U.K.: High-ranking Tory says party would cancel legal status for sharia courts if elected

There are many promising pledges in this interview, if only the party will stand with her and follow through on them. "Conservatives would ban sharia courts, says shadow minister," by Jon Swaine for the Telegraph, September 28:

A Conservative government would ban sharia courts and impose a tough crackdown on Islamic extremism, the shadow security minister has said.
Pauline Neville-Jones, a former head of the Joint Intelligence Committee, said: "We are not going to have any status for sharia courts. Absolutely not."
Earlier this month it emerged that the Government had quietly allowed rulings of five sharia courts across Britain to be enforceable through the county courts or High Court.
Lady Neville-Jones said that while minor disputes could be settled by "customary mediation" - including through sharia and the Jewish Beth Din system - there could be no formal legal recognition.

That still leaves open the question of whether participation in sharia "mediation" is truly voluntary. And the comparison with Beth Din courts does not really hold, as sharia is a system with much broader aspirations for control over the lives of believers and unbelievers, and as such, its proponents will always be seeking more power for it.

"We are not going to have any legal recognition of sharia judgments that would withstand appeal to a secular court," she said before the Tory conference in Birmingham, .
Speaking the day after Dominic Grieve, the shadow home secretary, said Britain had "done something terrible to ourselves" by encouraging multiculturalism, Lady Neville-Jones said that the Conservatives would make the case for more "integration" among all British people, whatever their backgrounds.
She said: "We want unity and opportunity, despite difference, through integration."
She accused the Government of leading the country down the "blind alley of multiculturalism, which has deliberately gone down the road of separation for its own sake."
Lady Neville-Jones said there was also a clear divide between the Tories and Labour on the question of how to deal with the spread of extremism among some young Muslims.
"We will be tough. We will be really tough on the men of violence and those who lead them to violence," she told the Sunday Express. "That's the real gap between us and the Government at the moment."
She explained that a Conservative Government would move to extend the list of banned extremist groups - potentially including Hizb ut-Tahrir, which is regularly accused of anti-Semitism, and Tablighi Jamaat, which is behind plans to build a "mega mosque" near the site of the London Olympics complex in East London.
She also said the Tories would seek to reform the European Convention on Human Rights in order to allow the deportation of preachers who incite violence against Britain.
Speaking in response to Lady Neville-Jones's comments, Inayat Bunglawala, of the Muslim Council of Britain, said: "Sharia courts operate with the blessing of UK law."
He added: "As for banning organisations, we believe in a democracy it is far better to allow all organisations to operate freely, and if individuals happen to break the law then they ought to be prosecuted."

And we know what kind of democracy he is interested in...None, none at all...Allah willing, and he always is...

Our democracy is being used to destroy democracy. The rule of law is being used to destroy law by making it a joke, a bitter joke. Kids in Australian schools are taught that what binds us together in our joyous multiculturalism is "democracy and the rule of law." That is all. What a con. Everything that we have developed in the interests of a decent, fair society for our people - the law, democracy, welfare etc - is being used to advance the Big Takeover.
To get rid of the threat, do we have to give all these thing up? looks like it.
"If you mix the West with the East, you will have more repression." Don't know who said that, but it was obvious, if you did not (in PC fashion) remove historical lessons and commonsense from the national mindset.

Have they been accused of being "ethnic nationalists" yet?

Funny, for a few days now, the tune of "Rule Britannia" has been running through my mind.

Especially that line: "Britons never, never, never shall be slaves"

Oh yeah!

"...and impose a tough crackdown on Islamic extremism..."

A crackdown on Islamic extremism will first require a uniform definition of such extremism.

That will require the long overdue public analysis of what Islam really teaches.

What does the Qur'an really say? Don't forget relevant ahadith and the sira, if needed; and the rulings and opinions of the various Islamic schools of jurisprudence, too. And don't forget the fatwas.

And make full use of the statements of well known British Muslims like Anjem Choudhary:
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/3097350/Radical-Islamic-clerics-warn-of-further-attacks-after-publisher-is-firebombed.html

In speaking derisively of 'extremism', Muslims themselves have set their own trap. Though that sentiment is disingenuous, use it against them. Force THEM to explain why THEY (supposedly) oppose Islamic literalism; why they would want their children to avoid 'extremism'.

Make note that, as Muslims believe the Qur'an is God's literal and final word, attempting to comply with it does not make one an extremist.

One either believes it all, or not.

Force THEM to explain how the Taliban, whose goal is 'a pure Islamic state', got it wrong.

Ask them if the punitive amputation of a fellow human being's hands or feet is acceptable; not just in the UK, but anywhere on the planet.

Force them to either deny God's word, or to place themselves in that 'extremist' camp; that fundamentalist camp.

And then crackdown on Islamic extremists.

Inayat Bunglawala, of the Muslim Council of Britain, said: "Sharia courts operate with the blessing of UK law."

Blatant liar

Nobody in government made a decision to set up Sharia courts. Muslims figured out how to use British law to accomplish their aim. There already exist parallel courts for domestic law under something called the Arbitration Act.

Jewish Beth Din courts operate under the same provision in the Arbitration Act and resolve civil cases, ranging from divorce to business disputes. They have existed in Britain for more than 100 years, and previously operated under a precursor to the act.

So the Muslims took advantage of the law to set up their own Sharia courts, which have been ruling on some cases for a year. They have dealt with divorce, inheritance and domestic violence.

Siddiqi said that in a recent inheritance dispute handled by the court in Nuneaton, the estate of a Midlands man was divided between three daughters and two sons.

The judges on the panel gave the sons twice as much as the daughters, in accordance with sharia. Had the family gone to a normal British court, the daughters would have got equal amounts.

In the six cases of domestic violence, Siddiqi said the judges ordered the husbands to take anger management classes and mentoring from community elders. There was no further punishmen

The major parties in the UK can promise all they want. Anything that doesn't please the muslims can be appealed to the European courts, and if they win then there isn't a damn thing that the UK 'government' can do about it.

"Sharia courts operate with the blessing of UK law."

WOW what fools, now different nations will want their laws in the UK as well.. what a shambles, the UK is now discriminating against people from other nations who have different laws in their countries. Buddist and Hindu laws are just as important, so why are they not introducecd as well, lets make a propper mess of it all..

Of course when you read the Maxist books or the communist and socialist books this is exactly what they intended to do. It has been done before in history, they mix up the races and people loose their identity and faith and are then easier to manipulate..

Evidence of intelligent life on earth.

They CAN do something about it. IF they really want to.

They can start proceedings to exit the EU on the one hand. Or they can tell the EU where to STICK it and tell them "you and whose army are going to MAKE us?".

Time to STAND up to thed Eurocrats.

Once a major country takes the lead in throwing out the dictator bums of the EU the rest will follow.

What we will then see is REAL European Unity!

"If you mix the West with the East, you will have more repression."

The East is too broad of a word to use in that statement. Being a Hindu I can definitely speak for my community that the majority of us base society on a "live and let live" attitude. The more correct phrase would be:

"If you mix the West with Islam, you will have more repression."

Lets leave the majority of peaceful Hindus, Buddhists, Jains, Christians, Sikhs, Jews and Zoroastrians of the East out of this.
