I think what really bothers these Muhammad maniacs is not so much the fairly harmless story of the novel (as I understand it) but the fact that it is reminding the world that this 50+ year old man had sex (rape by modern standards) with a defenseless 9 year old girl. Now this would not be so bad, as Robert Spencer has pointed out, if it were only an example of the mores of the time & place but because the ridiculous Koran keeps referring to Mo as a perfect model of manhood, this kind of pedophilia is then sanctioned - really an embarrassment.

Of course these moronic Islamists are only making matters worse by giving the book so much publicity. I only hope that their dumb actions stimulate widespread discussions of the pedophilia of Muhammad.

I think many of you would be very interested in reading what Anjem Choudhary has said in the past. If you Google his name you will find quite a few links to what he has stated. Here is one for example, where with a live link to exile Omar Bakhri Anjem stated :

Are British people going to sit back and do nothing while not only does our Government sell us off to Europe, but this, blatantly doing nothing while Muslims preach hatred about British people, whom they live in the same country with?

If our government was worth its salt then these men would be removed from the UK to their parents' homes in Pakistan and Bangladesh. This man is not British. Muslims will never be British regardless for the simple reason that Islam is their Nation first over any other.

From here, it seems the Muslim nations are the oppressors (and have been for fourteen centuries) who need to be enlightened.

All they care about is their traditions, with no thought to those of others, which happen to predate Islam by many centuries. Islam is the baby in the family, and it acts that way - screaming and crying and banging its spoon on the table unless it gets its way.

I made a shirt on Cafepress that I ripped off from t-shirt doctor's "Everyone whose prophet had sex with a 9-year-old raise your Koran." I decided that was way too apologetic and I made one that says 'Everyone whose prophet raped his retarded 6-year-old niece raise your Koran.' I want a Muslim to try to explain how the sexual assault of brain-damaged 6 year-old doesn't constitute rape. It has that pic from Faithfreedom of the chick dressed in a tent and chador, holing a sign that says 'the prophet was a rapist, a pedophile, a mass murderer, a psychopath, a cult leader' on the back. I'm wearing it on Tuesday for Eid al-Fitr.

Seriously, the book doesn't even bring up the fact that she was his niece, her unarguable mental deficiencies, the fact that the sexual assault began when she was 6, not 9, or that he beat her. The Muslim world should be kissing Sherry Jones' ass.

In the US, we have Organized Crime statutes at the Federal level to handle these idiots.

Speech to incite riot or violence against another is not covered under the first amendment. Choudhary would be in jail, waiting for trial without bail were he to try such a stunt in the States. I really do not understand why the law in the UK allows for such idiots to continue spewing hate that amounts to a hit list.

It doesn't change the point, however. There were more Christians than Muslims offended by this play and the opinions of the Christians didn't matter. So why are the hurt feelings of Christians accorded less weight than those of Muslims? It comes down to one word: violence.

Christians protested this play with a prayer vigil outside the theater.
Muslims protested a book by bombing the publisher.

I wonder what would happen if someone changed the title of the Qur'an, and marketed it as an entirely new book. I'll bet it would gain some readership, if it had a spicy title.

Can you imagine the outrage on both sides? It would be denounced as pornography, by some non-Muslims, and denounced as an insult to Mo' Mad, by Muslims.

It would have to be translated into a readable format...Never mind. It's impossible to make the Qur'an readable.

I'm with other posters who say that Jewel of Medina is kiddy porn, judging from the excerpt that was released. It's crap that should never see the light of day, except for the fact that banning it might damage the principle of freedom of expression.
