I wonder how he even got to be a Senator with this many questionable associations?.

If Sutton wrote a letter to Harvard for Mansour, Sutton’s letter should be in Obama's student records.

If this NY Sun Article is correct, Obama would have needed influential recommendation letters in addition to affirmative action to gain acceptance into Harvard:

LaBolt said Obama doesn't have a relationship with Sutton and that "to our knowledge, no such letter was written." Obama was in Chicago, not New York, when he applied to Harvard.

"I’m sure he’s written a letter [to someone else] and he got it confused somehow," he said of Sutton, adding that he'd never asked Sutton to write a letter to any university supporting anyone's admission. Mansour said he admires Obama, but first heard of him when a relative sent him a copy of Obama's 2004 convention speech. "I've never met him," he said.

The space under the Obama bus is awfully crowded. Best to play on the frailty of an aging icon than address the substance. Funny how the media considered Sutton to be agile enough for the March 25th interview, which incidentally took place prior to Obamas nomination.

Is it also simply a coincidence that Barry became Barack during his Columbia years? - via Newsweek:

( he entered in the fall of 1981, which would mean his mom visited summer of 1982) NY indicates he changed his name while at Columbia.

Changing ones name to reflect gratitude perhaps?

The evidence for Barack turning out to be a closet Islamist seems to be getting stronger all the time.
Al-Mansour is not a man that any honest aspiring politician would want as a sponsor. The videos on youtube reveal him as an exponent of Hitlerian, frothing-at-the-mouth style rhetoric. Deadly and at the same time bonkers.
As I pointed out though on the last thread, he does not advocate muslims cutting body parts off white people. That is a misunderstanding of his diatribe. He actually talks about the church in S Africa designing the apartheid system in order to oppress blacks (the descendants of Ham). He goes on to link Christian theology with this oppression, as if the church told them to do what they liked, even to the point of cutting off their (black peoples') ears, etc.
Don't forget, too, that Obama was apparently the only American politician who was asked, and yet refused, to support the cause of Mr Chaudhury of the weekly Blitz in Bangladesh, who has been under threat now for about 5 years; of whom Hugh Fitzgerald said:
"Finally, there is th ecase of Mr. Chaudhury, the editor of Blitz, who was arrested, and has been held without trial since 2003 for the crime of trying to establish bettern relations between Israel and Muslim countries. Chaudhury's case should be the subject of intervention by the American governmment. That it has not been is a scandal."

I live in Illinois, here members of various municipal departments, streets and sanitation, parks, water works, fire departments, police are run by patronage, in return for their jobs they also are expected to get out the vote on election day. Many people, not hearing much about Obama before thought that he might be independant, not tied to the corrupt combine of democrats and republicans who run and loot Illinois.

The sitting senator, peter Fitzgerald was denied the endorsement of the republican party for nominating as federal attorney a man with no Illinois combine connections.
His primary opponent had petitions invalidated by a friendly judge.

His opponent in the general election had his divorce records unsealed and was found to have tried to get his wife (who played seven of nine in the star trek series) to have sex in a public club. The republican replacement was Alan Keyes who was seen as a carpetbagger and a rabid ideologue.

Illinois politics is a corrupt mess and Senator Obama did nothing to change them, in fact he has endorsed them every step of the way and taken advantage of them.

In 2004, the Republican Senator from Illinois announced his retirement, and Jack Ryan won the nomination. He was considered a very strong candidate, and the seat had been Republican, so that most of the potentially-strong Democrats, such as Illinois Congressmen, declined to run. The Democrats' choice fell to a comparative unknown, state legislator B. H. Obama, who was considered to have little chance. But then, a major sex-scandal broke concerning Ryan, and he withdrew from the race in August. The Republicans were caught completely flat-footed, and all they could come up with was to import a carpet-bagger from Maryland, Alan Keyes. It was a pathetic attempt to split the black vote, and it didn't work. Obama was just super-lucky; any Democratic candidate would have won in Illinois that year. He just happened to be in the right place at the right time.

That $42K loan would cover about one semester of tuition/room/board. Obama needed a school loan even though he had enough funds to travel to Europe, Kenya for several weeks? Where did the rest of the Harvard tuition/expense funds come from if not a gift from wealthy interests?

Hardly paranoia, when you consider the scumbags Obama has had for friends and mentors over the years. From the communist Frank Marshall Davis in high school to his raist, hate mongering anti-semitic minister and mentor of 23 years Reverend Wright, to his friendship with the racist preachers Meeks and Pfleger, then there are his terrorist buddies Ayers and Dorhn, his slumlord friend Rezko, his PLO buddy Khalidi, and now Al-Mansour.

The sad fact is, Obama warrants extreme scrutiny because of choice of friends over the last 20 years. He doesn't choose clean upstanding people, but scumbags and thugs that most people would walk away from in a heartbeat.

If this is the best the Democrats can do, they better pack it in.

One may well want to investigate the connections of Mr. Obama. His list of substantive achievements is much too short, his time on the public scene too brief to allow any clear answer of just who he is and what he really intends for the country he would lead. And the some of the details don't look pretty.

And the details of the Bush administration were and are equally problematic. Despite Bush's shady priorities a la the portlands management scheme, his intiation of an expensive, fruitless, quixotic military action, his presiding during increasing US indebtedness to China, his many pronouncements that Islam is the religion of peace, his connection to Saudi influence peddlars like Bandar bin Sultan etc. etc. despite all of this, Bush sat through two terms. Why?

In my opinion, if one is to consider the possibility that foreign influence is snaking its way into the American political process, one would have to be open to the possibility that such influence would try to play both sides against the middle. It's not Left vs Right. It's Clean vs Dirty. And while dirt in politics may be common, its presence is never acceptable. And in this case, we have the added concern: Does that Dirt look at all like oily desert sand?

I believe in democracy and I realize more than ever that democracy is not a spectator sport. It requires real involvement, real sacrifice in personal time and effort and a willingeness to ask difficult questions. We have got to get a sense for ALL of our candidates as to who their "friends" are. And we have got to demand from ALL of our candidates a clear answer to this question.

Democracy is about being articulate in asking annoying and vexing questions of public importance. There are many articulate and annoying people who post here. But don't be shy. Don't save it all for the annonymity of this site. Get out to those town hall meetings, question and answer periods. Find out who your candidates are and make them answer the questions. It's a start.

No, you're right... any statement you make will NOT be in the interest of Obama.

...But it would be in the interest of the American people. Obama seems to have more friends and sponsors in countries which hate America than he does at home.

Obama certainly treats foreigners with more respect than he treats at least half the American poulation. He doesn't seem to talk behind foreigner's backs the way he does with some sections of American society.

If everyday Americans (in some parts) "cling to their guns and religion" - what about the Islamic nations Obama is so keen to negotiate with? ...but somehow I don't think Obama will be criticiszing them. Too much to loose, perhaps?

There is another part to the story of how B. Hussein got to be elected Senator. The runner up to Mr. Ryan in the Republican party was a gentleman by the name of Oberweis, I believe, who should have succeeded to the nomination. But he was disliked by the Republican leadership including Imam Abu'sh in the White House and the Imam's oily adviser (who in his last life was known as Grima Wormtongue and who has now become a high paid Fox News consultant) Karl Rove. And what did the GOP leadership have against Mr. Oberweis? He was in favor (shudder!) of enforcing our immigration laws and securing our porous borders. So they imported the wacky and unelectable Mr. Keyes and the rest, as they say, is history.

Obama's name is too close to Usama. But Hussein is a dead give away.
