Swift plant on Muslim prayer accommodations: never mind

An update on this story. "Plant Rejects Muslim Employees' Requests to Meet Prayer Needs," from the Associated Press, September 18:

GRAND ISLAND, Nebraska — Managers at a Nebraska meatpacking plant have told Muslim employees, most of them Somali, that shift changes made to meet their prayer demands weren't working and would be ended.
Union president Dan Hoppes said Thursday that the workers reacted well to the news, but he didn't know whether they would walk out later in protest as they did Monday.
He and managers at the JBS Swift & Co. plant are still talking about meeting employee needs and maintaining plant production.
Workers were sitting down with managers for discussions before the second shift started Thursday afternoon.
Counterprotests by non-Muslim workers began Wednesday. They said the shift changes penalized them while favoring the Muslim workers.

Really?? How nice a shake, for once if it holds up. If the disgruntled islamic workers complain or protest perhaps telling them that they have been fired and will be replaced with non-muslim workers who do not act like spoiled brats when they do not get their way. Of course the aclu and cair would go to bat for these poor, misunderstood
workers who will want footbaths and halal vending machines in the break room next. I am surprised the muslim workers have not complained about the clothes or having to wash on a regular basis. Makes no sense to change something that affects the entire plant does it? Never satisfied, they will always DEMAND more and more. Sound familiar?
"Man the watchtowers and remain vigilant, for those who slumber on their watch will not wake to see the dawnn." We should see this as another warning and threat to the very foundations that this land was founded on!

Thank god some people are realising that the favoritism shown towards Muslims and their appeasement is often punishing the non-Muslims into being forced to accomodate while no one gives a rat's ass about non-Muslims.

If the Muslims can't assimilate to a decent degree like other non-Christian groups have in the west, then maybe its time for the Muslims to leave.

You never see any of us Hindus asking to do our worship in the middle of the workforce. We leave religion at home and work is work.

By law religious accommodation cannot be at the expense of other employees.This accommodation for Ramadan lead to greater inconvenience and lost wages for non-Muslims, a clear violation of federal law.This is why we have separation of church and state and why religion should remain in the home or the church and out of the public square.This also points to the difference between Muslims and other religious groups. What most people will do if there is a conflict between their job and their religion is to first try to work out a compromise privately and if that does not work then they will find other employment.One example is Jehovah's Witnesses who have five meetings a week, with three of those meetings occurring during the week.People who work second shift will have trouble attending these meetings. Most will try to work out a compromise with their employers or will attempt to switch days with other employees.Those that consider the meetings very important will usually seek other employment. When was the last time you heard of a JW suing for days off or demanding that other employees work in his place? Incidents like this serve to education the public about the true nature of Islam.

The most significant part of this story is that the AP actually picked it up. I hate that they still haven't realized that there is no compromise and are still negotiating, no doubt with CAIR. Even if they don't say so, and even if they deny collaborating with 'Muslim groups,' to which they outright admit anyway, CAIR or some other Hamas front has obviously infiltrated their labor union. This was obvious from day one with that Osman guy, no doubt straight out of Egypt. There is no compromise. That's why religious accomodation in the workplace does not exist in practice. Never has. That's how time works. That's how civil rights work. That's how physics work.

Roxane, Muslims are not a 'religious group.' Islam is not a religion. It is a totalitarian, Arab-supremacist death cult and a political ideology for inbred, baby-raping, misogynist, Nazi terrorist savages. Period.

Part of the brilliance of Islam as a political ideology is that one cannot simultaneously be a Muslim and be anything else, thus Muslims must devote their entire lives to furthering Islam and brainwashing themselves into continuing to do so.

One cannot be a Muslim and a productive worker, and not just because of the ass-wiping, water-snorting, praying-that-the-Jooos-all-die-5-times-a-day thing. Muslims aren't supposed to carry out honest hard work anyway. That they must never work to improve their lot in life, never own property, and never succeed unless by killing, stealing, and plundering is absolutely foundational to Islam. They are only to work for Islam. It's not just a principle, but that's the only way it works in practice. That's why Islamic societies have never produced anything but more Islam. They cannot be good employees because the proscriptions of their death-cult intentionally preclude it so that they really can only exist in a Sharia society.

One cannot be a good citizen and a Muslim because they must be live their entire lives parasitizing honest, hard workers and furthering Sharia, which violates everyone's human rights.

One cannot be a good student and a Muslim because they're not to seek real knowledge because all the 'knowledge' they ever need is in the Koran, and everything else is either redundant or wrong. The Muslims were doing the correct thing, according to Islamic protocols, when they torched the Library at Alexandria and every library and university in India.

One cannot be a good parent and a Muslim because they keep their daughters as sex slaves and then pimp them away, breeding them as nothing more than Islamic vaginas for Allah's army. They teach their sons to rape their own sisters and daughters, to live to die, and that they are obligated to keep women, usually other family members, as sex-slave vaginas/breeder cattle for Allah's army.

One cannot be a good leader and a Muslim they must dedicate themselves to furthering Sharia, a doctrine which revolves entirely around endless human rights violations. The Arabic word for 'govern' does not mean 'to steer, to guide,' as in Indo-European languages; it means 'to subdue, to oppress,' just like 'Sharia' means 'the trail down which cattle are herded.'

One cannot be a good person at all because Muslims are obligated to be Jihadists, which means furthering evil and violating people's human rights in every imaginable way, even if it's just letting me know that you want me dead and have no respect for anything decent, civilized, or worthwhile by wearing a headscarf. Muslims can't exist in the free world as Muslims. It simply is not possible.

Bill Warner says that he cannot come up with a single issue, topic, or subject on which Muslims and the free world agree. All that 'we're more alike that we are different' stuff is complete crap. It may seem like it because Muslims are brilliant taqiyya artists around us, but that's a front. If it seems genuine it's because all Muslims are narcissists and at some level they seek our approval, even if it's not the real them we approve of. Muslim have no concept of 'real people.' Islam is all about appearing moral and decent while behaving as abhorrently as possible. Perv Mo was the master of that. That's why he kept redefining 'moral,' which can't be done because morality is objective. They're all very different people at the sleeper cell on Friday with their own kind, supporting the Taliban, molesting children, beating their incestuous Sharia sex slaves, drinking halal Israeli blood, and 'praying' that every decent person in this world dies so that they can plunder our possessions and rape our daughters.

When will employers realize this? You may not be able to discriminate against Muslims per se, but you can refuse to hire people who ask for special accomodations, try to dictate their hours, burden other workers, do not accept their employers' authority unconditionally, mistreat their coworkers, or are so stupid that they believe the earth is flat. They can ask them in interviews if they unconditionally accept the terms of their non-Sharia employment, if they disregard science, if they don't love Christians and Jews, or if they don't regard women and gays as their equals and if the answer is no, even if it's a janitorial job, the employer can refuse to hire them or fire them if they contradict the statements they made in the interview. Furthermore, you can discriminate against anyone from the 3rd world on the basis of the fact that they simply do not have legitimate educations like their American and Mexican-American counterparts. You can discriminate against anyone, even people raised in America, who attended Islamic schools, even if they went on to Harvard, on the basis of the fact that they lack 2nd-grade educations, Harvard or no. I'm talking to you, Obama. We do not need Muslim workers anywhere, working any job in the free world, under any circumstances. If we need unskilled workers there's this big-ass place called 'Latin America' from where we can take them.

The western world needs to work on protecting all employers to hire whom they choose without the fear of violence or intimidation or threat of lawsuits...there are those businesses that have uniform requirements for all employees, there are those hospitals where Muslim attire creates possible unsafe conditions.....the intimidation by the Muslims to force their religious ways upon the host countries has got to stop...period.

I dont understand in the first place why the US or Canada needs to bring in so called "refugees" from other continents. "Walking out in protest" should result in PERMANENT firing and a mark on the employee's record to prevent him being hired at any other SWIFT operation.

Kudos to the employees who protested their rights being trampled upon. If only their managers had the same wisdom, this country would be much better off.

Walking out in protest they call it. But THEY are members of a UNION. This is called a wildcat strike. Wildcat strikes betray and weaken the UNION. It is immensely divisive. Here's a bit of history: A hundred years ago large numbers of eastern European Jewish immigrants lived in New York City, knew little English, and had little education. Most were observant and would not let their children work on the Sabbath. The sons then set up their own businesses or worked for other Jews in the garment industry. The daughters (including my mother) became public-school teachers, because the schools closed on Friday afternoons and did not open again until Monday morning. That's part of the reason for the large percentage of second-generation Jews in self-employment occupations (law, accounting, medicine, dentistry, retail shops) and in the teaching profession. It never occurred to them that anyone should accommodate their customs or beliefs. They took it for granted that it was they who should do the accommodating.

In 1908 nobody had heard of multiculturalism; no one was ashamed to preach "Americanism." Adult immigrants eagerly went to settlement houses and schools to learn English and civics. Their children were taught in English and picked up the language within a few months.

A century has passed; what can we conclude about the policy that dictates that it's the newcomers who should do the accommodating? Who has benefited? Answer: both sides.
