These workers were unhappy with the extent of accommodation of Muslim practices that they were offered by the Swift plant managers. They would, as per the absolutism of Sharia, accept no compromise. So they walked off the job, and were fired. And now it's time for the courtroom jihad, where they will almost certainly prevail -- paving the way for further concessions to Sharia on the part of American businesses.

An attorney for the United Food and Commercial Workers Union told fired JBS Swift & Co. workers he plans to make the company prove in every instance that the employees violated their union contract.Attorney John Bowen, along with other state representatives -- including Jim Riesberg, D-Greeley -- spoke Saturday during a meeting at the Union Colony Civic Center and assured the Muslim workers, fired for not going to work because of a conflict about Ramadan accommodations, that they have rights.
"The company will argue that you engaged in a strike that violated the contract," Bowen said. "We will require them to prove for each of you that that happened."
Bowen told more than 100, mostly Somalis, that the company violated several provisions in its contract. JBS officials contend the Muslim workers violated the contracts.
In preparation for legal action, Bowen said the fired workers need to document how and when they were fired.
Bowen said he filed 90 employee grievances Friday, and he expects to file more Monday. He has also filed a grievance on behalf of the union.
"The situation you find yourself in is as workers is not unique, but it is a difficult one," Bowens said. "Your situation is complex."
It still unclear how many employees were fired, as union spokesman Manny Gonzales said he received different numbers from the list provided by JBS. A JBS official said on Wednesday about 100 workers were fired.
Riesberg promised the crowd he would do his part to ensure they are treated fairly.
"We need to spend a lot of time negotiating with Swift so you can have your jobs back," said Riesberg, who fielded questions from frustrated former employees.

I just wish I'd known of all these wonderful legal options years ago when I turned down a job that would have interfered with the practice of my faith. Who knew I should have taken the job anyway and then sued to make them accommodate me? I was so naive, I thought I was supposed to accommodate the person paying for my time.
My union would go through the motions, if there were any motions to go through, but my contract is very specific about wildcat strikes. They aren't permitted. In essence, this is what the workers who refused to go back to word are guilty of.
If the Somalis aren't as welcomed by their union bretheren as everyone insists they are, the union is going to lose some members, and some dollars.

Looks like the AP is attempting to make the muslims appear to be the real victims. Instead of reporting on the unreasonable and unfair demands the muslim workers have made (and ignoring the compromise Swift made between muslims and non-muslims), the media is focusing on unsubstantiated claims by the workers, such as being kicked during prayers or male supervisors raiding the women's restrooms.

The basic work agreement between any employer and employee is that the employee will show up and do an honest days work for an honest days pay.
If they cannot bring themselves to do that, barring legitimate medical reasons, the management has a responsibility to fire them.
The purpose of any company is to make money and eliminate what keeps them from it.

Strange...No one would think of eating dinner in the bathroom, next to the toilet, but the same people brush their teeth there, wash their feet there, and even pray there.

I can't believe Swift hired all those pious Somali muslim union members. Unions are bad enough but now they've got CAIR, lawyers, and a big employee turnover to contend with. The muslims will exploit the system to the max and they'll probably win the lawsuit. So that leaves employers with one option to avoid walk-offs, lawsuits, and CAIR's intimidation---don't hire muslims. Of course, if nobody hires them they will go on welfare, which I believe was the plan all along. A big legal settlement and then welfare for them and their endless spawn. In the UK we've been importing third worlders for years - despite the already high population density.
