republicans, the MSM vilified him, saying that he shouldn't try to mix religion with politics, and that he was trying "to impose his own moral views on other Americans."

"See them, Barack? They're some of your biggest fans"

Barry Hussein: "That bunch of losers? Allah help us! Uh, I mean, God help us!"

My fear is that we will then elect someone even more naive than Bush, and the mistakes will continue.

jewdog,

If Obama gets in, your fear is confirmed.

McCain, though not completely "getting" the threat of Islam, could hardly be more naive than Bush, and is nowhere near as clueless as Obama.

In either case, wouldn't you like to sit the both of them down in a room, and make them read one of Robert's books before leaving? Problem is, I think only McCain would come out the wiser. I really believe Obama, with all his muslim background, will never see Islam for the cancer it is.

Or, no matter how much lipstick...uhmmmm,, errrr...

Folks, remember Obama's "57 states" gaffe?

Someone just pointed out that there are 57 countries in the Organization of Islamic Conference.

Might this put his "my Muslim faith" slip in a new light?

The good news is that Obama is an incompetent campaigner who has never faced a tough Republican which is why he is trailing or tied in national polls with McCain. Obama will likely lose this election as the more Americans see of him the less they like him.He also does not have the political skills of Bill Clinton or even George Bush. Obama is also one of the least qualified men ever to run for POTUS.He actually has less executive experience then Dennis Kuhcinich who was a city councilmen who went on to become the Mayor of Cleveland, Ohio.

I have come to the conclusion that Obama answers to two religions. He is a Muslim to Muslims and a Christian to Christians. But I must be wrong about this because who ever heard of a "two-faced" politician?

you can take a Muslim pig and put some lip stick on him and he would still be a Muslim pig.
