Not quite Travis Bickle. Habib Ahmed reminds me of a cab driver I myself once encountered.
"Alleged terrorists wanted 'violent jihad,'" by Nicola Dowling for the Manchester Evening News, September 25 (thanks to the Constantinopolitan Irredentist):
A MANCHESTER taxi driver was a secret member of al-Qaida who had a terrorists' "contacts book" with phone numbers written in invisible ink, a court was told.Habib Ahmed, 28, of Cheetham Hill, attended a terrorist training camp in Pakistan and was funded in his activities by his wife Mehreen Haji, it was claimed.
A jury at Manchester Crown Court was told Habib Ahmed was called on to help conduct terrorist business in the UK and abroad by Rangzieb Ahmed, a 33-year-old Rochdale-born man who was an "important member" of al-Qaida.
It was claimed that the terrorists' contacts book belonged to Rangzieb Ahmed and that he gave it to Habib Ahmed.
The book was found when police secretly searched Habib's luggage as he flew back to Britain from Dubai.
The two men, who are not related, deny they were members of al-Qaida and have gone on trial along with Habib Ahmed's wife in a case which is expected to last up to three months.
Andrew Edis QC, prosecuting, said the investigation had involved the use of listening devices in a hotel room in Dubai and inside two cars in Manchester.
The jury was shown a series of documents including a flyer found at Habib Ahmed and Mehreen Haji's North Manchester home showing a picture of a sub machine gun under the heading "Jihad in Manchester?" - advertising an event with speakers at Longsight library.
Mr Edis said Habib Ahmed and Mehreen Haji had been interested in the idea of violent Jihad and had been married by Muslim cleric Sheikh Omar Bakri Muhammad who was the leader of the now defunct organisation al-Mujaharoun....

Listening devices in a Dubai hotel room and inside two cars in Manchester, secret search of airline luggage, invisible ink detected in contact book...
Now THIS is how you stay on offense against Jihadists. US law enforcement please take note.
Yeah. Like you might be interested in the idea of a round of golf, a trip to the cinema or a new pair of shoes.
Any Muslims booking a flight to Pakistan should be forced to attend a security interview first. It would be nice if we didn't let them off the plane when they arrived back.
Come on ... I can dream, can't I?
Most individuals have their experience with cab drivers from the "hood".
Like leaping out of their parked waiting cabs on 9/11 and dancing with joy.
Why have the public media turned a blind eye to these kind of incidents, anecdotal, but witnessed and understood ?
It has to be fear.
Ask not for whom the bell tolls......
A previous article on two similar cab-driver, Raed Hijazi, an Al-Qaeda member, and Mohamad Kamal Elzahabi, who helped him:
"A former Boston cabdriver who allegedly admitted training in an Afghanistan terrorist camp was charged yesterday in federal court in Minnesota with lying to the FBI about helping a convicted terrorist get a Massachusetts driver's license.
Mohamad Kamal Elzahabi, 41, a Lebanese national, is charged with lying about providing support to Raed Hijazi in 1997 and 1998, when both were working as taxi drivers in Boston, according to a complaint and FBI affidavit unsealed yesterday in US District Court in Minnesota.
Hijazi was later convicted in Jordan of the failed millennium bombing plot that targeted American and Israeli tourists in that country.
The complaint also charges Elzahabi with lying to federal agents by denying he had shipped radios and other communications equipment to Pakistan between 1995 and 1997.
Elzahabi, who has been held in New York since his arrest in May, will be transferred to Minneapolis to face the two counts of making false statements to federal investigators.

When did authorities learn that this man had attended a terrorist training camp? If they know where these places are then why is anyone who goes to one ever allowed to return home? Why isn't their presence at these camps a grounds to deny reentry?
get them all out of our countries. please, before its too late.

And sometimes dreams come true, watling.
Let's hope this one does.
darcy and watling,
We can all keep dreaming, so long as we realize that it's nothing but a fantasy. No country as hung up on diversity as the US will EVER do the right thing if it means putting Muslims on a special watch list or giving them security interviews. You'll have the profiling issue all over again. How do you give Mohammed the interview and not give the same to every John, Jean and Judy? We will never be like Israel. There are too many flights to get off the ground.
Did you leave a tip?
Glenn Beck rocks! I watch him every night religiously. He is very provocative, concerned about our nation and I would vote for him if he ever ran for the White House.
You should watch his daily program, 1 hour at 7: pm EST and repeated at 9: pm and 12: am. Remember, these are Eastern Standard time zones.
Glenn Beck is on Head Line News (HLN) sister channel to CNN and it is about three to five channels above or below where you find CNN channel on your TV system. Channel 202 on Dish net.
Guaranteed to fall in love with his program. If you do not fall in love with his program write me on JW addressing American. I read every posting.
